    Hi guys,
I want to add a Resource in my scenario and then create some "new items" build with that resource.

I don't need totally new items, so if possibile i plan to make some Improved version of a Rifle or Turret but buildable only with that new resource

    It's all blocked? :(

Or, maybe, change the actual recipe and use the resources now in game for made new items.

i want to make a sort of "rare resource" for end game crafting and planet control

It's probably not going to be possible to make custom resources for quite a while (if ever). What you could do is make an existing resource into a rare resource by removing all deposits of it (good candidates would be gold or neodymium) and modifying recipes accordingly. Unfortunately, I don't belive loot tables can be controlled at this point, so cargo boxes in any POI have a chance to drop the resource (which could be what you want anyway).

damn..so i think i move to set 1 resurce to spawn only in some planets and i insert that Ore/Ingot in some end game recipe . I will modify some value of those items to make them "end-game" .

It's possible to modify recipe adding child items right?

Yes, just make sure that you set existing ingredients to zero that you don't want in the recipe (if you simply omit them, they'll still show up in-game in the recipe).

Perfect. is much easy create new items, but we can't at this point. I've tried to add some item to the tech tree, copy/paste existing item but didn't work :(

I wish Eleon would introduce an API to allow modders to customise stuff like that. Adding new resources, new recipes and even new items that can be built from those recipes.

More content could be added to the game in the form of mods than Eleon could ever conceive of. If Eleon thinks it's a good addition to the game, they could just as easily add it themselves and give credit to the mod developer just as Wildcard does with Ark mods.

    I'm working on a scenario Dune's like.
at the moment i managed to create 3 starting planet, with 3 origins each, in a Galaxy with 100 planets.
The Galaxy is divide in 2 part, connected by a line of routes only for CV.
    The "spice" is gold.
I'm adding gold at some recipes like Crystal warp, warp drive, and other.
Full PvP vs origins and friendly fire active.

Now i'm tring to balance every planet and item..but it's so fkn long XD
    But i'm having fun

That sounds amazing! Good luck with your scenario and stick with it. It can be a pain and even frustrating but once you get it all to work right it's a great feeling. :D

Ark uses the Unreal Engine, EGS uses Unity. My understanding is that it's much easier to add mod support to an UE game than it is to a Unity one. I began making mods in Morrowind and I've made them for a few other games so I'm completely in favor of mod support for EGS. I'm not holding my breath while I wait for it though. :)

This is the workshop page if someone want to follow. It's unbalanced atm, so don't play it. I host a 10 man server for test,so i reboot and wipe a lot Search Dune Galaxy Dev

Rust uses Unity and has a lot of mod support. Players even created driveable cars long before it was actually added to the game by the devs.

I didn't want to get too technical. Unity will support mods but, it's worlds easier to implement if the game is designed with mods in mind from the start. I don't know if that's the case with EGS. Scenarios, planet generation and system generation have been exposed to player interaction but that can be done without the need to add the hooks that would allow players to create and import assets.

You will get the ability to do this when the API is finished.

And many other things too !
