I did get past the Varon root part and returned. When the 'attack' started.. it was great!!! I got killed by a regular NPC I think that got hit with my rocket launcher.. One issue here tho.. I got the first wave of soldiers down and had my SV parked outside. When the 2nd wave started... the drones destroyed my SV! ... this was great!. not that great for the loss of the sv but that was just fantastic. that I had to whip out my rocket launcher and shoot them down myself. Here's where the issue came in... I destroyed 3 drones.. No more attacked me but ... the quest did not update. I WILL mention.. I am having lag on this lava world on my system so that might have played a part in this. There is a delay when I shoot down a drone to 0 hit points to when it goes 'white' and falls.. and that delay can be about 10 seconds to almost a minute floating in the air with no HP. Quest just wont update.. I went for my cv and got the tank out to search more but no more drones showed up.
The aspect of the drones taking a second to fall out of the air is not lag on your part but a un-resolved mechanic that is still getting ironed out. A way to tell if you have killed a drone despite it seemingly floating in the air is to check the XP counter near your stats bars on the bottom left hand side of the screen. Glad you liked the fight though, I was worried it would be too intense, but it looks like the power of CV's and SV's are winning the day. As far as the quest not updating, likely a bug - give it a try on this new play through. If it does not work then it is a glitch that needs ironing out. Hummel will likely get to that when he gets back from vacation in a week or so.
Mission is stuck on wave 2 of Clear troops. I've searched all over and can't find any more zirax soldiers. Any help?
Yes. or as far as I can tell. I've flown around in a mile or so wide circle. Can't see anything. No drones appear. The gun turrets took a couple out and I shot down 3 or 4.
Hm..the gun turrets of the base? Strange, that should not happen at all (as these are not counted to your "list" and might result in the issue described)
I'm assuming it was the turrets. I was in the air when the drones appeared. I saw one or two get shot down from the direction of the brewery. I did have my CV parked on the bank of the lava lake. I suppose the shots could have come from that. The mission is definitely stuck. I've tried everything I can think of to get it to continue.
Suggestion @Hummel-o-War , since the msg you get at the shuttle said... "Seems like someone survived the crash, for a time at least." ... how about adding a segment to the mission where you go 'look' for that someone.. maybe have a body < stationary container that won't despawn> on a nearby bank you can get the root from. just have a wp added and the IDA 'detect' an organic signature nearby.
Ok, 2nd playthrough, the mission hung on me at the waves part. The first wave was no problem, It was the 2nd and 3rd waves that hung. 4 drones showed up and were fought and here is where the hang started. I manually completed the 2nd wave after 20 minutes of waiting for something. 3rd wave initiated but no 'teleportation' occured within a 30 minute period. I will note.. the first wave went very well. The aliens spawned in after each corpse despawned and I did not have the hanging drone issue this time.
Please activate the console > "im" and then > H > spawn a few troops and kill those to proceed (or check the PDA and manually complete the task..which might be easier/faster
Ok. I finally gave up and flew back to Kaxid. I'll go back this weekend and try that. Thanks for the help.
I'm a bit turned around. Where is this mission? For me it appeared to start on the Cabrea moon, which makes sense since it fits the "Lava Planet" description in the storyline, however I've searched every part of it and cannot find the base or brewery. Is it somewhere else?
Mine was on a planet called"Ner". Lava Planet. My starting planet is called Kaxid. The moon is where the mission starts, but you need to warp around the galaxy and locate a lava planet. You should get a heading on your radar for the brewery when your on the lava planet.
Version 8.7 1905 (started game at 8.7 before unity rollback) 1. Found the shuttle 2. Sent Drone into the lava/shuttle 3. Located containers 4. Gatling gunned roof to containers 5. Accessed all 4 containers ... No roots, just tiny amounts of random resources ... 6. Destroyed core 7. Placed my own 8. Moved cabin 9. Piloted shuttle to the shore 10. Checked every fridge and container ... Still no roots. P.S. Stage of quest to find brewery triggers when you land on lava moon, which contains no brewery.
