Hello, I am posting here because I was banned from the steam community because I made an artwork with a vessel of the workshop that I modified and repainted, the owner of the original ship claims the ship that I modify as that his work, ( i don't release a new bp , i just take a artwork from that new apparence , and uploaded this on steam ) Why people release a blueprint to then claim a copyright when we change as we do not like the color or the different location of doors or other blocks, this makes no sense....
Always ask permission first > Always < Peoples false ego's are touchy feely bout this. Sounds like a rediculous reaction for an non blueprint artwork. Was it compilation picture then or what are we talking about ?
I would ask first and also give a link to the original with the original authors name if given permission. If I didn't get an answer, still link to the original and mention the authors name but state that I never got a response from them. If you contact the author through Steam, there is a record of your request that you can use in your defence if the author objects and contacts Steam without contacting you to ask you to remove it first.
Getting banned for that seems excessive. Must have been from one of those primadonna ship builders who think everything they do is gods gift to humankind. No, not me =p
This BS gets ridiculous already... And people wonder why I don't go anywhere near this zoo... Such clowns make me care even less about any copyright...
Copyright is designed to protect original artworks, however it's more often abused to remove similar or derivative works which are not negatively impacting the original. And I've noticed Pyston's unlisted all his ships again. FFS mate stop being such a snowflake.
