I started building before I realized and understood that if I was going to build a ship 250+ Blocks from tip to tail I would need to place the core in the exact center to get the full potential of the size limitations. So 27K Iron bars into it i was forced to scrap it and start over. I started building the Battlestar Galactica again on Feb 7th. My tools, an architectural or scaling ruler, calipers and Macromedia Fireworks. I used these images to get my measurements (all of these these images below are not the exact ones used to scale the BSG, but some were) After making sure all the images were the same size i set my grid so that the length of the ship was at 25 grids long. 1 Grid Square = 10/16ths or 1 Block in game =1/16 of an inch Starting with the core i went 125 Blocks in either direction the blue blocks are increments of 10 Once I got the engine nacelles proportions correctly gauged with the ships stern i was able to proceed with the next step! Figuring out the keel or bottom of the ship or when looking at it from the front the lower jaw and belly. The immage above was Feb 16th One of the guys on my server found this blueprint for a nice viper that worked well scale wise so i made a few at this point i was at 22.7 Kt From here its was all down hill and just skinning out the skeletal frame Tell me what you think on twitter or just jump in my stream Always open to suggestions and would love any constructive criticism @GrandpaGamez
In between I went on a side tangent and Built a Raptor and a Cylon Raider (trying to keep them as close to scale as possible and still be functionally use/flyable here are all 3 I DID NOT BUILD THE VIPER its from a Blueprint a friend found for me so i do not know who to give credit for this piece of work thanks to you who ever you are! Sorry so dark but you get the idea.. did not look this dark when i took these screenies ..... i set up lights ... ^^Docked^^ ** again this Viper was from a blueprint i did not build it or any of the vipers I post** ^^Here is my version of a Raptor ^^ that is the cockpit above the Oxy tanks so you can enter cockpit from inside.
