@Alo/upsetkiller Are you in a faction? Are those in your faction are shown in their respecitve location? Are those ? shown for players in YOUR faction or for those in the other factions? Please give us more details
- Yes I am in a faction. - Yes, those in my faction show their respective locations correctly via the (default) B menu. - I don't see the location of players in other factions (as intended) - I can see the location of players who are 1) not in my faction, 2) not in any other faction Sometimes though, my own location isn't shown in the (default) B menu. Instead of showing where I am at that moment (Omicron, Omicron Orbit, Trading Station, etc.) it merely shows a "?".
All of your bulletpoints are intentional (the third may be players not in a faction at all) Did you notice "connection lost" blinking a lot lately? (Ahead of these issues)
Are there any admin tools available to spawn items on a dedicated server? Or would my best bet be to take the server down, make it a creative game, spawn in items, then change it back? Thanks!
Admins can't spawn in items (yet). You could use the workaround for spawning blueprints...but this won't work for individual items (like food)
Ah, I didn't realize you could do that. I guess then, I could build a vessel, attach a cargo box to it with the appropriate supplies, and blueprint that? Or is it similar to fuel tanks and batteries, in that it does not copy boxed cargo?
You can import a container with all the stuff in it you need if your the admin, you can import buildings or ships etc too. You cant do it through the blue print system it doesn't copy inventories.
Yes. Here's a quote from my initial post: "When I change playfields and press 'B' my location is sometimes shown as a "?" instead of the name of an actual playfield. This is often combined with the "Connection to server lost" error."
i think we should at least be able to see the location of players in other factions who are in the same play field as us ?
Hi I run since some day my private dedicated server and play with some friends. So since i started it several fixes/updates came out. I allways used the save & exit on the servergui then i started steam and updated the server. Then i restart the machine. and start up the server. So since i have some weird behaviour encountered, ships stuck in orbit , ships dissapearing ect im quite not sure how to advance. I wiped the server yesterday and did a fresh start so today another quick update with fixes and i did the same like described until yet no problem on the new server but now i logged in and in one constuctor where i put ore everything was gone, also a small vessel dissapeared completly again. Now what should i do ? Wipe it again and fresh start (my friends will hate me ) or just continou and look if it happens again with this version (30.1215) 5.0.2.0271
This sounds like your computer or connection are not good enough to run the server. I started out hosting out of my house, then moved to an external hosting company for $25 per month (gtxgaming) because of issues and it was way better but still had a lot of problems. I then moved to pingperfect as a host, and splurged for the max cpu and ram package, and now we have much fewer issues. Major crashes, lost ships, tears, certainly, but a whole slew of problems have either been reduced or eliminated to some degree. My sense is that many of the problems like the ones you describe and that we all experience are due to a fundamental issue in how a slow client or server can drastically affect the severity and frequency of bugs. Bottom line is the slow the server the more problems you will have. If you have a fast server like mine you will also experience issues when too many people login (like 30+) where something just can't take it and it crashes. I hope some of this rambling helps! You need 32gb of ram to run one of these babies very well, and mine seems to want 64gb so the system requirements are steep.
just an FYI. Win 7 64bit uses ~1.6-2.5 GBs of RAM just to run the OS, depending on what your doing. That is leaving approximately 1.5-2gb of RAM for everything else that is running on the PC. You need more RAM.
hello. im just wondering if it will be possible in the future to join a dedicated server via a dynamic dns server adress like itsanamazinggame.ddns.net well i just created one and it seems its not possible atm. im looking forward
I have noticed that if you logout in a CV in space and someone moves the CV, you end up outside the ship. Is there any plans of binding players to ships/passenger seats?
New space map has reviled all the bases and ships even if they are more than 200 km away. It is quite surprising for survival full PvP servers ;-)
