I found a crashed CV today, but the excitement of the find faded to disappointment when I realized it was classified as a BA, not a CV. I really wanted to repair it and fly off this rock. That's one thing I think the game needs, repairable ships. Oh well, at least it's good for parts.
I think you can convert your "brick" into a proper CV following this method I found in a thread, thanks to @Myrmidon : ------------------------------------- So it works like this. 1. Start a new creative game. Under the option for Empty World select Yes. Remember the name of your savegame. 2. Spawn the blueprint you want to convert. 3. Place a starter block of the type you want to convert it to. Make sure to give yourself enough space so they don't overlap after the conversion. 4. Exit all the way out of the game. 5. Navigate to the savegame folder and find the Shared Folder. The path should look something like this: \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Games\YourSavedGame\Shared 6. There will be a couple folders and some text files. Ignore the text files. Copy all the files from the folder of the blueprint you want to convert to the other folder. So in my case I copied the contents of the SV_Player_3 folder into the CV_Player_4 folder. When it asks if you want to replace files select yes, replace files. And this is why I said to select Empty World. It makes finding the folders you want very easy. But if you end up having to dig through a bunch of folders the numbers appended to the folders correspond to the object's ID. Type DI and look at the object in game to find it for the stuff you're working on. 7. Restart the game and load the save. What used to be a starter block is now a new ship/base/whatever. In my case the CV starter block was turned into a CV version of my pirate ship SV. 8. It does not convert restricted blocks and devices so things like doors, devices, thrusters, etc that are SV/CV/HV only have to be removed and replaced with the correct items. ------------------------------------------- Hope it works !
Orbital graveyards.. there are usually a few that can be. Planetary crashed ships have to be BAs for SI... but that isn't an issue in space
This NEEDS a hangar entry like my ERA-C Arrier !! The front would so much look like a Manta. Spoiler Anyway, after 10 days working on the Scenario, i've finaly played a bit the last 2 days - the Scenario - on a server, so happy What i'm excited the most about THIS playthrough, is the fact that it is the 2nd - and i have a full fleet already 'at hand' (beeing the last Survivor of ERA - who has returned), I finaly can Play - through - without the need to actually build ships, hovers or bases. Oh I WILL build more ships, but we shall see wether it'll be ERA, or go back to the roots and Restart on the Server and start SEA and then buld there some more.. who knows (yet) Anyways, wanted to share some nice Images with you from These 2 days! Spoiler Vertigo Prime @ Night Nightsky with Spores during a hot night. More Spores and civhub in a distance. My only death so far…. Reset every 48 hrs - left it 28hrs later Cruising and exploring planet Looking for resources 1 Looking for resources 2 Look at that, passanger cabin has Bottom view! Chilling at the Alien beach
Had to change the paintjob. A bit better. Also assaulted the Weapon Bunker POI with it. Only a couple turrets on that POI so went pretty well. Enemy turrets chose to target the HV Harvesters; took out three of them, but otherwise very little damage. Should note I slapped on two Rocket Turrets before assault. They weren't on critter control so did most of the damage to enemy turrets. -- Not sure where I want to put them. Would like another couple out on the wings as well... Did away with the rear door. Had to add four more RCSs, still a bit slow both turning and accel (13 m/s F/B, 8 m/s L/R), but actually rides quite well. If I really wanted to clear out a lot of trees I'd add a third harvester on top of the two-stack. Mainly for the short bushy trees that you can ghost through. A bit too easy to not finish cutting them down. All in all though it turned out better than it was looking like, heh. Last pic shows the battle damage.
Had to pause while mining rare materials to watch the moonrise. This game really does have some awesome graphics for an Alpha.
You know, just as an thought, if they ever get the docking thing figured out they could Dock 'crashed' ships to a block in the ground that would keep it all kosher... Meh drive by squirrel.
That, or they could just fix SI... It's too small for that, but I have others with similar setups to yours. Manta, kinda... but I think it looks more like a chibi salamander or something
Well Yeah... but Ships don't Have SI yet... so kinda apples and oranges. I, However, Agree wholly with you they do need to fix SI. Also, I went golem hunting....in someones drone base... on the moon... I am a firm believer in 'If you are fighting 'fair' you aren't fighting hard enough' school of thought. I tend to clear rooms with rocket launchers and assault rifles. The golems are shy and come by every 20 mins or so... and just about every time drop one weapon kit or possibly two, high level mats and power.
Read the origin of AEGIS. part 1: https://empyriononline.com/threads/aegis-origin.36885/ part 2: https://empyriononline.com/threads/aegis-origins-part-2.38060/ part 3: https://empyriononline.com/threads/aegis-origins-part-3.38156/
SI might best be turned off until Eleon can revisit it as a part of a unified SI/Damage mechanic. At present it seems to mostly contribute frustration and uncertainty.
Got a pretty nasty ambush by 2 rocket Zirax patrols... The Buggy survived with the loss of 3 steel blocks, 1 RCS, 1 thruster and 1 fridge...
Congratulations on your milestone!! I'm nearing 1500 hours (will hit it next week at the latest), and it's also the most fun game I've ever played. I like the celebration message on your base!
I wonder if they docked the ship to a single destroyable block if the CV would get control back after the base is destroyed. ( You can dock cv's you just cant un dock them ) though an I suppose the ground would shoot the ship out like a Canon ball lol.
This being the SI component that I meant- but of course if SI in general had to be fixed to achieve that, I certainly wouldn't be offended
