hey guys can i get some reviews on this build, good or bad, idc i need the feedback https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1669555063
Today i play a little bit on my first game on the arid start...found the Titan backpart and decide to make a semi permanent base. The plan ist to salvage everything an build a small Carrier CV. mfg Marbod
It was a busy day…. First I played a bit online, thought those are nice Scenes: Then I was Streaming the process of the rebuild of the Revenant: Last but not least, off-the-cam, I was playing a bit with small/starter CV's… The ugliest CV ever: And a promising candidate:
In terms of the function or the aesthetic? For the look - overall I dig it, although I personally wouldn't use that many angle breaks on the front side because there's a way to maintain a relatively uniform slope w/o breaking up the declinations so much. Whenever possible I try to keep the angles smooth or break up surfaces with with a combination of insets or extrusions. It's a really big craft so there's plenty of room to introduce trickier fidelity and shaping. This is all just a matter of preference of course. You could give the basic hull of that craft to a dozen people and each interpretation could vary significantly w/o following any reference material.
Your "Ugly" CV...haha... you will of course remember the line "What do you mean 'my Parts are showing?"
no worries bro hurmm, i see what you mean, i based the tank off this btw, as you can see the front of it is not the same as the image, had a hard time reproducing that.
I finished off updating the Naked Molerat and published it as a separate build from the original. (I figured folks might have liked how it was originally) It's good for clearing out underground bases, the only problem I have found is that the max height for the hover thrusters makes it dig a downward-sloping tunnel.
A updated/remake/revised version of my first big SV. Trying out a new style with this build and seeing where it takes me. Anyways here are a few teaser shots of the ZeroG Omega-X!
Before I went and my first trip for sathium, no pictures taken, I first spent some time in creative to touch up what I plan to use as my first CV in this survival SP game. Discovered that I was getting a little toasted in the hangar, so I stretched the CV a couple blocks. The two culprits were the thrusters... ... and the gravity generator. The stretch seemed to take care of the issue. And while I was at it, I added up all the storage and estimated that a very reasonable full load would be about 3.5 kt. So I bumped up the thrusters a little for volume mass. Even after completing my first trip for sathium, I estimate that I will need to make at least one more trip with the SV for a split load of sathium and neodymium. Once I get the CV, then I think I might be able to cut down on the multiple trips.
Don't forget about Fixed Drill Mode vs Free Drill Mode. This new direction is definitely worth further exploration!
Just trying to create my own planet. Then I had the nice idea of "automatic drilling stations". I grabbed one of the templates and rebuilt it according to my ideas. Now you have the impression of fully functional drilling rigs. Then I had the idea to build a space port with an "elevator into space". I know this is not really possible. But I wanted to see if I could at least create the illusion.
Whoever built this Zirax Patrol CV beast . BRAVO!!! This was a awesome battle... I didn't know there were AI Patrol CVs in space that were built for real combat. It took out my CV in a few minutes and I'm having to do a a fresh start just to get on a planet where I can get the resources to get back into space and repair my CV. My CV wasn't ready for this. haha I was also surprised at the size of this thing, I'm so used to my CV being bigger than the patrol CVs . This is the type of CVs I want to battle in space because this gives me a reason to built a warship. My Ship is stuck in space in another Sector while I back on the started planet. Now this is what I call fun. haha
