Bad very bad. And no i wouldn't click it, especially if it is praised as agessively like this. (sorry to say that, please don't take any offense) The (any) animation is very distracting even if you just simply scroll through the pages, it makes me instantly want to close the whole tab, lol. Even worse if you just want to read something and the animation keeps on playing on the upper or lower side of the screen, it becomes frustrating to say the least. Less is more imo.
This is my current work in progress CV. The outside almost done, and now I work on the less entertaining part, the interiors. I wonder what do you think about the ramps underneath?
So about the easter egg I mentioned..... I know I already added Dig Dug statues to the maze but this was too perfect especially considering how some people like digging their way into POIs. Most people will probably never see it....
Hate to tell you this, but animated GIF signatures tend to be either "relics from the early Net" or something you find on young-kid forums like Neopets and Gaia. Generally not suited for a more mature audience, and they tend to come across as garish. There's a reason I kept mine fairly minimalistic, and I still feel like it stands out a little too much.
That's great (I do love me a game of DigDug). Looks like Fygar's about to exhale For some reason, when I read your initial post about adding an easter egg to the castle, an image of Super Breakout leapt to mind... probably the imagery of the stone/bricks combined with the general subject matter I guess. I'll have to load up the Wonderland again soon!
So, just came here to leave the new ship that I and @Ramachandra just finished Xen'uan Carrier http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1216188578 Hope you guys like it, it has a story to it...
@Neal I give you an A for effort my man, but you're trying to recreate a curvaceous ship with a lozenge-shaped saucer section in grid-based, four-facings Empyrion... that's fighting the system in a big way. @Kaeser Looks good and very, very heavy. HEY, YOU'RE STEALING MY PHOTOSHOOT PLANET! It's mine, mine I tell you!
I haven't uploaded the new version yet. Soon ™. I could have done it today but I have to take new pics and upload them and blah.
They always remind me of the flaming skulls, dancing hamsters, flashing lights, etc. that proliferated on sites in the 90s.
Man, this ship looks impressive! Very cool and sleeky design, instantly subscribed. I worked a little bit on my new ship (it still hasn't a name btw.) Made it 2 blocks wider on every side so the interior isn't as narrow as before. I just hope it doesn'T look too fat now. (no worries, i will continue working on the other version) @Blaine
The extra width does detract a little from your original sleek look. I've not been inside, so I can't say whether it was too cramped before, but some of mine have 1 block corridors, so I suspect it'd be fine. For me at least
I'd welcome a return to Web 1.0 or even Web 1.5 or 1.8, for that matter. Those pioneering days on the virtual frontier may have been rough, but they were also glorious. My parents got Internet in 1992 for their law office and we had AOL by 1993, so I've been knocking around online for quite a while. Flashy signatures and so on are no great loss, though.
I thought his sig was kinda cool. Then again I had one of those animated abominations of a web page so my judgment here is probably questionable at best.
Amazing, EPIC, AWESOME and freaking cool. I can't wait to see the finished product. Stuff like this is one of the reasons why I keep playing this game.
Updating workshop items this morning. The first two concrete bunkers and the castle are done. Back to working on other stuff. Maybe the third bunker.....or maybe that EvE Rifter adaptation or the monster drilling HV I've been tinkering with.
It's only on man's opinion, so take with a grain of salt - but my eye tells me that this beautifully designed ship could benefit by a bit of an extension in length of the body section between the saucer and nacelles, and a slight thinning of that mid part, like a wasp's body between thorax and abdomen. Just food for thought.
