Had a fiddle with a basic unarmed scout vehicle for planetary surfaces, doesn't really need a lot but still wanted it to look half decent. I present the Scarab! As it's basic it only has a couple of fuel tanks and a couple of cargo boxes, no oxygen or fridges. Easy enough to add them on though!
For the more dangerous regions and POIs I decided it might be nice to bring a bit of firepower. The Scarab got an uprated version, the Mk II: Features on this one include two fridges concealed at the rear, two small ammo boxes, and of course the all-important two minigun and single rocket launcher turrets!
@juhlenedni awsome aurora, do you have some more details? I just started 2 days ago so my first attempt were to build a fighter (x-302) and a transporter/ferry (Jumper) Maybe you have some suggestions and advices for me
One tip I can offer ya, think twice before placing Weapons far out on the Wings... or you'll have a awful time of both being able to eyeball where their shots will go & in trying to concentrate your damage where ya want it, & trying to spread all your damage out willy nilly will just be frivolous use of Ammo. Hope this helps.
@Tyrax Lightning yes, got that when i made my first weapon test in creative, no problem if you're close enough to large targets but for smaller ones like drones a center placed gun is way better. For Elite Dangerous there are 2 types of weapon attachment; stable and flexible
Hey Lads and Gents, today i want to present you my current project; The X-304 Deadalus (not ready yet but still awsome .... and huge) For now it's full functional to fly and full manouverable for 15min. (it's really huge with 53 kt Mass and with 12 big generators, 100 RCS and near to 2.000 Thruster it's still moving like a stone) 1) first front-view. 2) Current Bridge 3) Back-View while flying Hope you like it so far, updates on progress soon
With all those cool ships idea's started poppin into my head, and as a technical designer, I can't have an idea without creating it. Remember, this is my first (ever) selfmade spaceship of any kind in Empyrion or any other game for that matter. it's going to masure about W-D-H 90-65-60 (i hope) and is under going changes while I build and learn... it's a CV but still, damn it's going to be huge the core is centered in the ship, 20 blocks from the back, so it's quite secure, atm I'm working on the shapes of the ships back end (thrusteres only there for masurement) the cockpit is a major designflaw and will be eddited along the way. plans: 1 or 2 big hangarbays for larger small ships, smaller ones for smaller ships (yay) and 2 tiny ones for maintenence ships. and of course defences, both automatic and manual. also the plan for a major operational spacestation with a dockingstation large enough for this bad boy is forming in my cursed head. one Q? I see that hullblocks and hull walls have exactly the same amount of armor and hitpoints but not the same weight. is it possible to use the walls for the exterior hull and save alot of weight this way or is there a hidden attribute? pictures:
Nice project mate Regarding walls - I use them even for exterior hull, replacing full hull blocks at certain sections Keep in mind though that a wall takes the whole space of a block. In order to have a smooth and spaceful interior I often use wall and truss block combinations.
Thanks, you gotta try right And good to know about the walls for exterior hull, I might need to do that to save alot of weight. I'm wondering, does the placement of the core affect the 3rd person viewpoint of the ship. course when I go into the cockpit (the one spawned with the core) I see the ship from so far above the ship that I have to use "alt" (freecam) to see it. The ship is pointet in the right direction and isn't upside down... so I'm a bit confused. ohh and btw, couldnt help myself:

A word of warning on those Turret Positions: As of the time of this Post, Turrets are willing to try to shoot through its own Ship to try to attack Enemies... & they CAN friendly fire damage...
