im more in the military scifi corner, so my favorites are not in your poll ;-)

    1. Honoverse by David Webber - for me, the most interessting concept of Space War Operea
    2. The Lost Fleet Universe by John G. Hemry
    3. Perry Rhodan especially the early books
    4. Star Ship Troopers (the books, not the movies ;-)

SW, ST, Expanse and BSG are intersting too, but im not that much invested in this series (no books) so i only knew the TV/Movie Stuff

Star Trek (TNG and DS9 are definitely my favorites), Star Wars (pretty much all of it, though I'm still mourning the loss of the Extended Universe, in particular the New Jedi Order series), and NBSG (never watched any of the original). I'd also want to put Firefly, as well as The Expanse (as a physicist, I'm ever so pleased by how well they do the physics; plus, all the ships use D-He3 fusion rockets surprisingly similar to the type my research group is working on :) ).

I think with the new Predator movie inbound we might see a revival of the Predator series to the point where, we might even see some sort of series on TV start up, because that is one untapped potential blockbuster right there, that would be far more violent and entertaining than Stargate or Star Wars ever was !

It could be like Uber Star Wars from the future !

Predator movie is out in next month or so, Im hoping it leads to bigger and better thangs !

    Are you serious?

I think the last thing that would make people watch because of novelty is another (Sci Fi) francise with even more violence. Of course i can only speak for myself (which is of course self evident) but so many Series are so depressingly "realistic" and violent, i don't watch anything these days. There's no genuine fun or heart in anything anymore, everything is "meta", sarcastic, vulgar or completely stupid.
If you not already suffer from depression you will surely get it sooner or later from watching modern TV/Internet series, lol.

Close call... but the movie was far from what Fans of that francise have expected.
I consider myself a fan of it myself and a didn't even bother to watch that pile of crap.

I do also injoy just about any star trek I can get my hands on and star wars. as for Novels Can any one say Honor Harrington? that sireses of novels has inspired me to try and build my capitol ships well my cursers or maybe battle coursers and larger with the most vital systems in a core hull made of combat steal then build the ship around it.

Dune and the game Dune II (one of the first good RTS?) could be on the list too.

The Orville does not deserve to be on such a list (yet), it is a fairly new comedy drama based mainly on Star Trek, sadly pretty mediocre the few episodes I have seen.

The number of possible entries on a poll is limited, which i didn't know at the time i made this thread.

I haven't seen it (yet*), at the time i made the poll it was quite popular and i guess with the new season it will become even more so.
*this may change very soon. :)

Changed my vote and gave "The Orville" a checkmark.
    It's great!
(at least compared to Sci Fi nowadays.)
