Cylon Basestar update: Ok so I redid the elevators in the hangar deck again. I like how it turned out.

    Area 7.6_2018-05-10_12-51-09.png

The lower decks are laid out. Each quadrant is identical since they all serve the same purpose....thruster housing, power generators, fuel tanks, etc. The only difference is there's a gravity generator stuck in one of the corners but it's in an area that no one really needs to go. It's kind of convoluted down there so it's hard to get a decent pic of the area.
    Area 7.6_2018-05-10_12-58-16.png

The upper decks are laid out now. The seat for the cockpit/Imperious Leader is right in the middle. The corridors have openings so you can look down below to the hangar. No railings though!

    Area 7.6_2018-05-10_12-58-36.png

Each of the four quadrants on the upper deck serves a different purpose: warp drive & manufacturing, food production, lab/medical, and crew quarters. Just finished those up. Going to let it sit a day and then go back over it and see if it needs anything else. Of course I still need to paint and texture the whole thing. Need to find spots for o2 stations too.

That is by far my favorite detail, but it's actually not the first time I've used it - I did the same for the plants in my Showroom as well. Though Starwing told me I needed to take a broom to the place...

Really, really cool. And I say that as someone who's never watched BSG and lacks an ... "appreciation" for it.

The only problem with this "workaround" is you constantly have to reset it because the cam does not retain settings other than the fixed 1st and 3rd persons. If the devs were to allow the cam to retain settings it would make most people happy.

Awesome! More than happy to post it up here.

I'll just do a minor adjustment on it. I forgot to put the core in a sensible place lol. I'll have it posted soon. :)

    And it's here!

Thanks! There aren't exactly a lot of pictures for the old Basestar's interior. There are like two shots of the hangar and this ship isn't nearly big enough to recreate that so I'm making this up as I go. I've been trying to break out of my usual creative habits and expand my repertoire so to speak too. This is definitely turning out better than the Battlestar I made. Might have to revisit that in the future and make another(larger) one.

I wasn't talking about BPs. Just being able to adjust the cam to the individual's liking and have the settings saved so you aren't constantly having to reset it no matter what you are doing, unless you prefer a different setting for different tasks. I don't know of many who like having to constantly change cam settings.

    Blasphemy!! Heretic!!

OK, yeah, the original is a bit campy although it was awesome to a 11-year-old... and the new one was the first SyFy original I liked. It was awesome to the mid-thirty-year-old I was at the time. Right up till the last hour where RDM took 4 years of awesome and used it to wipe his... 59:35 into the last episode should have been the final shot...

Started yet another attempt for a starter base for alpha 8...
Yet it looked similar again, for the 3rd time, and didnt match the 'design' (actualy 'feeling') required for the brand it was supposed to be used for.

Thus I re-textured it all over, and herby present you my interpretation of what it remineded me all along... a: Little Chappell

No, no! I was just joking. I should've said that first. I put rust on some things and you can joke with me about my poor maintenance skills. ;)

Any ideas on how to remove some old stuff immune to multitool and debug rifle? I have Megahammer's MS Titan which has the old forcefield... Once, I took out one of those things called "forcefield emmiiter" or something while I was ripping everything appart like crazy, but that's all I could do...

The motorcycle on the wall would look very cool in a rec room or crew lounge.

I love small mining oriented CV's. Very basic functions, mining turrets, usually no growing plots or other 'base CV' stuff - but a small sized capital vessel that can do mining and carry your hover miner around. Vessels that are perfect to do small mining trips - either by yourself or with a small group.

Since the mining turrets were introduced in the game, I've built them - and usually in survival.

In the order of apperance - left to right:

Sampo - very cheap, very basic, very simple, cannot warp - but very effective as a miner.

SXV - bit more luxurious with inside hangar & growing plots. More of a all around vessel that can do mining.

UMS - All out miner, maximum amount of turrets. Four CV mining turrets and dockable HV turret with four HV mining turrets - and in addition can carry a hover miner.

Packrat - One of the latest additions to the line - support & repair vessel. Has two multi tool turrets in front (not currently equipped) - and one mining turret (not currently equipped). Big open hangar in back built for specific support HV with multi tool turrets. Small crew quarters and such for bit longer missions. Not yet on Workshop in case you're wondering.

'No Name Yet' - Still a work in progress, unlike all others in this group - this is a creative build. Deep space exploration miner. Heaviest firepower of the bunch with four turrets and one artillery cannon. Very limited hangar space for one miner HV - and like many of the others in this group, SV platform in the roof. Only one location for mining turrets - but I would like to have more and multi tool turrets too. We will see how it will shape up in the end...

Nice ships, you can really see your building improving with each one. The cockpit on the fourth is quite simular to a mining ship I made, so you certainly know how to do your cockpits.

Serving as a crew member on both, UMS and Packrat I can tell they both are amazing creations that does function very well. I was especially impressed how tightly the Packrat used available space to fit in so much stuff. So much functionality in these! :)
