Storytime: Back in Alpha 7, my brother and I started a new game in the scenario Universal Voodoo 3. We found a moon that he really liked and we made it our home base: Fast Foward to this year, I'm making a scenario for him and I to play together again (Project Eden). I decided to re-create a new version of this moon. Started with a standard barren moon: Then I played around with adding a sky (EEK! Too white!): Tweaked the sky and textures and added some better mountains. I remember the moon had scattered Rados and Alien POIs and Sathium/Neodymium deposits, so I added some standard Rados POIs in both a compound and randomly around the moon. Took the alien POIs from the Universal Voodoo 3 files we still had and updated them to alpha 9 and added a couple of them as well. Changed the resources so there's Silicon, Cobalt, Sathium, and Promethium. Created a simple black crystal POI as additional deco. So here's the result of about 3 hours of work to add a variation of Barren moon to my scenario: More pics:
Anyone who has played Skyrim knows where this is going. Unfortunately this POI will require an admin core so the puzzles provide a challenge. This would also let me set custom loot, however, such as filling many of these boxes with gold coins. This will have a "quest" where the Talon priests at the temple of the moon and temple of the sun will ask you to travel to this abandoned tomb and retrieve a sacred statue for each of them that they'll pay good money for. We might not have proper NPC interaction, but we do have traders that can have flavor text and can be set to buy or sell items that aren't otherwise obtainable by the player. You're not the only one after these riches, however. A small Zirax pirate ship will be parked nearby and you'll have to fight past the looters to descend deeper into the ancient tomb. Likewise, if you're friendly with the Zirax, then they would also be willing to pay for the artifacts that you find instead of selling them to the Talon priests back at the temples. Once you fight your way past the pirates and solve the first puzzle, you're not out of the clear just yet. I plan on having several underground floors with various traps, puzzles, and enemies. Similar to my Casino POI, this one will provide a lot of money in the form of gold and gold coins, in addition to the price you get from selling the artifacts found at the very end.
Oh I could have used some of these worlds for some recent screenshots I've been mucking about with. Tweaking planets and lighting can be such a timesink sometimes.

I've just about finished my first "boat". I hadn't intended to craft a boat, it just sort of came out that way. It's called the Riverine Patrol. From the front, it started to resemble a PT Boat. For a time I even had running decks all around but decided they weren't really practical. The side-mounted miniguns were an after-thought. I haven't decided if I will modify the hull to properly accept them or do away with them. Most likely I will create a variant with the extra turrets. In any case, allow me to present the Riverine Patrol:
Nice little Bug-Boat. Nb., the new space needed for open Cockpits has ruined my main HV as I sit now on the floor and cant use the windows in Front properly anymore. Would need a reconstruction of the Pilots Area
3 days ago I started playing EGS again. Last project was a mobile production base (cv) for a faction. -> Hull (more precicly the skeleton), half of the Hangar interior, Production & Farm = Class 9 Figured I want it smaller, so I started with a CV with a just one double-13x7 Hangar door entry. For a change, the rear was completed first… Class 3.0x... The next day I came along the CVX Revenant MK2 by Goons, awesome design, very great looking! As a matter of fact, I think it's the very first ship I didnt build myself I'd actualy want to use. But as always, there are some small things for practical/daily use that are not to my like. So I started drawing some scetches, refined some, and with the recent builds I've done, I had 'used' wings. After refining the wing-part, I though, hey, with completed 'mirror', it might look like a proper CV... What do you think to that last thought? Please note, this is a wing-part and not 'decorated' on the hull as of now. Spoiler: Images of a 'standalone wing-part' This ship was a 'wing part' on paper, now turned into a CV for 'engine' testing. What now is a 'regular' CV interior, would be only a machine room.
Played around with making an ice planet last night. Still working on my abandoned tomb POI but once I finish that I'm going to work on this planet. Going to add a Polaris ice mining facility here and maybe some alien ships buried in the ice?
Citidel CV is around 80% complete and fully operational. I’ve also completed work on a much smaller CV, geared mainly as an asteroid miner. I’ve a few more tweaks to add, but this one should be share-worthy before the weekend. Built a nice base on a distant world as well, very keen on the design of this one.
I know. As it is, if I leave the cockpit while in 3rd person, I appear inside the turret enclosure overhead. Fortunately, when I switch back to 1st person, I'm back standing next to the seat.
Wasn't to happy with my new driller, so ereased al parts that doesn't fit for my liking and rebuilt it. HV Miner for Volume/Mass enabled games 2 CC for Ore with 14k and 1 CC for Ammo with 1.5k 2 personal Cargo box in cabin floor 2 mobile Constructors for ore proccessing while harvesting Armorlocker, medic and O2 station are also included For defence it has 2 front gattlings under the cockpit and 2 turrets on top On the underside is a retractable Drillturret for precise drilling. download: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1674114896
Impressive. It's a shame that furnishings, consoles & crew cannot be added to HVs, though perhaps that would not fit your intent for this ship. I know I would love to have a bunk in my larger HV/SV builds.
I really like this. It's much larger than I would have thought to make, but it looks GREAT! I have to have it!
Thank you, most of the volume is taken by the cargo. Personally I am quite happy with the outcome now. While drilling it is relatively stable too, so not much rotating upside down as I tend to get with smaller builds.
I noticed that. Well done. Perhaps that's why my drill rigs are so unstable. I made one modification to my copy. I replaced the solid blocks in the cockpit nose with armored windows for a better view from the seat. While I often control my ships from 3rd person. sometimes it just seems better from the seat. I'm also thinking of moving the cockpit forward one space, tho I'm not sure it will make much difference. Still, it's great design, Especially the drill module mounts. The top 2 look like they could be articulated. Wouldn't that be great?! The more I look at it, the more I love it.
