Description: When in range of a station (300m) which has the station services enabled, open the control panel of your vessel (P) and find the new tab 'Station Services'. You can buy and refill fuel, ammo and pentaxid, as well as repair your ship (repair-2-template!) and quick-load your shield - in case you have the required credits. The availability of station services (and which services are offered) can be set individually for an orbital or planetary POI in the playfield_static.yaml PROPERTIES entry. The pricing is taken from a new parameter, set in the ItemsConfig.ecf. This base pricing can then be further modified by factors in the playfield_static.yaml file. The station services can be tested at the Polaris Trading Station on the Temperate starter planet. You can also find a setup example in its playfield file!
Notes: You can use it only if your Reputation standing is Neutral or better. Everything is paid with your player balance (if you use an ATM to convert MoneyCards or GoldCoins) It is taken then "recently attacked" value into account, like when warping. So if you are in battle or got attacked within the last 20 seconds, you can't use the station services It is respecting your Container Volume (e.g. Ammo), when you play with Mass & Volume enabled Depending on your faction reputation standing you get discounts or price penalty The categories you see at the top are factors of the base price (set in the ItemsConfig.ecf. Everything configurable) Pentaxid is bought with credits and Pentaxid Refined is put in your Tanks. Shield refill to 100% is just done by credits (based on the Pentaxid price). No Pentaxid is given to you.
Nice Maybe should have put the polaris station a bit further away - Now when you mine at start - polaris hates you
Nice. I think there should also be an option to sell Fuel/Oxygen/Pentaxid, not just buy it. Some stations should be partially out of order. Only after player has made an investment (rare parts/resources) should the station become fully operational.
Is there going to be any visual indicator about this? At least when approching a "refil candidate" Orbital Station/Planetary POI?
To enable station services it would be nice to link it to a block, so if you put that block on a base the base gains the station services. It could be interesting to have several blocks each activating a service, with service parameters configurable in the block devices menu. Player bases could offer services too and put money on player account so players can build their own network of stations on the unexplored&wild galaxy.
Hello, i've played this game a ton already for many months now, it's a great game I love it. With regards to the Station Services, it should be a block that you can interact with because this will help immersion, and will also allow the player to build it on their own space stations if they want, to use with their own ships. This block could look like a station of some sort , perhaps a terminal, or a person behind a desk as is popular with other bases and prefabs. Also, there should be limits of what you can do, just like the shops have a limited inventory of food or specific items, the amount that you can repair, or refill, or whatever it is, in one go, should be limited, otherwise it will just become a sink for people who have found a way to accumulate lots of wealth to get fuel over and over again without having to work for it.
So is the station only able to resupply the ammo that can be sold by the traders at the station? Or is 15mm the only thing you can restock. None of my other ammo types showed up in the listings for me.
This would be a great idea for overall game economy if that is the direction the game is heading toward. I guess mainly for multiplayer but given the ever increasing number of factions, and some greatly improved levels of AI autonomy, then maybe in the future a player could set up a base offering such a service to passing AI factions in SP games. Haha you guys must be pulling your hair out at all of these suggestions but if we don't tell you our dreams we can never hope to get the absolute best experience!
hmm just tried the station repair service with my sv sitting inside the stations docking area.. pressing the button took the money but didn't repair the ship, some error message about area blocked happened tho.. went flying outside tried again (took the money again) same error, still no repairs. Either the feature is very buggy still or could need a bit more explanations, like does the ship need to be in a specific position/powered down or something, taking monies and no repair applied is a known bug i assume ?
Normally, the "area blocked" message comes because the bounding box of the ship has something in it. It's definately a bug that you are being charged before this is checked: you should be told to move your ship somewhere clear for the repair before taking your cash (but hey, Polaris ARE greedy.... ) The bounding box is basically a cube around your ship that is the furthest in each direction of the longest block. So if you have a wedge-shaped ship, and there is something just left/right of the "point" of the wedge, it may be inside the bounding box. Anything (tree, rock, NPC, you) can block the repair. Note also, that some blocks appear very small, but are quite large. Flares for example. Also, uneven terrain can "block" the bounding box, if you are landed on the ground. Some blocks can extend down into the ground (e.g. ramps). The bounding box is defined by ramps in the OPEN position, so even if they are closed, your box may extend "down" into the ground. Make sure your ship is in the clear in ALL directions. Don't do repairs docked: do them in mid-air to one side of the station. They have a big radius for services--use it.
I also had a similar problem, with the same message, with repairs in my Base's Repair Bay. Turns out that i had left the Shield on, when i got it turned off, i was able to repair things as expected.
I just had the trader charge me for the repairs and not do the repair. It looks like something was in the repair box like the others above. It definitely should not charge if it can't repair.
