That was a plus setting up. I hope that it will be more fair this way. Plus I can feel better putting my own stuff in there as well, since I wont be picking the winner now. Long live the Straw Poll!
I would like to throw my hat into the competition with my submission for your challenge. My SV file is located here: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198055156243/myworkshopfiles/?appid=383120 It meets all of your requirements with a few extras to be enjoyed. Thanks for looking.
I have updated the list on entries on the first post. Please review them and let me know if any were missed. Thanks!
I kept trying to warn peeps about this... but then new Designs keep popping up that make the mistake anyway. I've just plain given up & decided peeps can learn the hard way instead. Agreed. I have respect for those who can effectively build Micro stuff. Woah dude... we don't all have that kinda Energy, & literally NOTHING at all to do other then Jenn Challenges... let us others have a more relaxed Pace & give us a fair chance to be able to keep up. I'm not seeing mine... did my second Contest Entry fail too?
The Cricket (SV) Warp capable, short range..., single space marine carrying psycho powered open cockpit death wagon, in Empyrion blue and grey. Plasma cannons optional. Fridge, constructor, roomy cargo box and O2 tank standard. At 12 tons it's a real lightweight in it's class, but don't let that fool you. This baby operates best in the danger zone, harnessing every last bit of power it can from it's proprietary lightweight space age designed single generator/single tank power plant. Be a hero, just don't get hit. Workshop: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1303785730
Took me longer than expected to built this, in part because some tiger interrupted me and asked me where my last workshop submission went. Turns out four people disliked my ship in a short amount of time, surprising how many people feel this way about it in such a short timeframe. Anyway, here is my Teardropship because it is tear shaped and carries people (great pun, I know!): More pictures can be found on the workshop page: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1304062486 There are four passenger seats under the weapon mounts, there is an access hatch on top that lets you access the constructor, fridge, O² station, etc.. The entire ship is hardened steel to give it some protection, the front has multiple layers of armor.
I see my T4 Phantom is getting some competition in the dropship category.. Actually, wouldn't it be cool if we sorted the submissions into subclasses, like scout, heavy fighter, dropship etc.
@T431 , that would only start another one discussion on how classes are appointed and where to put multiroles.
Tubes (Second vessel submitted) Mid fighter for all round tasks. 2 passanger seats, 1 internal pilot seat.
Since everybody is throwing in a second one, i can not stay behind. So here's challenger 2 Personally i don't see this thing very usefull (lvl20), as warp SV's are merely meant to get some exotic mats around the starting planet vicinity. But then again it might be in some custom made universes. First time try with this cockpit (looks like its meant for a chopper), there's still 1 more i've never used but that will be for another time, lol. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1304424530 UPDATE Edit : changed out that chopper cockpit + added more protection on thrusters.
Just browsing the workshop and looking in the most popular/one week I am happy to see a handful of challenge builds on there! Great work everyone! Also we are on the downhill run for this challenge! So be sure to get all the submission in before time is up! Once the Challenge time is up, we'll get all the entries up on the polling site and will set a 2-Day deadline to vote for your favorite build! I still have a few more details, but I might have a quick sentence to have you add to your workshop description. (will be along the lines of this: Winner of ZeroG Build Challenge 01 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=751213629) Then we'll move onto the second challenge! I have it outlined already but you'll just have to wait!
We can hold a tournament with all these fighters and upload videos on youtube. That can do a lot of good to further promote the game, besides being a fun event by itself
That is a whole other beast to tackle there. If someone wanted to do that i would recommend starting a different type of challenge. I will conceed that battle and only focus on these challenge builds. I thinks it's a good idea though.
Alright. I got some extra time today so I bite. Here is Dreschner Corporations answer to the challenge: DSV Nightbreaker! It is a medium sized support vessel for light combat operations or search and rescue operations. Just under the maximum dimensions for the challenge and packs all the required devices. I armed her with 4 gatling guns since they have really become my personal go-to weapon of choice for casual causation of mayhem.
