So I played around with the SSG today. Boy that was fun! /sarcastic. I mean I did learn stuff that is good right!? I wanted to make some large continents, but seems that those are difficult to make and I only end up with tons of small islands. But I was able to get a few of them going. But that is for another time. Tonight I worked for a couple of hours on Atlas-X. Had to compromise some changes to make room for the new thruster pods. So Lets get to it!

See the orange cargo module there, well I am thinking maybe a upper maintenance room with a place for the repair console. Maybe a crane with the repair block on it? Unless repair blocks can only be place on the ground that idea might not work.

Oh well, how do you all like the direction Atlas-X is going?

    the large version? ...
dont know what you want to tell me dude - sry.

this transport is only a prototype yet. so it is a civil ship only. did you mean that the armor would be better upgrade?
the armor is "normal" in the prototype but will be upgraded, so larger this ship would be.
actually it has a lot of transport capacity for much amount of loot. no weapons - only 2 drill turrets.

my personally problem is, i built too many blueprints over the last 3 years. in every hour i build between 10 and 70 blueprints for empyrion.
the real problem is, i have too much of them, so that i doesn´t know what i can do with them all while i begin for rebuild older blueprints into newer game versions. my harddrive is flooding over while with every new update, comes new content into the game.
now i, testing out what will realize or not, for upload into the workshop or over the forum.

the block limitation are a smart problem - yes i know it, since the beginning of empyrion. if you look to the "venator class" made by my friend arturius, you can see what i mean. he building this ship over hours with an extreme large size. 1-2 updates later, the vessel was incompatible for the main game. in my eyes are too huge ships not good itself because the invested time and workpower.
smarter and modular ship builds are better i think. you can update it every time, every update and customize it whenever you want. this is what i test out know, which vessels be modular enough for release and with luck, integradeable into the game.

i wasn´t very active since 1.5 years because personally life and work, but how i know the dev-team, it can be possible that they plan to integrade unisize- faction ships as AI or standard blueprints in later updates. this tells me the changelogs from alpha 8.0, if i think some months into the future. the 8.0 update are the "requirement" that some dreams comes true. ;) ...

so many guys waiting since the alpha 1.5.2 that the 8.0 will be released XD ..also from the content i mean. however - since the beginning of empyrion - the poles on the planets were a extremly problem. now they are open. anything must be step by step so, i think the standard- block limitations are only 1 thing under much more. (btw you can set the blocklimit on or off in the config files ;) so i remember)

Did a couple more videos yesterday, but didn't get them uploaded until today.

While my Sweet Lemons collection is planned for at least two SV, there is only one that is a WIP. So I decided to show some of the HV.

This next one I don't really want to remake the video. Part of the reason I am making these videos is to share my current work with my nephew. I introduced him to EGS a month ago or so. A few weeks ago I got to see some jeeps he had created. I think several here would have liked them. They only had one visual flaw, very back heavy so much so that it was plainly obvious. But otherwise, beautiful creations.

In this next one I realized afterwards that I should have shut off the access "doors" of the Swallow. A bit loud. But as I said, at this point I don't want to remake the video.

Includes the Carri-On C, my largest SV and what I affectionately call my flying brick. My nephew has seen that one. He hosted a creative server a few weeks ago, which is where I saw his stuff. In the process, he got a chance to shoot at some of mine, the Carri-On being one of them. At one point he said it could no longer fly. I said, "Oh, yes, it can." I got in the cockpit and demonstrated that the Carri-On was a resilient bugger, though I did have to fly it sideways because ALL the aft thrusters had been destroyed. That demonstration is not included here.

So the "small" vessels of my FTB collection.

And I think I got my nephew and niece excited about EGS when I gave them a tour of the WIP I have called the Grand Emperor, a carrier that I have been working on for my Dragonfly Industries collection. A tour I gave them while their family was visiting. My niece really wanted to convince their mom to get Minecraft. My sister (their mom) didn't understand the appeal to Minecraft, but something with actual shapes instead of just building with squares.... Well, you could say I sold my niece and nephew on EGS as well as getting their mom to accept it. So this next video was a demonstration where I parked the Haemolymph in that very carrier. The video was to demonstrate how I handled a situation where my SV was too big for the standard hangar door approach, so you won't get the tour they got. Maybe another time.

Awesome, thanks man! I wonder how much ammo was expended during that battle, and who won? (if any)

One thing about such large ships is the number of turrets which needs to be configured for target prioritization, it would be real nice if we could set target priorities for weapon groups instead of individual turrets, or be able to save turret configuration with the blueprint. I usually set all smaller turrets to focus on the enemy's weapons and turrets only whilst the artillery cannons are set to take out generators and thrusters as well, it helps to save ammo.

With a lot of turrets I'd prefer to be able to slave them to one or more turrets which could then be worked by a gunner.

Yesterday I took Gryphon out for an exploration adventure and photo shoot, then got her uploaded to the Workshop this morning.

She was designed and built by @Friendly Timo and I finished up her exterior. We began working on her near the end of our 6.0 adventure, and the texture update did her a lot of good--except navy blue paint needed to be changed to royal blue because the navy blue emissive textures come out looking like baby blue. :( You'd think it would be darker because it's the darkest blue, but the royal blue emissive textures light up very much like the former navy blue ones. I think the royal blue enhances the look of the fleet, in my opinion, so it wasn't a disappointing forced change at least!

Her emissives make flying in 3rd person view quite nice for me. :) Of course, I design for our tastes and hope other people can enjoy our projects as well. I am personally proud of the work I did on her exterior, because this was only my second vessel exterior project.

This is my go-to first SV every game. I do love how well balanced she is, and fighting with her gives me the confidence that I can fly almost as smoothly as my factionmates--who are like pro-pilots. :) When I have a lesser vessel, I am an embarrassing pilot who should lose her flight clearance. :p

Last night I learned that actions have consequences in 8.0. I had been taking my sweet old time to get any structure up and running, because I had a blueprint I had I wanted to spawn in, which means I had already slept a few nights in order to only work in the daylight. Well, I had just enough stuff to get it going, but no Promethium and very little biofuel to power it, let alone enough resources to make bullets. Long story short, as soon as I set the base down, a drone is sent to my base. I panic, and start trying to quick build solar panels so I can keep the power on to make bullets to fight this thing. Doesn't work, the drone destroys my base, and I end up reverting to the last save. :(

Lessons learned: sleeping has consequences in terms of advancing the ai and don't put a base down unless you have sufficient resources to power and defend it.

Okay, the Workshop hate has finally gotten to me :( I uploaded Gryphon this morning and some haters hammered her with negatives until she's buried on the 6th freaking page of SVs in the Workshop. Now no one will see her but the haters here in this forum who did that.

    Thanks guys. Love you too!

Just that the external gens would be awfully vulnerable- but on actually spawning the BP, I see there is even more redundancy than I thought since you have internal gens also... of course 16 T1 gens does up the resource cost a good bit. And yes, I know it's a WIP- that's why I'm giving constructive feedback- it's a very nice looking ship.

The other issue I see is the exposed thrusters inside the vessel, as well as the warp core. In use, the ship will fry and irradiate the crew- see the first two images. One potential solution would be to hollow out the rear drive section for the jump drive- you could build a pretty nice engine room back there, although some extra work would be needed to seal the compartment beyond what I show in the third image. Moving the core also gives the benefit of a whole new forward compartment to use ;)

Your base design is beautiful, it just needs some tweaking yet :D

I don't put BPs on the workshop. If someone requests it here (Which has happened exactly twice so far) I'll post it here. The Workshop isn't about design anymore, it's about clans of wannabe griefers who haven't moved on from the poo-flinging monkey stage of existence.

@Starwing6 , you and @Friendly Timo collaborated to make a real work of art. Try not to let the workshop tossers get under your skin :)

I'd gladly give that beauty an up-vote, but sadly, in protest I refuse to agree to the Steam Guard so can't vote or comment.

Ha! Indeed & a most app description :D
    ----
so I conquered my terror and went out to the deck beast with several bushels of food. She/He (? i don't wanna know!) chased me back inside :( but after a bit gobbled up the spilled food. So I emptied the fridge & processor and tossed it all out. Eventually seemed to calm down so I snuck up and slapped down a core, ha! Mine!
Took off and other than trying to fly with that giant tail in the way, things went well. Found an Armory and said, "Sic er!" and 'she' tore into the four(?) turrets. Without much manuvering on my part she took the turrets down pretty quick with just five Cannons. Didn't take much damage (96%), no lost bits. Overall went much better than I'd have guessed. Now just need to hire some gullible vet to dock her tail...
    ----
    Serious question: I hadn't attempted a land POI using a CV in a really long time. Has something major changed? {med difficulty atm}

So here is a BP illustrating what I'm trying to say re: the warp core. Again, just making suggestions- this would still need to be fleshed out
