    Hi everyone :)

I have 4 friends that I play games with (eg Minecraft, Vermitide, D3) and I have bought us all copies of Empyrion GS. The goal is to learn and explore the game together for the first time while hanging out over a weekend.

Can I get advice as to starting and learning the game in multiplayer mode? Is there a particular senario you'd recommend? Or is the game such that every member should do their starting world separately, play through the tutorial, then jump on a multiplayer together? Can we simply start the intro/mission senario in co-op mode?

    Thanks in advance,
    Michael

I see no reason why you all could not start out on the same world on a MP server. You would possibly be together at start, or perhaps a part of your adventure could be finding each other. The real trick would be finding a good server to start on. Currently I'm on The Outer Rim, but there are a lot of great servers to be found.

If you wish to do the tutorial first, then do a brief single player start just to learn. I am more of the 'jump in and go' school.

    Hi Ballard,

    Thanks for your quick reply!

I was actually hoping to keep it just the 4 of us; I had locally hosted co-op multiplayer in mind. Would I need to host my own server todo this, or could I simply select the co-op option when starting a senario?

    Many thanks,
    Michael

Coop host is started just as if you were playing a single player game. Except, instead of clicking Start you click the dropdown and click Coop Server. This starts a game server alongside the client.

Once in-game someone needs to create a faction (default F4). Faction members share location information, scouting, etc. You can set the ownership of bases and vehicles to that of the faction. Let's all faction members have access.

I would suggest playing Default Random the first time through. The scenarios while fun add extra bugs.

    Awesome!

    Thanks everyone.

So just to be clear I can just select "Co-op" mode and follow Minbann's instructions to get us going?

Will each of the players be able to follow the robinson protocol? Will it mark objectives off as a faction/team or as individuals?

    Many thanks!

    Thanks Taelyn.

    Individual sounds perfect.

I'll have to investigate faction missions at some point :)

For now it sounds like Default Random co-op will be perfect for the first weekend :)

    Thanks everyone!
