@T431 great idea with the VR simulation and it solves just the issue I was thinking about… Had a long ship and no idea how or where to place alternative cockpit seats. Spoiler: Now, it looks like: Ops, there's a wrong colored model of seating... It's a plastic world….
Well, it's been a while... Although I haven't been active on this forum, I have been dipping in and out of Empyrion and today I managed to finish my new CV, featuring rooms and features from other projects that I cut and pasted into one. Therefore I present the aptly named ILS Chimaera. That isn't a ship in a shipyard, that is a ship with protected (though still visible) thrusters in eight outer rings. Now, while I would love to publish it to the Steam workshop, for some reason it is not letting me. The class size (9) is in red, but I'm not sure why. The ship was crewed with human and alien crew, but I've just systematically removed all those blocks and replaced them with empty workstations etc. How can I tell why it is not letting me publish? I can't think of any other blocks in it that aren't allowed on blueprint. It has been a while since I published anything, so I wouldn't be surprised if I'm missing something really obvious. Any ideas out there?
Type: prefabinfo <name_of_blueprint> in the console (do not enter the < characters) Maybe you need some quotes if your blueprint name contains spaces. I am not in the game right now. It should tell you whats wrong. I suspect there were plants in the grow plots. That was the reason my ships were rejected.
I did it more as a damage test rather than actually trying to defeat it, since SV's just don't have enough firepower for the job. But yeah, maybe we should have a thread for this. *Hyuck hyuck hyuck, you gotta sound like that one team rocket grunt after all.
Plants in the grow plots, check Personal Cargo Box, discovered thanks to that command. Thanks very much
Presenting the latest ship of the Imperial Legion. The ILS Chimaera. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1524938421 Utilising new ring propulsion technology the Chimaera will strike fear into the hearts of the enemies of the Empire, as the fastest and most manoeuvrable Capital Vessel in the fleet. The Chimaera has a comprehensive Engineering section, crewed by the best officers from across the galaxy, with the ability to warp as far as any vessel in the Empire. On board is also accommodation for a full squad of Imperial Marines and a hangar ready to launch quick justice to any law breaking enclave of petty rebellion. On board is a heavily armoured Tactical Command Centre, capable of operating as a backup bridge with access to all systems in the unlikely event of a successful hostile landing party. To keep the Chimaera and its crew sustained and able to complete missions of any length, it is equipped with a grow room and state of the art construction facilities overseen by Imperial Engineers (the best in the galaxy). Of course, with the Empire in a period of unprecedented peace and prosperity, the crew have a lot of leisure time and facilities are in place for their comfort, including a beautiful observation lounge and garden. Rest easy in your beds citizens. The Empire is protecting you https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1524938421
Friend of mine asked for some help building a ship so I'm like "sure! I'll take a look at it". Hop onto the server and it's a brick. He explained to me what he wanted. I have now turned The Brick™ into Not A Brick™.
Please consider this an all encompassing invitation/request to turn any of my bricks into not bricks fankooverymuch
What no pictures ? boooooo ! lol Seriously though, has anyone made simple videos to teach people how to not build bricks yet ? Seriously considering it myself.
I really need to figure out how to get rid of the first screenshot that gets posted with the blueprint to Steam. Anyone have some instructions?
Yes, but I think those who have, do not make things of worth either I wish I could just be "That Guy" who can just be open and honest with people's postings and tell them just how bad it is. Things like "stop making an entire room one color with two pieces of furniture in the middle" or "no, lights at 4.0 and 20m are NOT the right thing to do ten times in a single room" or "do you really think anyone would use a constructor that is attached to a ceiling?" ... But sadly, I want to be a nice guy... and so it goes.
You can be that guy, just tell em in a somewhat nice manner, and don't join the downvoters. And most importantly, don't just point out issues, give solutions too.
No, I mean to get rid of the picture it saves directly from Empyrion when you Alt Gr - O. It always saves a picture with a watermark of the save template screen. How do I get one of my good pictures to be the main picture?
Before doing "Update" or "Publish" go into the blueprint folder of the build, and swap out the .jpg with an exact named alternative. There is a further guide around here somewhere.... uhhhh, now where did I put that link! FRAK. EDIT: This may help (near the bottom): https://empyrion.gamepedia.com/Blueprints_and_Steam_Workshop
I'm rubbish at building and my little HV is like a brick but when it comes to taking out the turrets on bases it is great. I do get help from my son and he is a little better at building than I am but I won't part with wee bug (brick).
