SV turrets might be balanced to not take away from the other ship classes; e.g. max of 2-4 per ship point defence turrets that only fire on (and only damage) critters and drones. SV turrets might only be multitool and mining turrets. We don't know what the plans are, so the sky is not falling yet
I was feeling 'under the weather' for a bit more than a week, but finally able to play a bit more each day this week! So, just before my break, @Friendly Timo and I drilled out a hangar and extended the Fort to have underground manufacturing, garden, living space, etc. Last night @Friendly Timo and @rainyday worked a lot on the faction CV project we're doing in Survival. I'll get involved more in the decorating phase, so I worked on the base. Here are some pictures of our base. This is our Manufacturing room. The door beyond leads to the hangar. This is the garden & kitchen area; with shoulder light off for a relaxing atmosphere. Here's the livingroom, to the right side of the kitchen area. Art will be added soon. The door on the left leads to the bathroom and the other door leads to the area where I'll make the bedrooms area. Last night I spent most of the game session working on our hangar. It was plain steel walls with cement floor, a repair station and a light. I needed to extend the hangar to create a docking bay for the faction dropship, and I wanted to decorate. Here are a few progress pictures--lighting isn't finished because I need to do it during the nighttime hours in the game. I'll also add little details here and there of course. There's a large vessel parked in the center of the hangar (where the repair bay is), but the other side of the hangar has some equipment so far. The first 3 rows of blocks have Xeno Steel, and the walls above are smooth, black steel. Before wrapping up last night, I scaled up the Fort to get a good view and some fresh tropical air. Then I tried to imitate my avatar. LOL Well, maybe it'll be possible one day. It was fun trying.
For me personally I would still love this game even if they added normal turrets to SVs. SV type of vehicles having turrets happens in other games but it would be nice for hummel or staff member to tell us what are their plans for each ship. What would be nice if a SVs had mining attachments and multitool attachments instead of a turret.
To be fair i'm an American & I can't ever seem to master the damn English Language. It's more convolutedly idiotically inefficient then Java imho. The Devs Conceded on their stance on SV Turrets? Is this confirmed? Also why are they Docking SVs to HVs when everyone was asking for HVs to dock to SVs? XD Doh... funny... -_- So... ya are of the opinion that SV = Swiss Army Knife, & that Jack-of-all-Trades/Hybridity is God & Specialization can't compete? If Mining & Multitool Power make it to SVs, but are Turrets, then that's the exact same problem for us Lone Wolves that the likes of the CV Drill Turret is... what was the point then...?
I wonder that too... (both mentioned points) Perhaps we get both (I'd preferred that anyways!!) HV <-> SV Yes, right you are. That's why I want FIXED type multitool...
Working on my next entry for the sub kiloton challenge, the SiLoDe (Signal Logic Demonstrator). I still have to test how reliable it is but I think I got the thrusters and RCS only active while you are in the pilot chair thing working now.
I have a question, what do you think about my actual Color Schema? I'm not meaning the ship itself, but the black coloring with blue stripes around the hull, Ship name letters and white lines... I'm in the making of a complete series of (many of) my vessels, mostly in early starter configuration, with that color schema, and I would like to hear your opinion on it
The lettering, white striping and the blue flashes are perfect to my eye. I think using a shade of gray to replace the black parts would show off the lines of the hull better.
Working on a Galaxy Class -inspired ship. The Ship was actually supposed to be just a design study, the actual Ship was intended to be way bigger (roughly 700 meters, like i found out too late ,lol), but the games limitation doesn't allow such big ships, of course... So it ended up being just 242 meters long The big saucer on the right was intended to be the original ship. I'm deliberately trying to keep the surface as smooth and clean as possible, but since the ship is not supposed to be a replica of the Galaxy anyways, i don't have to care to stay true to the original and are free to change some proportions and shapes as i want to.
I agree. Maybe the darkest grey. Black is cool and all but you tend to lose the details and lines with such dark colour scheme. But I like the general look of the ship too!
I'm impressed with folks' work at that scale. I've tried it a few times with results that always look like a giant bus with fins.
thanx both of you! but... for me it's too bright (yes it's the darkest grey we have now)... Some grey exactly between that and dark black would be best... hm... perhaps some different color? edit: We need more COLORS ;-) not bad, the "darkness" factor of the dark brown is good, and the lighter brown is a good nuance to that... it's just not... blue.... and that's not dark enough too... ... need more Colors ...
There is a Galaxy Class on the workshop that exceeds the 500 meter limit. I think it was done by importing from some modeling tool.
You built this too ? Im loving these designs your popping out rucky, and all the above colour schemes look awesome too me. These are the kind of pointy designs I enjoy Keep up the good work !
Yeah, we do. I was hoping we would get a new selection along with the new textures and stuff - but no luck
yep thanx again! that's my new Go-To-Ship for Survival. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1221161797 <- this is my personal version, Midgame Configuration (RCS2, Repairs and L-Thrusters, 21 NPCs, but still no advanced Weapons to keep Z&E-Ressources low) That's the standard endgame version: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1217159269 (less color / letter pointation...)
Will definitely be the better strategy. In my Shamelessly Biased Opinion I think it looks perfect for its role. Blue & Grey looks good... but I agree Blue & Black is better for this particular one. Also Black's 'detail hiding' won't be an Issue if the Shiny Metal Texture is used instead of Combat Steel's Default Texture. The Brownish one could look good for dedicated Desert Planet use. My fav color is Blue, so the Blue + Light Blue one looks flat out sexy to me...
Darkest Purple to replace the black, and then try random colors til you find a combo that catches your eye. Purple n Yellow might be striking, but for a more muted look try Purple & Red, or the many varieties of blue.
