holy crap gratz, i do hope you share this on the workshop one day id love to use it and use it for inspiration!
I think I figured out how to make a PDA mission where players build a detector (using up components and money) and then can activate it on a cooldown and cost to detect resource rich asteroids in space. I need to test this but if it works then I can make a mission chain to keep upgrading your detector to detect more valuable asteroids and even other things too!
Playing a little survival today and built an SV. The new flight model makes SVs so satisfying to fly and build now.
(CV) Accipiter - Escort Class. Envisioned Level 20, CPU T2, 2(later 4) Rocket launchers, 8 Sentry, 2 Rocket Turrets. Hull mainly Hardened Steel. WIP Length up to 100m, height 20m, wide 20m.
I didn't know The Human Blob had a little brother in Empyrion! Might help if it actually told us what "S.P.Q.R." actually meant... or other peeps dunno what it means & are forced to guess... My guess: Spud Peoples Quotient Republic Micro SVs got hit really hard by the way Thruster Torque got Implemented. Being Micro in combo with Torque Thrusters wishing to be farther away from Creation Center of Mass are having some seriously bad Synergy problems... Hey, at least it looks Practical.
That was the point. I am a ex-paratrooper and have been in real world survival situations before. Wings, antenna's, radar dishes, lab equipment, etc. all take resources to build. When you are in a survival situation with little resources you want something quick & practical. Something that gets the job done with the fewest resources possible. Many of my early builds follow those guidelines. I have been adding deco items to my more resent builds to make them more popular, but the ones I personally use have nothing that does not serve a useful purpose.
Enough for today. 5 Hours working on this bloody "boat". At least it is technically finished. Even if our nice CPU-Count System IGNORED that I had a L-Thruster installed and counted only the M-Thruster. When that gets fixed the Ship would not do anything because of going waaaay over CPU-T2 limit...so I replaced the L with 4 M...works for me too...and it left about 100k reserves. CV Accipiter - Escort-Class (Accipiter means Falcon) View from the Bridge/Pilot Seat More Pics..
Clean and simple, just the way I like it. It would fit very well in my fleet. Most of these are a vaiation of the same core ship. I just kept tinkering when new things became available. I was a "Leg", but a mechanized one (12B30). My track carried tools for construction as well as destruction and we always carried extra "rats" (Vienna sausages, Beanie Wienies, & Pop-tarts).
A Question, help suggestion.... I am a bit back into building again, when I have time, and are almost finished with a ship I started building long time ago. But the last detail, I have changed so many times, I have starred myself blind on it, so here are: On my bridge, I have 5 light settings depending on whats on in the ship, see SC: I have 2 settings for when landed (White and Blue) and 3 for flight, (green, yellow and red) The switches are: Engines, Engine boosters, Life support, External light (for when landed), shield, passive weapons, active weapons, and sentry weapons. What would you suggest I have on or off, for each of those settings?
All Texturing done...currently a bit undecided if I put a Constructor in...but how else should I refine Pentaxid, Promethium and produce Ammo if I don't?
To keep you from guessing...obviously not one of your strength's.. SPQR SPQR is an initialism from a Latin phrase, Senātus Populusque Rōmānus, referring to the government of the ancient Roman Republic, and used as an official emblem of the modern day commune of Rome. It appears on coins, at the end of documents made public by inscription in stone or metal, in dedications of monuments and public works, and was emblazoned on the standards of the Roman legions. The phrase appears many hundreds of times in Roman political, legal and historical literature, including the speeches of Cicero and the Ab urbe condita libri of Titus Livius.
That's why I usually mount minigun turrets on builds I place a small constructor in. They are the only turrets you can use a small constructor to make their ammo.
A few changes had to be made on her Trials: I replaced the 8 Small Generators - you'll find nothing other within the area of Space on and around the Dead Planet - with 2 T1 Generators which might be Overkill but for even sided placement... Also I placed beneath them the Large Constructors and upgraded it - after liberating the poor Souls of the UCH-Colony Vessel - to an advanced Constructor. Fridges and a Food-"Constructor"(CPU-Grouping) rounded the picture up.
If ELEON does not consider it at the Moment or in the near future...be the first to add CPU-Parts as rewards instead of Money Cards
Already have a mission that does! The survey planets ones reward optronics, and I plan on adding some more missions too. Some POIs have CPU extenders. The Drone faction has a lot.
