It might not be as hot as my plasma planet, but I'm pretty happy with it so far. I might be biased though.
For anyone who wants to test and/or preview my planets and POIs, I updated my Project Eden TEST Scenario with some changes and the Plasma planet: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1676375220
We all have different systems for how we do things. Sometimes we'll even change up how we do things based on our desires or what we feel what best suits our needs at the moment. The Pelican CV was one of my personal favorite accomplishments. Maybe not my best work, but an accident in its initial development was far superior to anything I could do at the time. So I had taken my time to improve my skills as a builder so I could finish the Pelican. Well, I think it is time I give the Pelican a refit for mass and volume, and alpha 9. For this refit, I chose to paint the exterior blocks red. The full blocks so I could identify them from the inside. Then I hit a few blocks I suspected of being on the seams with blue. This way I could patch up the inside so hopefully nothing is on a seam, and I could push out some of the interior to better use the space inside. When I am done, I will repaint the ship with the original browns. As I said, the red and blue is to identify the outer hull from the inside. As you can see, the remodeled engineering section should take better use of the space. Granted, a lot of this space will eventually be walls and such to prevent catastrophic explosions gutting everything. But for now, one of the key changes is the upgrade of one of the two generators up to the generator pictured above. This improves redline tolerance significantly. The CV actually can run entirely off the one generator, but I wanted to make sure there was some redundancy, so there is a standard generator on the other side of engineering. The front of the Pelican is another area that got an overhaul. Not only did I open up the space a bit, I actually increased the storage volume available. Not pictured is the primary quarters and living space. That area is going to be a little bigger too. Also cleaning up some of the signal work.
I agree I found also - the only - Oasis on the Planet. It is shaped like an impact crater, partially filled with water and an elevated center. I love the place!
Scrap my hv and built a new one that should be able to handle the harder Zirax bases. Combat blocks, 3 plasma turrets and one Artillery Turret with plenty of storage.
Not really 'today', more like 'What did you do in Empyrion yesterday?' I'm playing @ravien_ff so-called "Eden-Test", and it is going to be great - just as I like thing to be in EGS I didn't know anything about his story but I wanted to start with some role-play as 'lonely & lost' tankman in my 'heavy scout tank' - and it turns out that 'story' I wanted to do is very compatible with his scenario 'story' I'm skipping very early environment grind, so I'm starting with HV - but my HV tank was empty of any ammo, food, medecine, it's just full with fuel and I'm playing on hard enemy settings (well with new game start after 'day-1 scenario update' I will spawn tank with some stuff from current gameplay to save time and move out faster). I'm using my A9 rework of great old McFluffFace 'land-cruiser'HV , in arctic paint scheme of course
New season coming to HWS and with it a new approach for me. I started experimenting with pvp builds this season as some of you may remember. Next season I have set a challenge to survive in pvp 24/7 with 1 ship. Only return to pve for major repairs. Will make my ammo and food on the move. I have now built my first class 7 PvP design CV. I shall take this into the new season and see what she can do. The hope is to learn from defeats and modify her gradually but ultimately she is durable enough to survive onslaughts and still warp out without major loss. There are already some things I would have done better now that I think of it. I don't claim this to be a winning pvp ship, I have sacrificed a fraction of class size for some on board features for extended pvp survival. She is completely constructed with anti lagshot blocks and has just a small room for a cockpit and nothing more. I tried my best to avoid over blockiness in places as pvp design tends to be blocky, tried to take the attention with the glowing red parts. Against my current etiquette for ship building I have had to hide all thrusters. All the turret weapons are encased in the hull with a single block to shoot from allowing only forward fire from all weapons I think she is a good first build with a fair chance of survival for a max class pvp cv for HWS. I can at least get my foot in the PvP door now and not worry about being popped in under a minute Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler
Glad it's working so far! The story is still pretty "in progress" so far but you'll find some more in orbit.
The first glimpse of that Station reminded me of the Satellite-Base @Jenniphurr https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=779895715&searchtext= did ages ago, which is now to be found as "Satellite-Wreck" here and there but this far bigger
