I was testing my Creative Studio a little.
To be more precise, I wanted to build a cheap, warp-capable SV for 5G, with reinforced hull.

    Well, been there, done that.

In case you should actualy meet a 5G planet, remove the detector to get 49m/s2 thrust.
    5.10g is too much :p

Yup! A scenario I've been doing off and on since alpha 8 experimental. Going to wait until alpha 9 to finish the playfields but in the mean time I'm making POIs.

While I was browsing the workshop today I found a interesting build, check out Otachi's workshop when you get a chance.
Yes, I am plugging a complete stranger because I like some of his builds.

Not letting terrain glitches beat me. got resources built 2 HVs and small base now ready to try another coop with @jlego. Also got to the 4000 hours in game. don't know if that is a sign that I am addicted or got too much time on my hands lol.

I don't know what's the problem should be with Solar panels but, after placing my Base, I only had 15 large Solar panels and after two planetary days my Capacitor shows:

That's always going to be a problem, curves won't work simply because of the game engine, basically it works in squares, not curves & that's why a tracked version won't work at this stage. You need wheels to rest it upon, to give it a smooth ride over the surface. Or course it would also help if the dev's added some dedicated blocks to help the situation. ;)

Working on this alien cruiser some more. I did manage to turn the facing around....and put a face on the ship. I swear I'm not doing that on purpose! Mostly. :p

This was a first for me. I don't always know where the core is, so usually after all that tedious tunneling to the basement I end up still fighting my way around the basement of the POI just to find the core. However, I popped the drone up to take a peak and realized that the core is probably just one room over, that I had punched my first hole into the hallway next to the core. So I punched a second hole and actually got the core practically by dumb luck. I thought I was going to have to deploy my drone again to find exactly where in the room it was compared to my hole.

    A8.6.1_373071_2018-10-21_21-52-05.png

Personally, I wish that sometimes the core was NOT in the basement all the time. Too predictable. And while I understand the practical sense of doing this for most assaults on a POI. My goal with tunneling isn't to avoid all the efforts of exploring inside a POI. My goal is to avoid a pounding by the surface turrets and to take the road less traveled, making my own back door. Once I have a tunnel to the basement, I just punch a hole from which I will initiate my assault. When all you can see is dirt and a map marker for where the POI is, I am just glad to have found the basement and not punched my way to the surface. My mining HV was built light to optimize its working in the tunnels. It would get tore up if the turrets had a clean shot at it. To actually shutdown the POI using my HV itself before the monsters starting filling up the POI, that was an unexpected bonus. As I said, makes me wish the core wasn't so predictably in the basement. Not just because of my technique, but because the one time (not this time of course) that I had serious trouble finding the core, all I had to do was keeping checking the basement until I found the hidden core. I could ignore all other levels in my search.

A very simple solution is to create multiple versions of the same POI with slightly different layouts, location of core, loot, etc. It's pretty easy to make another variation of a POI. I hope the devs eventually add that in or even better a way to randomize the position of the actual core (place "ghost core blocks" and the game randomly chooses one of the ghost blocks to become the actual core when the POI is spawned).

    That is absolutely hilarious!

Got the explosive blocks all wired up and tested. They destroy about 90% of the vault cargo boxes and 100% of the alien containers.

    That looks nice, doesn't it?
    But there's always a catch...

You have come up with something that's much more than the sum of its parts. This one makes me want to roleplay. I do look a lot like George Clooney too - we're both bipeds. :D
