I took a break shortly after alpha 8 launched because of a combination of my brother's video card dying and other games that I've been involved in. Lately I've been designing POIs for my custom scenario but I can't wait to actually get back to playing again in alpha 9.
I play (2400h+ on Steam record) ONLY Empyrion since I bought it a Year ago...addicted? May be. But I am a bit on the poor side as I can't spent money on buying other games that interests me.
God don't say that! Truthfully I haven't tried to pressurise the build yet and now I'm paranoid! XD Also after looking at pics of that top section I've lowered the whole thing by two blocks and its looking a lot better.
Oh man, I've made perhaps my best SV yet here. My idea was simple, a compact, extremely maneuvrable LVL 10 fighter, with an empty bay that can be outfitted with all sorts of equipment, like a warpdrive, cargo space or extra RCS. Visually inspired by the Belbullab 22 from star wars, this packs a decent punch with 10 weapon hardpoints, and it's got all the basics for survival, including 2 large cargo boxes, and excluding a constructor. These are the stats in it's stock form, I'm planning on having a Scout (stock), Explorer (warp drive, extra fridge and constructor) Cargo (with a whole lot of cargo space) and intercepter(upgraded weapons and extra RCS.) variant.
well here is a fresh coat of paint on my Scimitar ... that said i wanted something or some way to cover or conceal the forward cannons i originally put retractable doots but they got in the way i guess it couldnt fire with them there . i could prolly make some signal logic to open them or soemthing but its whatever i guess ... anyway here is the maybe final product .....
Worked more on the Gamma Station today. Still have a couple of areas to address. But this is really coming along. Seriously having so much fun building this. well here is are 2 of the main areas people will be exposed to. The main floor that gives access to all the teleporters, shops and hanger access. Here is the hanger bay. Access to parking, repair console and ZeroG Admin access. Coming soon, Gamma Lounge!
1.Edit the config.ecf : DrillT2, ROF: 0.01 2. Take 100+ packs of drill charges 3. Enjoy underground/underwater caverns.
Basically done with the Foundry (finally!). I'm pretty happy with it overall. It's my first large "real" POI. No idea how challenging it will actually be or if it's rewarding, but it does have 2 purple alien containers plus a bunch of others so hopefully it's worth taking on. I decided instead of putting the core in different locations, I would place 4 switches throughout the POI that you have to flip to initiate self destruct of the core. I felt with the size of this thing that would make it more of a non-linear challenge. I tried to keep the switches in safe rooms, to avoid accidentally blowing them up. The risk of course is a bad lag shot could take out a switch, so if it becomes an issue I'll have to rethink that approach. I made a small cargo hoverpad to spawn nearby the Foundry, guarded by a single turret robot (and the Foundry's guns): And finally I finished up a T1 auxiliary POI: the Rados Service Platform. It'll be set to spawn a few nearby the Foundry (just out of range of the guns) as well as spawn a few within several KM of the foundry, and contains a few normal and rare alien containers and a bunch of cargo boxes. Meant to be on par with difficulty of a standard rados T1 random POI, but larger in size. It has 2 possible locations for the core to keep things a bit interesting. It also has a T1 BA repair bay and repair console, giving you an incentive to take out the core and salvage the thing. (My scenario won't have erestrum and zascosium on the same planets so finding salvage that contains both is going to be more valuable). Here is the foundry, surrounded by a few of the cargo hoverpads, with a service platform in the distance in the upper right (and a few drones floating about):
At the moment its size 14 I think, That'll increase though since I haven't done all the interior work or added much in the way of lighting. I was a little suprised to be honest as its not completely over the top size wise but I think the triangle and window count have inflated the size quite a bit. (god knows how ridiculous its gonna be after I add lights!) Its not overly big internally either. Because I didn't want the rings too tall I kept the corridors inside of them one block high. They're usable and don't look cramped but between that, the elevator shafts and the other internal corridors I'm slightly limited to where I'll be able to place devices (I've got the 4 rooms on each ring the top section and some enclosed spaces I can bury generators etc in.)
After releasing a combat version of my electra 560 luxury yacht yesterday, I felt the need today to produce a pure combat vessel from the ground up. Introducing the Lackton 850 85ft combat steel 1x artillery (midships) 2x rocket (aft) 3x minigun (port starboard and aft) 3x plasma (bow) Still under construction so wont be released until later today maybe tomorrow.
