Decided to try to make something more open instead of closed. I have a habit of making thing closed off and dark so i tried to do something opposite. Needless to say this is not a ship to take if your going to get shot at a lot, though there are some defenses lol. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1413001634
The WarEagle Mark Eight Just under 30KT, class 5, full thrusters, full turrets and a sleek looking (mainly survival) base.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1419519074 Hello everyone! Allow me to introduce my new Light Corvette - EAS "Marco Polo" This light and cheap ship is designed to conduct reconnaissance and provide the player with a mobile base that includes everything necessary. Armament is not worth mentioning, but it (as it seems to me ) will help shoot a couple of drones, if everything becomes absolutely bad. The ship has all the necessary facilities for long-term survival (but no hydroponics, sorry ) I hope you enjoy (EAS means - Earth Alliance Ship)
Hey CV builders- built a CV with assault in mind- class 8 check it out https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1421220560 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1421218158
Hello friends! My new ship is online Steam: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1423656808
Haast-Kittyhawk. I needed a light weight, low cost warp capable CV, and the MegaSwallow was a bit much to handle. So I made this. Size class 1, no Z / E, minimal Sath / neo. She's pretty, economical, small and nippy, yet basically fully furnished!
Hoping this is the right thread for this! I have an unfinished ship (interior about 40-50% done) and exterior only lacks paintjob. She is a Dreadnought that's why the bulky-ish shape.- its original idea. A home away Home. I did her some years back but then RL duties came etc and so i never finished her. As a Dreadnought she is made out of combat armor and packed with lots of guns. I have not yet posted her to workshop as I have no idea if there are people who are willing to finish her or in general are into this stuff.(unfinished ships) If there are some guys who like this kind of stuff I could upload her to workshop. With finishing her I mean- finish the exterior- implement some logics (example auto lights) and maybe modernize her with some newer blocks (sleek windows etc, maybe diffrent paintjob) The main idea is that once she is finished she can be uploaded to workshop as a finished ship! Here is what is already included onbaord: Main hangar- under hangar for HVs, 2 small hangers for strike craft- all interlinked. Captain Quarters, Officer Quarters. Engine room 3 floors. Construction/ Workshop area, Farm area. 2 Recreation areas - Upper and lower Bridges, messhall, observatory, Reactor room 2 floors, Life support. And lots of undeveloped areas. There also should be hospital wing with munition ward. Some photos: Reactor room: Topside: Belly: Engine room: Lower bridge: Statistics: As you can see she is a big girl that needs a bit of loving to make her shine and beautiful. So yea Let me know if somebody is interested and I'll upload her.
I have released an almost complete version of the Sound Of Silence here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1425334713
Very nice CV. Seems like jrandal's creation from whom I guess you have been influenced. It is amazing how we inspire each other to create even better ships and bases. Truly amazing. Congratulations, it is definitely going to be a hit on WS.
Yes, jrandall and his Perses is definitely the main inspiration. Although the overall design is my own the similarities in the texture work are undeniably there (and intentional as I think his texture work is absolutely spot on). The WS in general is an amazing source of inspirations and influences though, not only the "famous" ones. There are so many niche designs that are absolutely brilliant.
I threw together a quickie utility CV for singleplayer. Have been working away on Dawn of Galaxy and finally getting to the point of being able to build a CV. Basically I wanted something that can carry my shuttle SV_Apollo_Mk2 and my HV miner, HV_SexySister. Managed to throw this together in a couple hours, and it is a nice departure from my standard Vogon garbage scow block . . . However, I wonder if anyone would care to have a look at it and offer any suggestions on making it look more stylish? CV_Beelzebufo Spoiler: 1 Spoiler: 2 Spoiler: 3 Function is more important to me than form, but striking a good balance between the two is the best. Primarily I just want something that is not too expensive to build in materials, and can be used to prospect for more resources on distant worlds, thus the ability to carry my mining HV and a multi-purpose SV which I built quite some time ago. ADDIT: a side thought . . . in previous versions of the game, the landscapes were much more irregular, at least in comparison to the current versionf of Maiy, and a few 'random' seed temperates. I used to think of them as being a "bit too Dr. Seuss like." I would often find that a "typical" CV Design (a one or two level ship built roughly with a cross-section like a Battlestar Galactica and thus a narrow, long thin flat bottom) was very awkward for making a quick landing to extract resources on some distant dangerous planet. So based on this constraint, I did a series of designs which look more like skyscrapers or flying upgright salt-shakers so that I could fit in all the stuff you want in your multi-purpose CV (hangar decks for HV and SV, constructors, farms, lots of storage . . .). You can see a couple of those in the back ground of the pictures above: CV_Kubik_Daughter and CV_Nostromo. Nostromo was more or less the piece de resistance of that line and apart from being very angular, I think it actually came out looking pretty good given how incredibly functional it is (was, with some of the changes to the maths on thrust, I will undoubtedly have to do a rework on the thruster arrangements . . . It was also designed before warp engines produced heat, so that is something else I'll have to remedy). If anyone wants to play with it, feel free to give it a whirl (I think it is published and public, but if it isn't and you want it let me know). Spoiler: CV_Nostromo view from lift from SV Hangar into bridge Spoiler: CV_Nostromo, port showing SV Hangar Spoiler: A peek inside the SV Hangar Spoiler: front Spoiler: Inside Bridge Spoiler: CV Nostromo rear, showing HV Hangar door Spoiler: Inside hangar with HV_SexySister inside
What you have is horrendous. Square, blocky, etc. Now, what you can do to make this look good and yet maintain the relative form factor would be to roll something like the Tempest. It's got angled blocks, a sweep to it, an ovaloid cross section, and looks like something designed. Or, you could go with something like the Mega-Swallow, where the squareness looks designed in, yet some angled blocks and texturing give it a smarter appearance.
Here's an industrial ship I finished recently. Started out as a cargo ship idea and then became a full-fledged factory barge. 14 advanced constructors and a ton of cargo space. Enjoy! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1428404107
Got a new one for ya . . . CV_Vogon_Rhapsody Spoiler: front Spoiler: side Spoiler: back Awww yeeaa thas what I'm talkin' bout! I usually build very "boat-like" ships, and decided I'd like to try something more exposed and industrial looking, partly because I've been watching Babylon 5 and there are a lot of cool utilitarian designs there. The forward-facing CV laser drills in A8 gave me a good theme to work around, so I built a utilitarian mining ship, which I'm calling the East Fork. (Named after a road I've often driven which passes some old mining areas.) It's about as small and simple as a fully-featured CV can be. It's got all the usual switches and sensors, including my first attempt at using two switches to operate the same thing. (The rear door and ramp.) It's also "greebled" to hell and back, with lots of gratuitous pipes and hull details and a ton of accent lighting. A nice benefit of the exposed structure is that you can easily add upgrades and modifications without ruining the look or function of the ship. Here's an example of how an SV pad can easily be added. And another with extra turret hardpoints and a larger thruster. Finally, here's the workshop link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1442407512
Say hello to my Lil Mule. A small footprint, low cost, full featured CV great for exploration or making space brew runs. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1455894951
