Flying round a planet in an SV for three hours looking for any of the 10 deposits of Erestrum the map says it contains and finding none of them. These big new planets want the deposits spreading out to at least give you a fighting chance.
For those that actually took a look at my display, there was hints at a few of my WIP in there. The Raven & Carri-On have both had pics of their progress shared here, but there has been no pics of the Condor. That is because the Condor was a concept for an alternate CV to dock the Carri-On with. It was always going to be bigger than the Raven, but I was struggling to come up with an idea I liked. Then I had the unexpected success docking @Jenniphurr's cargo container which led to adding a spot for @The Tactician[ Λ ] 's cargo container. Suddenly I had the realization what the Condor needed to be. Now it is still very much a work in progress. Spoiler: Pics There is "docking" for four of Jenniphurr's containers and at least six of The Tactician's. The Condor is still missing the back end where there would be accommodations for two of my Carri-On. I think the ridge along the top needs some serious remodeling, but I think I want to get more of the vessel in place before focusing too much on some of the details. The interior "hangar" would have storage and parking for up to 18 Sparrow sized SV/HV, if I counted correctly.
And the GalactiMax Container Starship class is born. And Well Done sir. You will be my minister of transportation when I conquer the galactic arm.
Evidently I have a serious case of the bloxies <builders diarrhea> and crapped another lvl 3 structure out. Gun Tower, Mk. 3 Gonna take me a while to need to build another thing. so hopefully I got this out of my system for a while.
i figured AEGIS In. is dead by now and ignoring my health i posted 2 older finished projects i got done AEGIS Stealth Destroyer, witch i had canceled but decided to release it anyway finished as it is and AEGIS Docks witch i had help with long time ago, and was the original AEGIS HQ build till the real build got came to life. both projects i worked on months ago but the Destroyer i finished last week do to my health im not going to be on much game or PC time anymore and ive already seen a decline in my AEGIS popularity Decrease, ill keep building but think AEGIS is going down hill, and dont get me wrong on the popularity just a good motivational thing is all, mostly do to my inactivity do to my health im guessing, ill be back at 8.0 but till then enjoy guys.
I'm not ashamed to say that i envy your talent of creating masterpiece buildings! The level of absolute beauty and awesomness is unrivaled in my opinion.
Thank you very much, Neal. Still a bit disappointed with myself that it's basically "another Kieve 'Spire," but there's a lot of individual elements in the Showroom that I tried to experiment with. I'd hardly call it "unrivaled" but I do enjoy building these. (It's my dream to one day live in a house I designed). I have to say, I really like the thick "slab" of the bridge roof. Give it that intimidating "angry" look, very awesome.
So yeah, Bad and good today. Bad? Computer froze and corrupted the map. Good? I'm putting those silly cheap items I made to use now with real need. 2.25 hours in and Just put a suit of armor on... but Only because I had a stupid cheap shack to throw up and mount the locker in. Now back to finding that stupid tower...again. Addendum: shortly after this I left to find silicon, like That is a surprise, and came back to the rear of the shack ripped off and the core missing... no wreckage no signs of WTF happened... moving locations now... not that I Liked my 8-legged neighbors anyhow.
I think I have the back end of the Condor patched together for now. However, there are now a few problems I need to solve. Mostly, connecting the container access to the interior of the vessel in some intelligent manner. Well, that and adding some access to the roof of the vessel to get at the Aegis containers, but that part should be easy. The challenge is the access to the Zero-G containers as well as my own Carri-On. I might take a break from the Condor as I contemplate how this will work without serious remodeling. The vessel is already three blocks longer than my original goal. I see the space there where I think it can be done, but I am experiencing a builder's block envisioning how that part of the interior might be done. Spoiler: Pics The top ridge got a rework. In the spirit of the FTB line of capital vessels, the Condor got twelve turrets, probably making this a well armed freighter for its class. Both the Pelican and Turkey are capable of holding far more turrets than the default config, and the Condor is shaping up to form. In fact, it could include two artillery turrets, with a few options for placement. Each of the barriers dividing up the upper ridge for the Aegis container docking were expanded to be three blocks wide, so each of those dividers could sport a standard turret. And plenty of other places where a turret could be placed. That central hangar got a third door added for access from underneath the rear of the vessel. While the ramps up to the docking pads for the Carri-On SV would allow other HV to be parked there instead (as long as they fit between the "clamps"), those ramps were actually in the hopes that HV-SV docking would eventually become reality. Then I would build a version of the Carri-On that had accommodations for small HVs. So the ramp was planned so that a docked Carri-On ramp should extend for easy transition to the CV ramps. I suppose I ought to add landing gear, but for now I am just pleased with how the hull has come together. [edit] I am going to have to write that down somewhere, so when I finally finish the beast I can use this as part of the description.
So, I've been more or less beating my head off a wall for the last week, trying to put together a good starter BA for A8. Couldn't seem to find my inspiration, nothing I tried seemed to work... On a whim, I decided to spawn in my old early-game A5 starter, Lacuna. And for whatever reason, something *clicked*. Ended up tearing it apart right down to the foundation, but I have to say I'm quite pleased with the results. Lacuna, on the left, with new rework Basalt on the right. Though unfortunately, I have since come to realize that the mineral basalt is actually black and I probably should've picked a different name for it...
Nice Kieve. My bases are all random box like shapes built under the ground. Some day I will set to and design something pretty. But I can say for certain that all my bases are original.
Nah, it gives your buildings a unique identity. They are extremely pretty and stylish that way. And your Jag is awesome, although I may be biased due to my Jaguar fanboyism... I actually crashed my ancient Java phone's browser twice trying to upvote it, clicking the upvote button has a 3/5 chance of crashing it's browser.
Underground bases can be really cool, it gives you a lot of freedom with your layout since the exterior is buried anyways. With some inspiration you can really get creative with it.
Was too tired last night to post, but I've been working on some of IceCat's older builds. Here are Gladius and Lancer, both are Advanced Models needing Rare Ores. I'll be doing Lance Stock and a couple others today. I haven't published them yet.
I've only done a couple underground bases. They're in my workshop, near the beginning. I built them above ground with SI turned On, so they are stable enough to spawn above ground to adjust and customize. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197993524107/myworkshopfiles/ Side note: how do I link my banner to my workshop?
What you want to do is select your banner in your signature, then press the link button and enter your workshop link That'll turn it into a button like this.
