After 2 years, I'm still a beginner when it comes to console commands. i have the id=1300. I keep getting "error parsing entity id". I don't know what that means or hpw to correct it. I had a similar problem before, but my "oldtimer's disease" has kicked in and can't, for the like of me, remember what I did! HE-E-E-E-L-L-LP!
everytime a good idea: help it lists ALL available commands the console has (at least it should ;-) then help replaceblocks to get more information about that command. Now, to get the correct ID, you should type in DI (for debug information), and go near the structure you want to change and point at it. This will give you the ID of the structure. *** IT IS NOT THE FIRST NUMBER YOU SEE WHEN TYPING IN ENTS *** Could this have been your problem perhaps ;-) ? for replacing anthing, you need the internal Identifiers for the block you want to change. lets say you want standard steel blocks converted to combat steel blocks. then both commands (there are full and half blocks, because that way you need both of them ;-) replaceblocks ID HullFullLarge HullCombatFullLarge replaceblocks ID HullThinLarge HullCombatThinLarge replacing "ID" with the ID you got from the debug info screen. hope that helps ;-)
QUOTE="Razorwire, post: 215028, member: 21235"]What's the exact command you're typing? And do you have a screenie of where you got the ID from?[/QUOTE] I used "find" to get the ID -1300. Using advice from @rucky, I got the results below. ( You explained this to me before, but as I said. "Oldtimer's Disease". This whole thing is wanting to "replaceblocks" in the Wolverine HV. As shown below, it consists of "Hardened Steel Blocks" with HP=200 . The intent was to replace them with "Hardened Steel Blocks S" shown below on the Hornet, which have HP=2000 . This is due to the amazing, if sometimes confusing, world of the config.ecf that y'all have so kindly introduced to me.
WAT THE FUUUUUKKKKKK 2000 HITPOINTS ?!!!! as the police men in Werner would say... This is not orchinoal..... Seriously. HV and SV Hardened Blocks are the same and both have 200 HP. You have messed a bit with your config-file, right? Like making some BA/CV Blocks available to SVs or upped block HP or added that block?? edit: nevermind, now I've seen you've mentioned editing that file. sorry, nevermind. nevertheless please specify what exactly you have edited (copy the changes here), so we can see what needs to be done.
https://steamcommunity.com/linkfilter/?url=https://empyrion.gamepedia.com/Replace_Blocks_Command Best reference link for replaceblocks. Eleon keeps changing block group names, else I'd add it to my console commands guide http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=834727393
Even though I'm comfortable with the command I still check localization.csv every time I use replaceblocks.
I take it this is a Deutscher thing, right? (Not the first part) I'm strictly SP and am tired of being pasted by PVs and alien ion cannons with much too much accuracy. It stands to reason I will engineer a better, stronger ship. If I should ever partake in MP (not likely) I will be happy (ugh!) to go by their standards (if they have any). The block descriptions in the config.ecf file are a lot different from the game menus. So anything that said anything related to small hull blocks got 2ooo HP. The Wolverine is from an older BP. It's blocks are referred to as "Hardened Steel Blocks" while newer BPs are referred to as "Hardened Steel Blocks S". These, of course, do not match any descriptions in the config.
Yes, that was a german joke ;-) (edit: Werner is a german comic where Werner sometimes driving a very tuned-up motorbike, and the police, in person two more or less slow-minded persons, sometimes wondering, if some of the "attachments" are "original" that is ex works and then they're saying, "das is nich orchinoal"... ;-) Spoiler: movieclips :) "Die is nich orchinol!" Back to your problem, as it seems you have a very old blueprint? Then you first have to convert it. From here: https://eleon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/212553769-Replaceblocks-COMMAND replaceblocks <entityid> -alpha4 do this first, that should convert them to the new S blocks... and @Spirit_OK I find it a bit unfriendly to say our answers here were completely not helpful. edit 2: Spoiler: Offtopic: For the GERMAN (speaking) here, the BEST Werner Scene ever, 'Das Fussballspiel' sorry this was in the playlist and I COULD NOT resist...
@rucky, sorry, this is a great thread, I just remember at least two that were not so great. And without sticky this thread with all its greatness would still drift to the 10-something page rather soon, forums are changing fast.
HA-HA-HA! I get it! I noticed if I removed a block with the MT and replaced the same block it was the updated version, so I think you're right. I'll give it a try and let you know. Thanks. @Spirit_OK , I have found these guys (@rucky , @Razorwire , @Brimstone ,@binhthuy71 and others) have been both helpful and supportive to me. We poke a little fun here and there, but my knowledge of this game has increased exponentially. Yeah, some folks seem to like to bop their baloney on-line, but not all and not these people. I had no intention of involving a community when I started this game, and didn't for 6 months. Now I'm glad I did. Thanks to all of you.
Might also be worth trying replaceblocks to convert to normal steel and back to hardened. Worth adding anyway, with a reference to the localization.csv file for looking up names?
I'm doing something wrong beyond my typo's? My fingers tend to be insubordinate, so typing is an extreme effort sometimes. Still. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. BTW, I now know what parsing means: syntax analysis. (yes, I know syntax and analysis means) (more or less)
I took a look at both links. Thanks, especially for the "Guide". It's all still a bit confusing. I am on pain meds right now, so............. what was I saying? BTW, you're also on that list of helpful people.
You just need the number for the ID, not the name, so for the bogo you're after... replaceblocks 307 -alpha4 replaceblocks 307 hullarmoredthin hullthin replaceblocks 307 hullarmoredfull hullfull replaceblocks 307 hullthin hullarmoredthin replaceblocks 307 hullfull hullarmoredfull ...which will update legacy blocks, then convert the two types of HS to normal steel, then convert all the normal steel back to HS. This should update the blocks' HP to the ones in your custom config. Look up the block names in your localization.csv file, as I'm at work and can't check the exact names. They're a combination of 'hull' 'full/thin' 'armored' and maybe 'small' for small HS, but I can't remember exactly as I always look it up. **edit** Also, if you're English, 'armored' is spelt the American way. This has tripped me up more than once. Savages... **/edit**
I appreciate you're taking time from work to help me. There wasn't any hurry as the game goes on regardless of any block changes. In the meantime, I was creating a fire suppression unit for my current base, using a SV starter to create a working (in appearance) pump. Not sure where I will go with this. I'll try again and let you know. Ich bin Amerikanisch, but if I see any Englishmen, I will let them know.
No worries matey. Happy to help. Work-wise, we're in the middle of shutting down and decommissioning my site, and once we're done we're all redundant, so I have a lot of unused time at 'work' right now I'm sanguine, for reasons I won't post here.
HALLE-BLOODY-LUJAH!! I DID IT!! I was so discouraged with my failure to get this console command to work, i just said 'eff ' it and changed the blocks manually, as I really wanted to reproduce my Wolverine assault HV and Badger tank HV in my new enhanced specs. Actually, as you can see. i skipped it for more than a week. Today, just for the hell of it, with no real expectation of it working, i tried on one of mt favorite early bases and......... IT WORKED!!!! I don't know how or why and I'm not even sure if I can do it again because I just did it and ran over here to tell you. (huff-huff) I'm breathless with excitement (tee-hee-hee!) this is so-o-o-o GREAT! Regardless of how I did it, I did it because of all of your help, and again I thank you all. Sincerely, Track Driver
Celebrations were a little premature. I have been able to "changeblocks" on bases, NOT on my vessels. On the bases was most important, as there were so many blocks to change. The vessels are relatively small and upgrading them block ny block is actually rather immersive as we like to say. Plus i get re-acquainted with how I put them together. For now, I'm not going to worry about it. However if you have any tips as to how to improve hit points on spotlights, I be pleased to hear them.
