Depends if you're going to over-clock or not and case air flow. Intel processors, the stock cooler is fine. AMD get something with multiple copper cores. If you're going to over-clock, liquid cooling kits are nice. The one you have posted with the nice radiator is great. It really depends on how much you're going to OC. This will determine how much flow you need, how many row cores inside the radiator are needed. Lots to consider. The corsair on the Intel is better than the AMD water cooler that comes with the 9590CPU, but the Corsair cooler is double the size, the Intel chip on the corsair double fan water cooler keeps that CPU nice and cool even under big loads, the AMD water cooler that came with the 9590 is pretty good for a stock but under heavy load the CPU temp slowly climbs a little, I expect in summer , as its spring here now, the corsair cooler will shine ahead, in saying that the AMD cooler has never let the CPU get anywhere near hot. Yet. The corsair cooler was around 100 bucks, the AMD one came with the CPU, Intels CPU cost me well over a 1000 bucks and came with no cooler, the AMD CPU came with the water cooler for around 450 bucks, the difference between these CPU's in Empyrion is not a huge amount, for rendering I would say pretty equal. For processing the Intel shines ahead slightly, ingame the intel handles things like constructors better or more of with no lag, both pc's can handle every massive build and massive maps I throw at them, and both the R9 290 and the GTX 980 breeze through Empyrion, where these two pc's have a big difference is in GTA5, now the Intel is shining ahead over the AMD. If GTA 5 was my main favourite game I might be suggesting to build Intel for the best of the best performance. But Empyrion is my favourite game, by a long way, and I play most of my day on the AMD in Empyrion, I cant wait however to test dedicated servers when they come on the Intel, my hope is to use it as the dedicated server for home here, as I have a bunch of Empyrion addicted kids here now ! I don't overclock anymore, CPU's are so powerful now it seems a little futile for gaming. I do sometimes experiment to see if it makes a difference, but most of the time for games like GTA5 it just makes the system unstable. An old trick I still do [ cos Im a little nutty ] that probably don't need to anymore is with RAM speed I always buy RAM rated at a speed higher than what I expect to run it at, for example the RAM in the Intel is capable of 2400mhtz and the RAM in the AMD is capable of 1866mhtz, what this does is guarantee your RAM runs a lot cooler, and at lower latency timings in general, this is what pedantic people do ! LOL ! LOL LOL ! Or is it just my OCD kickin in ! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOlolololol ! MMmmmmmmmmmu u u u u u u s s s s st t t t t t gggggg g g g g o o o o p p p p ll l l a aaa y y y !

This came with a case and you might notice the 80mm fan I popped inside it. It just needs to be a really narrow 80mm fan.... the 25mm thick ones are too thick, this one was I think 15mm thick.
