I think I've pretty much finished the outside of my "low resource starter hv". I'm pretty happy with it overall. I might change a few things here and there when I start texturing it though. Also I don't know if anybodies mentioned this idea before but if you're building a hv it's really worth making a hv starter block that has these outriggers so you can remove a few blocks from your base and work on the underside. Its saved me a lot of mucking about! Just make sure they're far enough apart that they don't get in the way.
Looks really nice so far! I do similar with the outriggers, except when I start a build I throw a tower of truss blocks up from my base and place the HV/SV/CV starter on that. Then I build out and down so it rests on the landing pad and then remove the truss blocks. Same idea, it just saves me digging up my actual landing pad
Supposedly... "Regarding the famous number, "We had people threatening to sue us. It was the Buffalo Chief of Police's daughter's number in New York," said frontman Tommy Heath." which if true could well be taken as yet another sign that Murphy is in fact all too real
Both of you have incredible designs! Nicely built! Love that A-sym! I also built something fun; everyone seems to have there fun early survival HV's, and I decided to try my hand at one. This is "Crass": Definitely has a touch of inspiration from HV pre-fab 2, but other than that, is my first attempt. Light cycle and explorers cube were fun, but not really all that useful, this should be better. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1393002329 Enjoy!
Nice work, as always. I very much like the style of your HV. You get a lot of look with very little material.
SO for today i managed to finish up few more rooms plus logic systems for them still lot to do to finish that beast (regret i went for that big size....
Your asymmetry inspired me to make my first asymmetric ship! For now, I've dubbed it the "Fixer Runabout mk1" (pending a more creative title). It's a basic L7 SV with all the comforts of home except a mobile constructor (as it requires cobalt now). The central area is designed for drone launching (both shutters are connected to the switch above where the mobile constructor would go), though in practice it doesn't work quite as well as I'd hoped (you have to stand on the hazard-painted area to actually get the drone launched; the safety department is not pleased). Opposite the cockpit is a shutter door that allows access to what amount to two weapons hardpoints; it's not really necessary, but I decided it would be interesting to allow installation/repair from inside the ship. Of course, that area could also be filled with cargo boxes if need be. I'm not sure if I'm entirely happy with the textures yet, but, in the meantime, this'll probably be my new go-to survival SV (126 iron, 102 copper, 109 silicon).
This is a welcome sight, rather than scattered POIs here and there. Almost like an actual colony- Trading Station, Mining Hub, Research Center, and 2 Settlements. Sorry about the dark, it was night
I think I've nearly finished with this now. I'll go over it again in a couple of days and tweak anything I'm unhappy with but its nearly there.
@Sasquatch I can't quite pinpoint why, but I really really like this design. It just feels so... right... to me.
Gave my ERA-C Ruiser a little bit more love: * Lights via sensors * Redone maintenance hall Here is the new maintenance hall: Spoiler There is still room for more improvements, but the sizeclass already bothers me, as it became 15. I think it is quiet 'ok' (at least for) now.
