But they are a good source of scrap. I normally spend a few hours there, tearing them apart for resources.

Finally got friendly status with Polaris. For me, that was a first. Then I jumped right to honored status. Learned a couple things with friendly status. First. Finishing the PDA mission for mining, it had to be a hand drill. At first I hit it with HV miner, but only took one node. When I didn't get any credit, I was grateful that I had parked my CV nearby. Returned the mining HV to the mobile base and grabbed my point defense HV. After hitting two nodes with the T2 hand drill, I was over half way to honored. Then I took the mission to defend a site. For a moment there I was afraid that I was going to fail that mission because I had parked my CV close enough that it killed one of the attacking drones. Fortunately, there was another large drone left to find and clean up so I finished the PDA mission, thus earning honored status. Second. I learned that achieving low orbit does not interrupt the PDA defense mission. I was able to cut off 10 km of atmospheric flight by noting the geography on the map between myself and the destination. Then I went up to space and circled the world partway. Upon reentering the atmosphere, I was just a few kilometers away now and I was able to complete the mission.

Still having fun on the Official Server. Had a couple minor conflicts, one with a local resident over a raid on a Zirax facility, we were able to resolve easy enough. Moved to a different planet I’ve been enjoying the heck out of. Gravity is high, hostile are everywhere, it’s good fun. The second conflict, well, that was more entertaining. Seems a few folks are not fans of Polaris, and have been razing their bases. Ran into one of them who paid me little mind. I hung around under cover and when the pilot hopped out of his ship to eat the contents of one of their fridges, I let the cyborg security out of the building they were stuck in to deal with him. Then I took his backpack and put some distance between us. I’m not unreasonable. When said pilot asked for his gear back, I asked he leave Polaris in peace. Seemed a fair trade, and he agreed so I returned his gear. Nearly completed my new base and quite pleased with it. Will be interesting to see what happens next.
These rats are going to be no pushovers. I'm not sure if I'll use that beautiful EVE Online Hulk replica here. It's an amazing design and I love the look of the mining ships in EVE but it's a bit too high of a size class to have so many in close proximity and I'm trying to avoid replicas from other sci-fi universes in my scenario but wow did the author do a good job on it.
Got the midship SV hangar almost done. The Hayabusa has now an armored closed cockpit and a bit of shielding in front of her intaces. First try on HV entry. Yeah, its an 13x7 hangar door. The Garden has 144 growplots for now and her Bow from footlevel ------ another project: Pit 7 - secure underground production facility (with landed freighter)
Hey all Today, after waiting for it to build in the Factory - very rare I use the Factory - I spawned in a large WIP CV I started blemmin ages ago. It'd had some updates - I think the last one was adding the force field blocks when they were new - but it's very out of date. I've been going around sorting all the (oh so carefully) labelled and set up Cargo Boxes and replacing them with extendable storage. I've then got to update the Landing gear to the new, retractable ones as well as do a general tidy-up and possible texture the thing some more...I never really got very far with that. Anyway, I've posted pictures here before, but not in an age. Behold one of my very first CV's - The Titanesque: Called Titanesque as parts of the design were inspired by the original Titan Wreck Centre Section, though it's evolved a LOT since then - all purely in Survival play too. Made entirely of Combat Steel (overkill!) she has a main rear Hangar Door - not visible here - which opens into a rather huge HV and SV hangar. She also has port and starboard hangars for small SV's - you can see the Ramps (used as doors) in the picture. She also has an upper docking bay, entered from the rear, for the Captain Yacht. When I last worked on her the new heavy window blocks weren't a even a thing, but I don't think the design lends its self to using those windows at all. Lots of other tweaks I want to do though. Parked next to her is my temporary CV that actually proved to be pretty darn good, if a bit under-defended. Scoob.
One thing that is a shame...when I first built this ship, because it was heavy it used to crush any trees in its way when it landed. However, that feature has been long removed. I wonder if it will ever return? As an aside, I'm quite pleased that this CV flies well even when heavily leaden...Weights and Volumes weren't even a twinkle in the devs eyes when I first built this lol. I have now migrated over fully to it, from my prior CV. That was the goal of this game, while I waited for Alpha 10, so not quite sure what I'll do next. Scoob.
Tonight, I did some initial updates on a few of my BP. It has bothered me that hover thrusters barely work in 1 g, so I had actually put together updates for my HV with hover thrusters but had never given them paint jobs based on the originals. Might go back and clean up the device grouping and touch up some details later. For now, at least I replaced the hover thrusters with hover engines and standard thrusters. It made the HV a little bigger, a little more expensive, and now must of this group should be capable of operating in at least 2.0 g. Kept them all to the original unlock level 3 too. Not reposted to the workshop. Just updated the original 4 submissions. Recon Nymph Reveal Scout Nymph Weka Some stayed closer to the originals than others.
I've been working on a new class 5 CV to use in survival mode, small enough on the official servers but with a large hanger/cargo bay. I tried to go with a Cyber Punk/Blade Runner feel, and took some ideas from Goon's Revenant. Let me know what you think before I finish it and publish it to the workshop.
