It's necessary for the Retractable Turret Device to keep those top Block Spaces reserved for its use so other Blocks/Devices can't intrude into them... not even Blocks making up the floor of a Landing Pad. Docking Pads/Landing Gear should also be placed where the bottoms of them will be the part most sticking out on that side of the Creation for maximum effectiveness. Even in the future, Nature is still built to fight!
I just wish it did so in a legitimate manner. I would LOVE to see some hazardous flora. Think about these: 1. It looks like any other dead tree, until you go to cut it down, when it gets up, lashes out, maybe flips your HV, because it's not just another dead tree. 2. It looks like a giant termite mound, but venture too close and it sends forth a swarm of stinging, biting, vision-obscuring, disease-harboring, venomous insects. 3. It looks like pile of grape coral, growing peacefully near the water's edge, but get too close and out come some wicked strong tendrils to give you a sound thrashing. 4. Weird, alien plants do weird alien things - like pop open to splash you with hot, magma-like goo, sticky, searing acid, sharp, thorny, toxic shards, or a dose of dermal parasites. Just a few of hundreds of possibilities to keep us on our toes and make sure we stock medicines as we travel.
That's great to hear! I mean oh no, I hope you got out unharmed! That would be really cool. Finally those trees can get their revenge on those HVs!
@Minelaus If you ever run out of Ideas what ship should follow next OR you fear your ship isn't big enough .... Look here - >
If you've built everything else and just want to win PVP: You just can't beat a good, old fashioned, 9 layers of armor thick Borg Cube. No, really, you can't beat them. They're frelling indestructible - that's why everyone hates them.
Showing my brother my current progress on the crashed prison transport: Here he found the armor locker with our confiscated equipment: And some other goodies: But there's a catch: the armor locker is in the room across the hall, in an area without air! Have to make a run for it! It is a pretty planet when you're not being shot by angry Zirax or chased by hungry predators:
Today I found a kind of cheesy way to make a really long fall and survive uninjured. While poking around in various Zirax buildings, since they don't hate me, I found myself on a Xenu Manframe, with no good option to get down, so I rode my motorbike off the edge. And landed on the ground. Completely uninjured. Figured at minimum, my bike would break, but nope, nothing. Just a quick way down without getting hurt.
Today I took my hauler and tunneler out for a spin. I have to admit I like the tunnels that thing can make. Granted it can only store 500 stone. But it's not for digging up ore. It's quicker to do that with a hand held drill and drone. Sorry just had to hop out and take a photo on the way back to swap to my hauler. Jump out and jump in. All ready to head back down the tunnel 12 K's to the Armory Coming back from my raid on the place. Trust me it wasn't really worth it Ok I did get a t2 multitool Safely back to my CV after 2 deaths, 2 Troop transports. 1 death by dog and one death to a missile! All that for a meager spare t2 multitool
Work continues on the OBERON Mk2, as time allows,.... Still tweaking the hull and exterior styling here and there, and the interior is slowly taking shape as well.
Today I... Spawned a base I designed. Oh, don't let the look fool you - there's a lot of base in this base, and more than a few guns on the surface to greet uninvited guests. It also has a few surprises as well, features a full-sized workshop, living area, and plenty of comforts.
Working some more on the Rogue planet start! You wake up to find yourself here: This ship is a mess! To unlock the door and escape the ship you need to find keycards: Ah! There we go: Approaching the keycard will change the message to say it's been obtained. It was nice of the Zirax to perform a planetary scan for you. Will help you survive because escaping the ship is only the first step: Walking up to the door will use the keycard: You'll need to find a red keycard too before the door opens and you earn your "freedom": Home sweet home, at least until you can get off this barely habitable planet: It will have an accompanying PDA mission, but the mission won't be necessary. Blueprint factory is disabled on the planet, orbit, and moons, and you'll be needing a CV to leave the planet.
Been awhile but I uploaded a new BP today! StarScreamer - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1982443936 Anyways I have a few more builds I am working on so I should have more to post really soon~
Epic Sexiness as always! ^_^ Though... with that said... for the sake of ZeroG & your own personal safety & future, ya might wanna read this, then rethink the Name...: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheStarscream
In my Shamelessly Biased Opinion, nonsense... better risk too much Armor then too little I say. The Malevolent forces of Space prey on the naive...
A few more pics of the OBERON Mk2. Some exterior changes. Interior taking shape, but not even close to being complete.
I played 3D tetris with my little HV to see what could be crammed into it. It measures only 7w x 5h x 12d (because this seems a good size and maximum drill spread for fast mining without snagging or difficulty turning), into which is crammed: 6 drills and harvester, spots and detector 2 gatling guns 3 retractable turrets Over 5K each of ore and cargo storage 500 ammo storage 3 generators 2 fuel tanks, 2 ox tanks, 1 pentaxid tank Extra up/down thrusters to ease asteroid mining Hover engines (incl 2 large ones) and booster T3 extensions and shield generator And an air-tight back cabin with constructor, medical, fridge, locker, o2 station, wifi It is intended to be built in a stripped down form L5 as T1, and then upgraded to this as you unlock stuff, find resources etc. Don't ask why - it just is Quite handy for underground POI pillaging.
