SV Warp Drives are a thing now...@.@ Honestly some of these theories are just outdated Personally I'd rather have the LC/AC On the same playfield as me - that can be overlooked for short hops - but if you knew things would break enmass it defeats the purpose of crafting replacements. I'm guessing you play mostly Single-player, 'cuz in a multiplayer enviroment the actions of your friends account for so much stupidity with ideas like these.
Singleplayer yeah. The main point of CV has been access to erestrum and zascosium ores. SV's can't warp that far. Once you've mined a couple thousand ores it's enough use a better CV blueprint.
Surprise, I managed to come up with something that doesn't look like a bus with fins - it looks like a dustpan with windows instead. It still needs a color scheme and there's room for some decor inside. Shower, toilet, 6 cargo boxes, 18 grow plots, Adv. Constructor, etc. Doesn't get over 50% on Omicron.

Fairly long ship, very close to the weight restriction. The entire ship has O2, and is agile. But I got the generators to 174% flying around on Omicron, so it does not meet the challenge. The only place within the cabin I was effected by the heat and radiation was when I stood inside the medic station and was effected by the gravity generator. Since the lowest player suit can tolerate this I am just pointing it out. Nice design and texture work. Not part of the challenge... It felt odd that I could walk through the "empty space" where the constructor is. The ship has a warp drive but no warp tank, so it is incapable of warp. The thursters and part of the spotlight are buried. Thruster burn is something I think the devs are working on, the ship will tear itself apart if this ever gets enabled. Again, just pointing this out. Unknown, but if you would like to throw a ship in I would love to see an example of your work.

Thanx for providing the save file! Now I could get a test/check for the submissions for myself! Nice submissions there are!!! +1 @Fluffy as you've not got some feedback on your own vessel, it's a nice big one with lots of space (and a fly-through-hangar!!), very nice, one remark still - as you mentioning bonus eh usability points for no heat & radiation, no buried things etc. - I would suggest you move one Fuel and O2 tank in Range of the player so *no control panel use* is needed at all, that is direct accessibility to anything. Actual you have to go through your Warp core / Engineering Room to get there, and you will get toasted and have grown not only one more eye on the way back...
I did nothing! It should still be there. Let me go look. Somehow the visibility got changed to Hiddem. I haven't touched the thing since I put the constructor back and it still has subscribers, so I have no idea what happened. I changed it back to public.
Thanks for pointing out the warp tank forgot to put it back, also I forgot to turn off the extra thrusters too. As far as covered thrusters I don't cover them very much so in the future if it needs modified it will be easy to do so. As far as the 174% if the extra thrusters are turned off it should meet the challenge, of course I can rip thrusters out, it mainly has those for higher gravity planets on the entity server.
Some really nice ships here and it's a fun challenge (still working on a submission)! Big question though; can someone point me to a thread/reply from the devs about how they're actually calculating energy useage by thrusters? Or someone who's reverse engineered the games math? 1 Small Generator produces 2.5 MW = 2,500 kW 1 Small Thruster -says- it uses 240 kW Scratching my head about this, built a sm CV w a single Small Thruster in each direction, mass ~ 300t, hover on Omicron = 33% , 3d flight = 94% Hovering uses 33% ~ 825 kW...?? Even if all 6 thrusters are maxed their 'spec sheet' seems to say they'd only consume 1,440 kW, so wth?
The density of the atmosphere influences power consumption. The consumption goes up in denser atmospheres.
Updating all the ships in the save file can be amusing. Especially since Steam will tell you that a workshop item has been updated, but it does not tell you which one. Thank you, I have been obsessing about the gravity generator since I found out that they give off heat and radiation but I see your point. I have modified my ship and I am including the latest save game file. According to the wiki, Akua has a atmospheric density of 1.317Kg/m3 and a gravity of 0.84 g. Omicron has a atmospheric density of 1.217Kg/m3 and a gravity of 1 g. The atmospheric density is slightly weaker on Omicron, but the gravity is stronger. That is why I chose it from the two starting planets. I always turn on all the thrusters when testing, how high is the gravity on the Entity server? Do we need to suggest the negative effects of high gravity on the player to the dev's? Are we talking about people-pancakes? You are not alone, the fleas have been jumping off my head with little hot feet while I try to work out the math. Sorry for the late reply, I look forward to testing it after you post the file/link.
The current propulsion system, along with vehicle physics, is a placeholder. I'd guess that propulsion will be revamped when Eleon implements mass - which will probably be soon.
This one definitely takes the prize on overall style though. Very nice job on texturing and interior.
Thank you, yeah I love the newer textures they have now, I think this may be the best light CV I have built yet. It was fun building something to only 1000 tons.
Textures? I got lost fiddling with all of the textures and colors. I could go on with that for some time so I decided to enter the thing now before Fluffy closes the challenge. Stayed with 18 planter boxes. Shower, bathroom, bed, food processor, fridge, Adv. constructor, armor locker, 7 cargo boxes, med bay, and a minigun turret to swat away the pests. This was built in the Exp. branch. It may not spawn in the regular branch.
I cannot get the generators above 50% during the flight test. When I went to the head (toilet) I got roasted by the warp core. When I exited the ship through the top hatch I was roasted by a thruster. Not part of the challenge... The thrusters only had shutters in front of them but were exposed. I could find no entryways from the ground, the only entry I could find was topside after jetpacking to the roof. The interior is very cramped, I found myself accidentally picking fruit when I was trying to use the devices in the back.

I do have something I would like the group to clarify, I did not originally count the gravity generator as hazardous until I found out (during this challenge) that it radiates both heat and radiation. It's within the default players suit tolerances, but do you feel that it needs to be sectioned off away from the player? I would also like to make a clarification. Hazardous components can either be walled off, or in separate "engineering" sections of the ship. If they are in a separate section, it needs to be marked so a complete stranger to your work can understand that they need to stay away from it. No warning labels on screwdrivers saying "may cause blindness if inserted into eye", but it does need to be marked.
