Performing Crater-Business: Besides of building my Desert Base on the Flanks of the Crater I did almost nothing The First Step - Landing Place for CV and SV beneath Next the extension through the Sand Dunes towards the other Side What the First thing a Roman needs to be finished - before anything else? Right - A Bath (airtight)
Spent last night eating asteroids. Turns out I needed quite a few to invent enough resources to spawn in a little something nifty. It should be ready to drop in tonight, so if you’re on the US server, be ready....
*Wonders why the Lifeboat is seated to point into the Wall forcing peoples needing to escape ASAP to have to strafe out which is inefficient & risks them getting shot in their blind spot ass as they come out, or having to waste precious seconds turning their Lifeboat 90 degrees to point it the right way to fly out forwards...* If it makes ya feel better, there's gotta be a lotta us wishing we could actually get away with building Gigas SVs. *Continues praying to Arceus to someday get T2 RCS for HVs & SVs...* For the Topic: I think i've finally gotten somewhere at fighting my Creator's Block. It just needs some complicated finishing touches... ... oh, & for 'secret stuff' it's using to get Declassified...
Not sure what sort of limit there is, aside from resources and time, but I’ve built a few pretty epic sized SV’s, though admittedly at least one of these was built to be kind of cheesy - a flat glass SV that docked to the front of a CV on a Repair Bay set to auto, to function as a shield.
That is an awesome design you came up with! That is the kind of ship I could see a show centered around . You really hit the mark with that one.
I'm looking to start my next build but don't know what to make. So I have a couple question for you all. What would you like to see more of on the workshop? SV's , CV's, HV's, Bases or Space Stations? Also do you wish there was a bigger selection of lower level/survival type blueprints or more complex end game ones? As for me I'd love to see some more starter / mid game Bases. I'm always working out of a cheap prefab base until my main one is finished. And usually my end game base is something new each time I play that I build into the landscape I settle, so it's not easily re-spawnable.
I think I understand what you're saying. I will tell you that I gave it some thought as I was working on it. Loading the LB into its compartment is a bit tricky, though it gets easier with practice. However, the primary ida of a lifeboat is to escape a doomed ship, so it only has to loaded once. It's not bomomg back. I was trying to see what I could come up with that would be similar to the picture in the book. I gather what your saying (correct me if I'm wrong) the LB should be situated to shoot out straight like a torpedo. I considered that and may look at doing that very thing. Currently, my CVs are not so large as to readily accept that configuration.... But it does give me an idea!!
Okay. Since they've been returned, I won't make an entry into the Captain's Log. Don't let it happen again!
Finally got the bug to work on a long time going Project. Now with names! Formally known as Project Daedalus, I have now settled on some permeant names. Hyperion for the CV and Helios for the Station. Anyways let me flash you alls some screenies! Also here is a show showing the size comparison to the ZeroG Shipyards along with a Burke-X docked in there. I also have a Cerberus-X Docked onto the upper deck of the Hyperion.
That thing is amazing. I hope you're able to finish it someday because dayum! It'll make my Nexus Station obsolete the second it goes live but you know what? Bring it! That is a masterpiece.
Today was working on balance. Then I placed the Nymph HV next to the coming replacement so that the colors could be carried across. My math showed that the hover engines were not enough to lift much of anything once you were over 1.0 g. So I beefed up the engine and thruster counts. Well, I did drop some side thrust, which was unfortunate, but as I was messing around to get something resembling balance it was how I was able to get decent placement of the hover engines.
Worked a bit on the enlargement and the Texturing, included Grow Plots and Space for Living, Vents, Windows, Elevator to the 12m high ceiling and so on. Time to "move-in" gets closer. Named the Base "Nova Capri".
Thanks you all. The design is based off of Daemorias pharmaceutical blockade runners concept over here. https://www.deviantart.com/daemoria/art/Runner-heavy-freighter-fleet-566296738 Give her a tumps up if you happen to have an account for deviantart. Don't know if i happen to make a show out of it, but i plan to release a WIP BP when the hull is finished and put updates there on the build process. So, for who is interrested can use it early on and comment on the updates or bring their thoughts into this build.
Texturing, Placing Devices, Furnace, 2 AC, 2 CC...miscalculated the space for them so only 256k each, might be that I dig one row of blocks down... not sure yet. Finished texturing the whole Base. For now. Living Space reminds me always of the Great Hall of Moria.
