I've no shortage of ideas. Inspiration isn't a problem so much as trying to translate it into the game. Designing really small CVs is hard and I don't have a lot of practice at it yet. Still going through a lot of trial and error. I was trying to keep the weight and material cost down on the UFO while making it look cool. It was supposed to be an entry level CV but by the time I was finished it was starting to get a little expensive and it looked cheesy. I've got a couple other designs I'm working on as a followup to the UFO. Neither one has hangar space or room to add it. They're so thin it was difficult finding a spot to put constructors or grow plots. One of them kind of has a Star Wars vibe to the design but material cost ended up getting out of hand and it's not terribly practical as a player ship. Looks cool though. I think part of my problem is I design from the outside in and I need to scale my creations up a bit more. But then they get expensive and they're not entry level anymore.
I don't have a Workshop link as I like to put my stuff in here for the Creative Minds here to use/utilize it.
Here is a Lvl 10 and a Lvl 15 Version of the (BA) Corporation Headquarter..Lvl 10 DOES NOT look like the Picture shows
What does this have to do with the workshop? My workshop linked creations posted here do not apply for the "Creative Minds"?
That was not what I meant. I stay out of the Work Shop. That's it. All who are in here can have my BPs... no one else.
isn't that a bit discriminating? Just curious. Did your experiences have been that bad, or is there another reason? I mean i know a good bunch of nice people playing agames and using steam, but rearely are registered on the external (from steam) forum, even isf it is official. I don't judge your decisison, just being curious.
Maybe he is very sensitive to downvotes or does not his works to be admired by many people on steam, by not publishing on workshop.
Well it is a nice work and could be useful and admired by players that use steam but not watch this thread.
My decision goes back to the discussions here about the down-voting Freaks on the Work Shop. I vote up what I like but I don't down vote ANYONE for what reason ever. Therefore I keep my stuff in here.
I can respect that decision. I actually are a lot less critical about downvotes. They happen and even if some people downvote because of somekind of jealousy... think about it in this way: jealousy is the highest form of apreciation ;-) The more eager they are in downvotes the more serious they take your creation as a competition. :-D But if that is your way, it is totally up to you. At least here they can't downvote it, though i am sure that many of the downvoters came from this forum here.... even with multiple accounts, created for this manipulative purpose. To me.... ok, what ever floats your boat. I actually have quiet a lot of vessels in the works. Just currently have neither the time nor do i feel like to invest a lot of time into building as things will change a lot. And since i have not much time to even test things i keep things to share and discuss theories. The whole Workshop thing is really critical anyways. Not only for Empyrion but most early access titels (or titles that are heavily worked on). Simply because there are a lot abbandoned blueprints/workshop items and also the often asked for "mods". In terms of quality, Steam should have a filter option to check in order to only get shown the items compatible with the latest patch/update. That would probably shrink the huge flood of blueprints/items to the ones that will most likely not be outdated and... you know, actually work. There is a long way to go with this game and the games workshop ;-)
Before I put that matter to rest let me say this: Earlier I shared my BPs on the WS and didnt give a Damn for up and down. I did not even look if anyone was following or subscribed it. I shared with the "discriminated" Players out there as well as with Friends on a MP Server. I got more harsh words for wrongs I seemed to have done on my builds from so-called Friends than comments from subscribers. After a while I stopped MP, and played only SP Survival. There I started to create my Bases. I still shared the Bases on WS. After reading the complaints of the Members in here I decided to show my solidarity with them by not publishing on WS but only with Friends which some are. Now after posting several hundred messages in here and on this part of the Forum I post only in here. Maybe, one day the WS will have it again but not now.
Ah, OK. How about an targoid design as round 50th UFO designs are really hard to achieve with the block shapes we have. Especially if you try to build small. I mean the 8 sided alienships from old elite from the 80th, as the base shape and it is easily scalable... I don't know how often I used the multi tool on the Jinx because something won't work as I wanted it. And then another part had to get changed too, as an follow-up. Yeah, the joys of free creation.
So what did I do today? Well I took a mild break from Red Dead Redemption 2. Then I fixed some issues on my upcoming refresh of the Cerberus-X! I have spent entirely to much time working off and on this ship. I have been through so many changes and re-do's and game updates that keep me slowly adding and deleting stuff. I just really want to be happy with its outcome. I feel that that time is soon, but really only time will tell. Ok Screen time! Cerberus-X and the Cerberus-SE for size comparisions. (Cerberus-X is the bigger one fyi!) Also I just want to thank a few kind gentleman for taking the time to look at a prerelease version of Cerberus-X. They took time out of their busy lives and world dominations to help out a kind soul. Thanks @Kieve @jrandall @XCaliber !
-SPARTHE- is very interesting. I like the style , but not the name. I already have a lisp from my denture. I don't need spathe to make it worse. Personally, I found the Prefab tier 1 & 2 CVs to be very adaptable for my needs
Today I discovered 2 things about gravity generators. 1. Two generators in close proximity cause conflicting gravity fields and total disorientation. 2. One generator appears to be limited to a gravitational field of approximately 74 meters from it's center. (at least that's how it seems to work on the CV I just built)
Try the Arrowheads in my workshop, they were the first CV's I released but I have been updating them as the game version changes and have also been trying to keep them as "starter" CV's. Both builds are LVL 10.
Last night I spent hours expanding the building at the end of my XL landing pad. While I was at it I also carefully, (VERY carefully) removed blocks from the interior of the pad. The pad is 4 layers thick, and it used to cost 29,948 rock dust to build, I managed to get it down to 28,440 rock dust. So it's 1,508 rock dust cheaper now, with a larger building. I uploaded the changes, but I am still trying to decorate the interior. Old building. New building.
