With the advent of the amazing PvP potential of 7.5 Shattered Galaxy plans to be at the forefront of PvP again. We will be instituting balance changes to create a balanced PvP along the central tenent that raid defense should make or break based on the defenders not the base itself. To that end we plan on buffing SV and HV health and attack damages, while nerfing base homing rockets. CVs will also receive a slight buff to account for SVs in space. If so, there are several critical issues right now, and I dont think SV/HV needs buff or if this should be priority : Offline protection is broken : https://empyriononline.com/threads/offline-protection-too-op.33981/ SV Plasma and Laser is useless at the moment. CV should be slower, some CVs are faster then SVs.
Of course. I agree with the plasma and laser and CV comments. The link for OOP is broken. But we are balancing for the top tier of PvP. Most people haven't seen this level but we had 20-30 veteran players in 6.X essentially become gods in their base and it was impossible to breach. That is the main aim right now to make that state not attainable due to bases. That state in my mind and the people I play with needs to be reserved for when the defenders are good at defending with vehicles. We are looking at buffs to plasma and laser across the board to make them the "end game" weapons of choice. Also yes CV speed will be looked at but I'm not sure thats a value I can change. The best I can see doing with these configs would make their acceleration very slow.
Those are the comments about Offline protection, this is the main issue for me so I am copying the text : 1) Only factions should be able to use it, you want to use it create an faction. 2) No increase in range for turrets, it could/should be reduced or stays the same. 3) Offline protection timer just start to count down when its not being attacked. Options we should have as admin to configure in our servers : 1) Players have cool-down to swap from factions ( 1 day for example ). 2) No offline protection for capitals ( configurable by admin, default: allow ). 3) Min faction size for offline protection ( configurable by admin, default any size ). 4) Only allow bases in space if this is anchored to something, like an asteroid. Why : Factions are just using fake players that are not in the faction to spawn bases everywhere, so they dont need to worry about it being destroyed ever, just log in with this fake account and recharge the station. They sometimes swap faction for this fake player to be able to use the bases. Item 2 and 4 is just to prevent camping on warp spots.
Yes we noticed people doing crap like this in 6.0 so we made a rule that all bases with OOP need to be factioned. OOP should not increase turret range and I would like to turn off turret shooting when OOP is on. To combat people basing super far out in space we have a limit on how far out you can be from a planet, 15km, and a script that checks for this.
