How dare you compare Empyrion to some cheezy point-n-click remote management flick like Civilization. For reference, a truly hard planet is the Lava starter in Alikyn's setup, which is now also on the workshop (thanks hone!) That planet is very punishing yet I find it quite well tweaked. You gotta be *very* careful and really know the game, especially if you're the permadeath type...
Ha-ha! I'm just want to say that even experienced people don like troubles when they are resting with games.
Ignoring the fact that you don't represent 'experienced people', it's exactly the experienced people that tend to be more interested in a challenge, simply because it's more rewarding for them. After having played this game for several thousand hours, I couldn't care less about any noob-oriented server with easy-win cheap settings and mod pack BS. So when I ask for a server with volume enabled, don't lecture me on what experienced players want or like. The sad thing is, there's several hundreds of servers that are permanently empty, and they run the default MP scenarios, with the default easy config etc. It's simply a waste of time connecting to any of them only to realize they are nothing but the same stock setup. The server search / filtering options could be SO MUCH BETTER, with only minimal work for the devs, yet nobody bothered bringing that section up to date

The server I play on has mass and volume enabled. Its bugs-universe If you just do a search for mass in the servers list it will pop up. Hope to see you there.
Hey, rogue_elephant, a few days ago on the local chat you said that you found other server with mass/volume enabled feature and you had a good start on it. Could you please give me the name of this server? I know only one server more with M/V which is not discussed in this thread. I will give it name in a few hours after I get home.
Server name "Barony Gaming .....". I played on it for a while, but the bug with the disappearing vessels and even whole base enforce me leave.
The Cauldron has vol enabled. It's a tough pvepvp server. PVP ultra hard start if you'd like that. Roswell's and Skynets!

3 starter planets are PVE and 3 starters are PVP with ultra hard settings on Zirax AI. The remaining systems are PVP. Galaxy is small as no need for huge galaxy if pvp is wanted. Wipe only on major updates. Everything gets wiped when I do so its fresh start for all. As for newbs the old players are on ark and atlas right now so there isn't a huge pop and ergo it makes learning easier without the terror of PVP action when you're weak. I suggest starting on the PVE starter as the PVP starter is for Pro's. The PVE starters have no Roswell's. All planets outside of these starter systems are patrolled by Roswells to varying degrees. Homeworlds are very heavily patrolled by 40 patrol vessels. Sever has been running since early 2016. Have been playing Empyrion since pre Alpha 1.3 . It's a very fast server, I reduced the slots to keep it affordable in the ebb and flow. Can increase on the fly so...it made sense.
There is PVP, but most players are PVE. There is always room for new players. We also have an active discord server where you can link up with other players, and get any help you need.
I have turned off the virtual backpack and AM in EAH. Massive amount of resources out there and loot in POIs to reduce mining. 50 AM cores haneded out at the Ancient Sphinx and in loot. No spawn pad required. Spawn as much as you want class 16 limit. I have recently restricted the PVE starter. Its accessible through the hard starter via a portal. fresh start is neutral to you...no penality just more basic survival gear. This is Rust like, you start with only what you need to survive. From there you must avoid Roswells and think about the steps to make you more powerful than the Zirax so you can destroy them and any player who challenges. Or coop with other players. Its a Rust like. There are also airdrops for starting players....to give those who start later more than a chance to be king.
