At another members suggestion I uploaded both versions of the ship as separate builds. Now I'm debating on adding a warp drive to them, or keep the cost down and leave them as-is. CV-Space Repair Tug CV-Planetary Repair Tug
The first is the Galactica, which you should already be able to find different versions in the workshop. I like Number 9 These are screenshots of CAD software. Do you have the CAD files as well? This could be my next project and with the files I could save a lot of time.
Yes I do. Check pm. All these are my favorites but especially No 2 would make a wonderful hover vessel or even a small vessel dropship or something like that.
1st looks interesting, but the slope landing areas make texturing/symboling tricky. 2nd one would make a nice transport hover or SV. 3rd is also tricky because of the round shape. Thats why I haven't tried Mon Calamari ships yet. 4th can be nice with some more screenshots from different sides. The "space Subs" can get interior space problems, at least as CV but might work as big class SVs.
CD 710 Class Heavy Destroyer (front) finished last night. Projects waiting in the background .... who guesses all 5?
I had a slightly unnerving moment while taking AJAX out for a test drive. I decided to test fire her fixed weapons. the four rocket launchers worked fine except I had to maneuver around a bit to verify the fact. When tested, only 2 of the 5 pulse lasers appeared to be firing. i changed anble of view, verified there were no hidden obstructions and verified that there was NO recoil, so they were not firing. I removed and re-installed the weapons, restarted the game, and rebooted the computer, all to no effect. As a last ditch effort, i tacked on an extra laser to the hull. All 6 fired! i removed the extra laser and tested. All 5 fired. Happy as pig in you-know-what, I test fired the rockets again. Only 1 fired! WTF!!! So i tacked a rocket launcher to the hull. All 5 fired. Removed the extra and all 4 fired. Tested the lasers and al 5 fired. I know these little glitches occur from time to time, but usually, a restart or reboot does the trick. my one regret is that I didn't figure out that I could tack the extra weapon anywhere like directly in front of the escape hatch rather than next to the malfunction weapons. Would have made this whole episode go a lot quicker.
console "debugmenu", open the menu with the hand-icon (top-right button) and check the "Enable AI" box. Then you should be able to spawn enemies, drones included.
Am I correct in assuming that the grav generator has NO effect on docked HVs? That is to say if you un-dock a HV while in space it will just float around in the hangar? That appears to be the case. For the hell of it, i maneuvered out the door and it floated away (with me in it). The thrusters could push it in any direction EXCEPT toward the mothership! With forward thrusters blazing, I rotated the HV toward the ship where they would immediately idle down. I tried various combinations of thrusters that would push me in any direction EXCEPT toward the ship. I kept drifting further away, and as such, the HV was constantly moving so I COULD NOT EJECT! (I think this should be changed). I exited the game and here I am, TA-DAH!
Haaahahah, the mental picture , Lmao And yes, you are correct. Think you experienced that first hand now.
All that I can say right now is - 'millenium falcon' look-a-like CV in now finished inside also and I'm happy as a little baby! I'm ready for Alpha 8 in special quasi-SW style ... (drumroll) ... Iiiiiits SBC Empyrion Falcon Original ship design is not mine, as I already wrote before, but it is really great in size & looks! To be honest in original form is not very safe or useful in newer versions of game, because it is older build - but it is great to re-make it by your own likes & standards. I'm going to play a **** out of it now forevah My interior turn out excellent, it does not look anything like original MF because you can not do much with big 2m blocks and other limitations in small space - but you can add all of the current devices you need Who wants to take a shot on original blueprint, made by steam user Nash-Galactic it is here https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1312001200 Original & my take (I made more changes on outside than you can see in pics, but I also wanted to honor original) ... btw, on 'radar' position I will also put minigun turret or drill/multitool turret ... and two of them with 2 great real size 'millennium falcon' SV ships, CV is just a little bigger ... few more 'cool' pics ... interior in spaceship white, finished today
So, killing time once more, I resurrected another of my very old blueprints. I had updated this one a few time, hence why it's the Mk VII version of this design, but I've not used it in a while. It's quite expensive, being combat steel, and is a true mobile base that can defend its self reasonably well. I named it the "Titanesque" as my original idea was based on certain design elements of the Titan Wreck sections. This is only a class 7 CV, so not massive, but it's one of the largest ships I've created. FYI: this ship was build during a Survival game, like most of my other ships. So compromises have been made based on resources available. I think a new, major version landed before I completed this one, but perhaps I'll continue tinkering while I wait for 8.0. Anyway, here it is: Heh, once again I suck at screen shots. The ship looks so good on my screen and this doesn't do it justice. I'm aware it needs texturing, that's normally my final task and I had done some interior work, but nothing external. Scoob.
Not quite done with the Ebon Hawk but it's getting down to the final stages. I installed and tested the avionics today so that's done. I tried not to make the thrusters too obvious but some accommodations had to be made. I've made a couple small modifications to the design, notably adding a couple chairs/tables to the sleeping quarters(because dayum, it looked like a stable otherwise). Other than that I added a couple easter eggs but you'd have to knock down a couple walls to reveal them. I still need to install a few more components like more fuel tanks and the life support system and set up sensors for the doors and ramps. Not tonight though.
Hey, I'm glad to help whenever I can. It was really weird when the HV got all cock-eyed in the hanger still showing 0.80 m hover height when i'm up against the hangar ceiling staring at the floor! Oh, well. Another lesson learned.
