Cool. Hope they don't treat them like my greenhouse pod- somebody cut the entire bottom layer off (because I guess they couldn't figure out how to use PgUp/PgDn to place ) ... now it won't hold pressure and newbies gonna think I don't know how to build a base...
Banged on things a bit, wore out a couple of Trout and a full Haddock, But got the Outpost iterations, done, documented, and displayed. Also I figured out how to make the Pictures links and small so I am Happy! Mk. 1 Mk. 2 Mk. 3 Mk. 4 I hope folks enjoy These as much as I have... Well OK Not That Much... 'Twould be indecent.
I am having FAR too much fun building Space:1999 stuff. But I need to work on a Car dealership for civilian goodness. So far: Eagle (without pod) Standard Eagle Survey Eagle VIP Eagle Rescue Eagle Cargo Eagle (no cargo) To do: Supply Eagle (Mostly empty with a few seats) Winch Eagle (mostly for show, no working winches yet...) Cargo Eagle with Nuclear containers Laboratory Eagle (modified science) Tanker Eagle (new build, not canon) Laser Eagle Side boosters for high-grav planets Dorsal Fuel/Speed Booster (Will provide SV Warp capacity) Mark IX Hawk Meta Probe Ultra Probe Swift Super Swift Moon Buggy Laser Tank Transport Tube Car Space Dock (Note: Empyrion's got a Space:1999-looking-spacedock, already...) Moonbase Alpha
Ok I am so very done with playing a game with ugly graphics and a total lack of environmental immersion. Just look at these photos....would you want to continue playing this game? I mean just look at that And I made a thing.....to carry my other things...
Awful, @hound. Simply AWFUL. You should just QUIT RIGHT NOW and go be a tax accountant. --- Meanwhile, as ̶t̶h̶r̶e̶a̶t̶e̶n̶e̶d̶ promised, Daimon Motors is now in business... (rich CORINTHIAN leather...)
Well I was tinkering, wanting to build, but lacking inspiration. What could I do that wouldnt be a hassle with voxels? Weeeeellll.... it got a little silly, but SO PERFECT TOO. Yes it's made of Legos. Bit of backstory, I made this (the real thing that is sitting on my desk right now) like, 15 or 20 years ago. Actually the original was made by my brother when I was VERY young, he wanted to build something I couldn't break - well it got taken apart, but I had really liked it...so I rebuilt it (as close as I could get) later. The Red Lobster II, is one tough cookie. In honor of the times it has survived drops, tosses, and being repeatedly thrown at walls, I build this replica of all combat steel. Interior isn't exactly finished but I had fun making this. The underside bits don't quite align to the way the pegs on the top set the scale but... like... who's gonna care? Heh. Spoiler: Underside & real thing pics Oh and the original:
You ever get that really stupid idea in your head, and your mind won't let you go to sleep until you get it out? Yeah. Say goodnight, Gracie!
I haven't forgotten. Just been busy. Completed two of the rebuilds and finishing up on the third. May be posting pics tomorrow. Goodnight, Gracie.
Was getting a little frustrated yesterday. A few POI were kicking my butt. I really didn't want to build some ultimate tank or SV. Instead, I built a prototype mining HV and dug up under the first of the offending POI and used the other side of the HV to blast a hole in the bottom. Then I returned to base and grabbed a tiny HV to drive through the tunnel and up into the basement. Couldn't find the core. Watched a Youtube video and realized that if I had just looked a little better in the area I had already canvased. Spoiler: Pics One part mining HV. My biggest one yet. And one part military. The gatling guns are to punch a hole. The turrets are in case something falls through the floor into the tunnel. The vehicle is standard steel. This was built to mine resources and attack from underneath. It is NOT meant to take on drones or turrets. Just some defenses just in case when punching a hole in the floor of a target structure. Test was conducted on Oscutune.
I was playing around with an old build today, after I had a random thought that suggested I align the nacelles horizontally instead of vertically. I think it turned out better than the original, I have a few more tweaks to go but I think it looks much better this way. The rebuild is on the left, the original is on the right.
The shape of the horizontal pods compliments the lines of your ship. For me, that gun pod is also worth keeping. It would be fun with a brace of 150mm rocket launchers.
Tonight was productive! Spent the vast majority of my day / evening in Creative assembling this little beauty - Pinnacle, small-scale outpost intended for gaining a good foothold on the moon. And so far, it's working exactly as intended... Spoiler Fought with this one far longer than I wanted to, but the end result I'm pretty happy with. Basically a smaller solar-powered Argentspire, minus the 'spire'. Unfortunately, I derped a little with the blueprint and forgot an ammo box for the turrets, will be the first thing I fix when I get the chance. Gotta have space for my ride! ...or anyone else's, in theory, but it's a small hangar so probably only Timo's little Cheapo would fit. Garden was one of the first things I attended to, after installing the ammo box. Also, it would seem we can no longer obtain the medical scanners from "tech" deco - I had to copy-paste those over from a different blueprint. Very peculiar! Guess Eleon wants us all making pills & potions now. Constructor upstairs. Replaced the basic with an advanced version, but it's only a Large Con. by default. Two storage boxes hidden around the corner. And of course, a briefing room as well. The one back in HQ is currently serving well as our nerve center, and are of vital importance in continuing our expansion outward. *edited for tone. Due to the time, I didn't have much opportunity to do more than plant my ass on a barren rock and do some scouting. That was more than enough to annoy the locals though, and resulted it a few scuffs & dings to buff out. Sometimes you gotta be a little tricky to get those hard-to-reach spots. Luckily, the Wildcat was intact (no blocks lost), so it was nothing the multitool couldn't handle.
