ty for your insight, i will redo the insides, im still noob at building hence why i started the 3d model import biz i want to strive for this ship to shine, so ill do the best i can!
ok ty, i dident know that about the gennies, good to know ty, and ya im still learning how to set up everything so trying to make this perfict
You will find us in the north hemisphere of the map, better said the northmost system. I' back in an hour or so, leave me a pm so we can meet
Just go with it like it is a real spaceship, make sections & compartments - you have fantastic outline and great general setting inside. Fixing things in creative with symmetry mode speed things up a lot with building, deleting & designing! ... adding and selecting textures & painting are still much more time consuming
God ain't that the truth! I always thing I'm nearly finished when I start texturing and I've got no idea why! XD
Another thing i noticed was the gravity generators. they cover quite a large area and there effect stacks so if you have to many it will effect your jump height and can make it difficult to get up stairs. Its always good to play around with the gravity generators to get the perfect placement and try to avoid overlap.
Interiors inevitably lead to exteriors... especially when you make a change to one or the other and wind up having to redesign both...
Moar Turrets! Which, sadly, requires something being done about Weapon Max Count the way it is as of the time of this Post... I've tried that, but I too have trouble with it... I have the terrible misfortune of being one of those kinds of people that cares what others think of me... With that said I also still stand my ground on Practicality & Effectiveness >>>>>>>> Looks. Umm... @Hummel-o-War needs to see this... this is an Emmy Award winning Pic... imho worthy of Implementation into the game as a 'Photo Pic', like those kind ya get shown during the Loading Screen... Everyone has to start at the bottom & work their way up. Nothing wrong with that. Also, taking existing work, & experimenting with tweaking it as a strategy for learning process is a totally legit strat in my book. (Especially if trying to build stuff from scratch right out the gate is too intimidating a prospect for a New Person, which also nothin wrong with that.) To be fair, nothin wrong with wanting to be able to afford a Gen loss or two & still be able to fly around inside Aestus & still not Power Use Redline. Nice Stealth dude! (Totally kidding, especially since I dunno if your Server is full PvE or not. ) Funny ya mention that... peeps who think like that wandering around my CV Builds would wonder if I like torturing Claustrophobes. Truthfully I don't... I just don't wanna needlessly waste O2 in O2ing areas peeps won't ever really need to Occupy, like big amounts of Ceiling Space... Resource Waste in my book... plus no point in Empty Space that has no job imho. (Me = Military-minded Musclehead.) Only parts of my CV I ever have large that has a actual need for it tends to be my SV & HV Hangar, (Specially when i'm no Maverick in SV Flying Ability.) & I wish I could get away with not Ventilatoring it... but sadly have to O2 the Space so one can get out of the SV in Space & go from it to into the Ship Innards without freezing to death in one's Armor Boosts from Space Frigidness... which isn't even Scientifically Accurate from what I hear, so good thing that makes sense. /sarcasm In my case it's true... because I Integrate the Shiny Metal Texture + Blue Color onto ALL of my Hull Blocks AS I build... then when the Building Stage is done I only need to Texture special areas of the Build that actually use other Textures & any desired Symbols... which only takes a long time, instead of forever! (Screw you 20th Century lookin Wuss Weld Look of Suck-At-Strengthdom! ) I can't stress enough how nuts Gravity Generator placement work can drive me... to the point where in my latest CV Build one of my Mad Empyrion Science Experiments being run on it is a new strategy for eliminating Gravity Generator need outright. I still wonder & hope this is one of my successful Experiments. *CoughThickenTheHullSillyCough*
I have... it's in progress. An SV already class 10 and climbing. She's about half the length of Kobold.
Built small CV in survival - a spiritual successor to UMS. PSI Pack Rat. It is small maintenance/repair ship with some mining capabilities also. Still need to add the actual turrets (mining & multitool) and it's pretty much done. I'll add more photos once it's done. Rear view: Hangar. Can fit the PSI Locust maintenance HV.
Open-air top-docking HV bays on CV. I'ma gonna have to borrow that idea, nice work! Obviously would have to think about placement and wouldn't install one in a combat oriented CV. With this method you could make a seriously small and cheap 'HV-Drop CV'; Landing struts around the HV and a small passenger cabin on top. One day we'll be able to dock stuff to each other as we please.. Carrier CV carrying (ahaha!) a variety of other smaller CVs; Utility drop ships, Pure space miners, fast cargo transports, smaller combat CV. *sighs wistfully*
Planning to post the Locust also? I like HVs that actually look like trucks. BTW, I've used a modified Sampo as a starter CV last couple games:
I've always liked the look of the Polaris CV (or as most people know it, the Tier 2 prefab), but it's always been a little too small for my liking so I decided to take a half-finished CV I had bouncing around that was going to become my Halcyon Mk.VI and actually make it a Polaris on steroids. Also arranged a shipyard creative world so, all my Halcyon designs in the background from the original to the Mk.V. Texturing and detailing ongoing...
Today in Empyrion I didn't do anything apart from check the materials list for the Aetheria Mountain Base and then published it on Steam! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1274942641 Typically, as happened with @Starwing6 I got the first comment while I was still typing the description and adding the pictures. The comment suggested adding a description and more pictures! Anyway, the description for the Aetheria Mountain Base is as follows, for anyone interested: From the private construction facility of Lord Montacute and with the kind permission of Kieve (http://steamcommunity.com/id/krsmw) we present the Aetheria Mountain Base. For those times when you want to use the KSV Aetheria LXS (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1173844896) and its associated Flightpad but also need a starter base with all the benefits that solar power and Cannon Turrets can provide. This is an early game build and can be built at player level 10, it is class size 2. It is quite cheap to construct, using only: Stone Dust - 3564 Iron ingots - 350 Silicon ingots - 160 Copper ingots - 116 Sathium ingots - 105 Cobalt ingots - 67 The Mountain Base is designed to be spawned in and lowered into the terrain with the PageDown key, leaving the top and front visible with as much of the rest covered as possible. It can 'standalone', but looks much better embedded in the mountain. The interior can then be excavated with the drill as and when space is needed. As it is a starter base, facilities are limited to: Small Generator x 1 Fuel Tanks(T2) x 3 Capacitor(Solar) x 1 Oxygen Tank x 1 Cannon Turrets x 2 Small Ammo Box x 1 Assorted minimal lighting The Core, Generator and two Fuel Tanks are enclosed/protected and of those, only the Core is accessible (to comply with some server rules). Disclaimer: Although this is published with the permission of Kieve, whose Aetheria Flightpad is used in this design, any design flaws in the Mountain Base will be mine!
The two links above gave me a warning page... "Link blocked!" There's something about the brackets. When I copied the links manually and pasted it into the address bar as text, there was no problem. Weird. Nice looking base btw.
During small tertiary available moments of my RL time, I STILL am doing first rough draft Plotting & Scheming of my SV Gigas Pickup Truck HV Hauler. Especially trying to deal with how Ramp Max Height is only 3 Blocks & how one is ever supposed to fit a proper amount of 'Undercarriage' onto that to go with how much Width the 'Pickup Bed' will need, especially for my Hover War Tank... & maybe stuff even bigger then that, which I may well make my next Tank Build someday for all I know.
