Ok so currently I'm working on adding planets to my MP server's sectors.yaml file, but I've hit a bit of a stumbling block. I'm wanting to test my changes off of the server, so I set up a custom scenario on my personal machine and put the sectors.yaml file there. I'm trying to start a new game using that scenario in Creative mode so I can more easily test my planets and warp links, but it will not let me. Is there something in the sectors.yaml file that tells the client that Creative mode is not allowed? Because that's literally the only file I have in my custom scenario.
The Default Scenario is the only one that you can start in creative mode, if you want your scenario to be the same way as creative, you will have to start a new game, select your scenario, start it, then once you appear in game open the console and type 'changemode' without quote, that will switch the game from survival to creative, at that point you can do your test are whatever you want. Cheers,
changing the mode mid-game may corrupt terrain - you have been warned. The devs are looking to fix that, but try follow the advice above. Start fresh.
Why not just test the scenario in Survival mode, and use the console commands to zip around and check stuff, that's how I do it, and because its in Survival mode you will notice other small errors you have made and correct them, but its easier just to do it in full Survival mode, as drop pod falls jump into godmode then you can instantly exit drop pod, don't have to wait for it to hit ground and you can zip over to the test POI and see if its working, it will shoot at you if it is. gm hit enter for godmode itemmenu hit enter for creative menu di hit enter gives you positional data Three main ones I use.
