Started making a new starter planet tonight. This is going to be a post-nuclear war one. You'll wake up from cryo stasis to a post apocalyptic, dead world and you'll have to scavenge and salvage your way to building an SV to leave the planet. There'll be no ore deposits, no resource rocks, and very little life of any kind (if any at all). Just started playing around with the textures and sky.
I had to show this even if the lower back half of the main hangar isn't near finished.... thats the Nova freighter SV from McFluffFace found here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=941123470 will post a few more screens later on
I've gone way in reverse here: Gone with a "how simple can I make it" approach. Oddly, this little wireframe floater performs quite nicely, has all the absolute essentials, and not a single frill. The design does have the advantage of a modular adaptability, and adding to it allows it to transform into a wide array of applications. Might keep at this a while and see where this rabbit hole leads.
Interesting way to place a Detector... is a protective Tinfoil Hat needed to protect the Pilot from its effects? Ok, serious answer... I totally dig its adaptability. Adaptability is a strength!
That's really cool, I like it. It give me a Lunar Rover feel and seems like the perfect choice for a crashed survivor's first vehicle. Next time I start a new playthrough, I think I'll be copying your design.
Work has been slow on my station. Spoiler I kind of got stuck for inspiration working on the habitat ring. The residential one will be easy. The other one is proving a little more difficult. It's the one with the theater and sports arena. Problem is what to do with all the open space. I suppose I'll add more shops or something. Right now it looks like a bog standard mall which is ok but I wanted something with a little more wow factor to it. They need to add the shallower angle railings so I can finish up the walkway on the other side there. I had an idea for the subway though....which meant tearing off the roof and redoing it. It will give the interior of the tunnel a more curved look. I dropped the height a block so I can connect it to some of the spires under the station giving them better access but that also means I have to redo the four main subway stations.
Yesterday and today I've been working on the Steam workshop page for the alpha 10 version of my scenario (not yet public) to update the description and more accurately reflect the current state of development.
Since I'm going to add a lot of starter planets to my scenario, I wanted to improve the starter planet selection menu a bit by making it easier to navigate:
Wow, straight forward and cool solution with the highlighting of the planet names! Will start a new game in it when you get it ready for A 10. Building now a base for my Anvil to park it on and finish it there in your cenario. The new blockshapes are a such a gain for A10.
Still trying to get it out this week, but I ran into a couple issues that had to be fixed due to changed in A10.
