Gotta Link to something I can Sign? ROFL!!! Epic Story of hilarious fun! XD Umm... when I said 'Link'... I meant 'Link to Thread'... not 'Link to Pic of Thread'... Pride can be dangerous... it can Corrupt into full blown Arrogance... *Insert Yoda Emote here* Now that's a purdy Light Show! If ya are still alive after this Excursion, please do write back to us & tell us if it turned out to be a Ackbar style "It's a Trap!!!" or not. Ooooooo... I like this dude... (The one in the Vid Thumbnail...) though imho it could use 2 more Gatlings to go with the other 4... Sometimes I get angry too... when I do, I tend to find it a good idea to Emergency Self Quarantine myself & stay off Forums till I feel better... *Squints at the Map seeing if I can spot Kevin Costner anywhere...* But... but... i've always wanted a Lightning Gun for Empyrion... & a Lightning Cannon... *Wonders how much & often the 'Q' & 'E' Keys have to be abused to keep that dude upright while holding still or driving on uneven Terrain...*
i started a thread but i might go back to the workshop and just deal with it, now that i know its 1 guy who 10 accounts doing it im not frustrated anymore
Roll your eyes at'em, pity them, & move on. They can't escape the fact that they do what they do because they can't EARN their Victory...
Now that SSG works again for me i've created a 270 playfield scenario. It contains: * Lava * Lava HG * Temperate * Temperate HG * Temperate Water * Alien * Alien HG * Desert * Desert HG * Barren * Moons (only all Default genearted ones, atm) * Orbits (only all Default generated ones, atm) Now obviously it'll contain HG starter planets for SEA and ERA. This said, let me give you a glimpse on the scenario's first non-egocentric starter planet, 'captured' by AEGIS! Currently fine tuning on the AEGIS planet/orbit: Spoiler: Doules, Temperate Water (this Portal/Trader section was added by me, trying to adapt the AEGIS style) Space base / TSO aside, all public structures are there to be captured! -> Finders, keepers! Spoiler: Stetia, HG Spoiler: Is it just me seeing a horned guy holding a sword?? Cant wait to have Vertigo Prime finsihed EDIT: By HG i refer to High Gravity, as in more than 1.1G. (the very lowest end of that range… *cough cough*)
@Dragon loved your battlestar so much, i asked if one of my friends, since atm i dont have my pc to build me a Colonel ship. and when its done something like this
Finally found a lava moon... No ice or temperate ones, though- all the rest are the boring stock ones... Nasty planet overall.. but lots of Neodymium.. Finally have some crew for this salvaged wreck, but not giving up hope on finding Jenny and the old crew...
Count again. Both HV tanks caught in the respective thumbnails each have six gatling guns. Though I admit that the last two gatling guns on the Dragonfly Industries video thumbnail are a bit hard to see in that picture. Hint: they are painted black in a black section of the HV tank. As for the WIP captured for Inspiration Traders, I had an easier time spotting the six gatling guns. As for what I referring to with SI, a little show and tell.
Thanks man! I may do some more detailing on it next week when I'm on leave. That's another nice colonial ship design you got there and your friend seems to be doing a great job replicating it so far, I could do with a better mid-game CV, the battlestar Ragnarok is a very, very late game ship and probably more of a force projection tool. It does overpower and obliterate OPVs pretty nicely though.
@dpburke2 Your Arkon looks very nice! SI is Sadly Instable What you can do though, is to place it as used to. Then swich to gm mode and place some additional blocks the the lower columns. Not best method, but it works.
I've been playing a lot of Conan Exiles lately and it's interesting how they've handled structural integrity. The foundation has 100 stability. Add a piece vertically and inherits the stability of the piece below it. Add a piece horizontally and it loses 20 stability each time. You still end up needing support columns(probably more than Empyrion does) but that could be changed by altering how much SI is lost every time you add another piece. And of course it doesn't support arches/domes and certain instances where connecting structural elements together should strengthen it. Maybe that kind of calculation would slow the game down too much or it's just really complicated. Dunno. They let you see the value too by mousing over a block using a repair hammer(the watered down equivalent of the multi-tool's repair function). At no time can I add a piece and watch half the structure crumble. It either works or it doesn't. If there's not enough SI it won't let you place the piece. That was refreshing. Conan is a lot less janky when it comes to building. 'Course they don't have a creative mode or nearly as many build tools as Empyrion either. Damn do I miss the mirror mode and other tools when trying to build something in Conan. I wonder if Empyrion's SI bug has anything to do with the blueprint's distance from the player. Like, past a certain point it just fails to calculate SI when placing a blueprint. /might be puttering around in Empyrion today for a change
Just watched your vid, which really helped to 'see' what you're up against. Couple things caught my eye, besides the Arkon which is really cool Initially wondered if the SI was getting calc'd from the Cores position, but when you were underneath the base I could see that the Core is basically in the middle, so pretty unlikely that relocating it would help. That leads me to think that possibly the SI 'center' is actually the Player. And then some radius from there. Wonder if it might work if you placed the base while looking straight down? Also I'm curious what would happen if you recalculated SI? Can't recall if that's a console cmd or somewhere in debug? Edit: forgot to mention but in Creative I always turn on godmode so I can fly faster & not hear the jetpack
Oh yeah and another hint… Sorry didnt think of that before. Ignore the colums - that go 'deeper' than the base itself. Cut them off. So there is a 'flat line' as the Bottom of the base. Save blueprint. Double click entry in F2-screen check: "Flatten Terrain" (on the fly Translation) As value in the field above, ener "-2" (add +2, actualy subtract 2) for any further row of blocks… eg, for 1 block in the Terrain, enter "-4". Click ok. Use as factory as usual. No SI issue! hth and have fun EDIT: Only works for local (aka own) blueprints. Only works via regular factory use (at least last time i tried somewhen around 7.5) or yaml file spawns.
Never knew that was even there! But I couldn't get it to do much...? Double-clicking on a Subscribed BP from the Workshop didn't pop up the options window; only worked on my own BPs. I don't have any large base BPs but tried various combos, no apparent changes. Changing the Name was applied, but not the flatten ground. Though that could simply be the base was too small to trigger that bit. This was in a Exp8 Survival SP game, not Creative. **That pop-up seems designed to specifically address placing large bases, so it looks like the way to go, if you know how to use it, heh
Work has continued on the Dwarven base build. Today I completed the "Boiler Room" for power - Very much going for the dwemer feel with this particular room: Also work has started on primary Balrog housing:
Must be a local (read: your own) blueprint. If Nothing else works, head for space, spawn the Workshop bp, save as your own, do the trick there. And the flatten ground only works via factory or yaml. (sbp doesnt work there) hth
I'm trying to work out a lvl 10 carrier, but I'm just not sure about this. Perhaps it looks too much like a corvette? And it shouldn't have a hangar perhaps, so I can fit in more constructors, cargo and such. Spoiler: More pictures
