Doh... I didn't mean to make ya feel bad... now I feel bad... So ya meant to say "Saucer Section"? I got the impression the first time, I just couldn't help the Typo being funny. It got me envisioning also "U.S.S." meaning "Universal Soccer Ship" as well... I once heard of a convo between 2 pals of mine where one was talking about something arm related & meant to say "Good Arm" but typo'd it & mistakenly typed "God Arm"... they got a kick outta that, then I did when I heard about it. I meant your typo oops in jest as well.
i quit drinking (for the most part) 30 years ago. I'd prefer to use my leftover lemons to make lemonade.
see, builds that pop out with different an unique shapes are the best, lot of ships inspire me to try too, but im hooked on my symmetrical ships, and anime sytle ships like the gundam ones ive been doing, tho i did not start with importing models i, with visual reference, made this as my first CV it was based after a forgotten with age gundam series called Mobile Suit Victory Gundam , the ship its based after is the Reinforce Junior
Figured out where I might put some hangars on the latest blueprint. Shifting gears, I had some ideas earlier today on some treatment and diagnostic rooms for my medical cruiser, so I implemented those this evening. Each medical "scanner" got its own room, but the two pictured above strongly resemble the remaining two. I had in mind a room for cryo stasis as if that is how they could handle some treatments or excess patients. However, I ran out of room on the medical floor for this so it became a feature of the hallway. Almost forgot an elevator up to the crew quarters, engineering, and command center(s). Of course, I still need to fill in all those details, but I think tonight's work wraps up the medical facility other than coming back and giving it the texture and paint treatments.
Got a bit more done on my CV Build. As much work as it was building the Exterior, surprisingly the remaining Interior Work is actually melting my brain harder then the Exterior... Then I still gotta hope this insane strategy i'm attempting turns out to even work.
Gundam has always had some pretty cool ship designs. I really need to finish Victory someday, I watched like half of it way back in the days of downloading horrible VHS rips from Kazaa and never picked it back up. It'd be interesting to try to do some of the earlier Zeon designs, the Musai or Zanzibar would be challenging to sculpt in EGS but could look pretty awesome if done right.
You're better at building than you think; For a first 'by-hand' build that's fairly impressive. My first stuff looked like a minecraft cobblestone cube house that someone stuck an obelisk on top of.
First, this shape isn't so unique to me. This CV is patterned after one of my SV. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1204423223 Having already tried imitation wings with my Dragonfly CVs, I didn't think repeating that with this would look good at all, so I dropped those for this CV. I also chose to replace the neck with a "wing" to join all the pods. In my previous post, I had included a bit of the concept plan I had put together and it showed thrusters to be placed in the wing. I wanted to try something very different from my norm. I had seen someone do a ring of thrusters around their central ship with all the thrusters protected on the inside of the ring. I didn't want to try and pull that off with my arch as I had something else in mind there... plus I would have had to make a full ring to complete more of the directions of thrust. Another one of my blueprints uses shafts also based off the ring concept. Here is the Archon in-wing thrusters: Part of my challenge in this design was the arch. If I had converted the Dream's arch straight across it would have had no cavity inside it. Still cramped in the arch, but I am hoping to get elevator/stairs inside there. That was actually another part of the concept in the spreadsheet page not shown where I tried to make sure I left a gap all the way up through the bend. I wanted this to have artillery turrets, but just sticking them somewhere on the hull seemed not quite right, thus... As you can see, I changed the hull up front to accommodate some turrets. Let's see if I can get a few other angles in here. You might see that some of this is still very much frame, and not every thruster fit nicely into the unique plan, so there a couple more traditional placements. Which actually brings this blueprint to 20 thrusters and 4 RCS currently. Of course, I haven't filled everything in yet, so the weight is going to go up and the acceleration down, but so far it looks very promising with just these thrusters and the 4 RCS.
That's a really nice and unique design! It looks pretty massive, how much does it weight and what are the dimensions? I really like the arrangement of the thrusters inside the pylon. Very creative!
i did do a gundam wing ORB battleship, tho came out kinda clunky i do plan to do a more but its hard to choose from
Third column from the left, half-way down, the purple one marked "380m" do that one. Call it the Purple POI Eater and let all cv guns work in atmo in config.... the Glory! Today In Empyrion this lowly grunt achieved an energy surplus. After taking down all the Omicron bases in 2 days (Left the PV Base hoping they will send more Piñata Planetary Vessels) It is about damn time I can stop worrying about getting shot at while hunting resources. Time to turn my attention to Orbit... and then the moon.
new update: just finished putting all the deco stuff in the entire ship, now it needs some fancying up more with textures/inside colors and maybe some other small tweeks and shes done, expect her to be done this month and on the workshop!
I think I'm regretting selecting MP scenario as SP because of the regeneration and other limitations. Oh well. I left Sienna and arrived on Aitis orbit... ...I decided to build orbital base on an asteroid. I got solar panels set up, big fly through hangar, garden area etc. Still very much WIP, but got the basics set up so I could start living in there... ...I did some sathium mining - and when I came back, I came back to this. First I thought it was just visual glitch, it will go away once I fly through it - but nope Regeneration had kicked in. I could god-mode it with the debug drill - but I think I will let it be and just start waiting for alpha 8.0, and play in the MP server in the meanwhile..... I usually do that only when others are around (more fun to do faction stuff together) so I tend to keep SP game 'in the side'. I did build a ship too, specifically for Aestus exploration. PSI Alligator. I will most likely bring this to the server and test it out there. More pics : Spoiler Idea was to make a dropship specifically for hazardous conditions with protective shielding on the bottom - which would also house most of the thrusters & stuff. Drone doors on both sides for working from the vessel - so you don't have to expose yourself to the planets atmosphere. I did a quick test flight on Aestus and took couple screenshots:
Aestus is gorgeous. A day on the Aestus is like a day on the farm. Every meal's a banquet! Every gold deposit a fortune! Every lava formation a parade! I love Aestus!
