Can we have some kind of pontoon type block? The purpose is to provide floatation for 'floating' water surface bases such that the pontoon block provides the kind of structural integrity platform that building on land would provide.
a low level repair bench (Tier 1) that can repair the basic things, that doesnt cost more than a few basic resources. we keep the current repair station, that can still repair everything, that would be the Tier 2 repair. T2 maybe a bit higher level and keeps the rare resource costs.
I want to suggest a new tool for blocks, one that would remove the need for ever needing to add new shapes to the game, as it would allow the user to design it's own shapes. First, for perspective, imagine the current blocks larger, and divided in a section of 4 x 4 x 4, as displayed bellow using currently available shapes: Now, imagine the blocks divided into the 4 x 4 x 4 sections, as I marked bellow on a cube block: Now, how this tool would work. The tool would have 3 settings, the first one would be to design a shape, it would work like this, the user selects the points he want to remove, and the system splits the block between the points the user clicked, then the user selects which side to remove from the block, like this: The second setting would be to apply the 'carving' into existing blocks, like the painting and texture tool works now, it would apply a selected shape into existing blocks. The third option would be to select previously saved shapes, either game default ones, or user created shapes. This would allow for the creation of multiple different new shapes without the need to implement new ones by the developers, some examples below, using the same perspective from the examples above:
A ramp is really needed in sizes: 5x7x5, 7x7x5, 8x7x5 garage doors: 1x7, 1x8, 1x9 I really miss them in shipbuilding =)
Only a single window shape is missing for the construction of glass domes and spheres. The surface of 2x Corner Half A3 Medium 2x Sliced Corner D 2x Cut Corner C
Can we have an extending elevator block for CVs (and maybe even BAs)? Basically take the existing elevator block, and make a version that provide a top force field to seal in air and the bottom should extend down like landing gear. There should be two versions - extend by 1 block (1x1x2 volume), extend by 2 blocks (1x1x3 volume). This way we could have elevators that can be extended down to the ground when landed. This would also be a big help in high G planets. As this would need a force field in the new blocks, maybe also merit in an elevator block that didn't extend, but did provide a force on one cube surface. One could take this even further - have force fields on all surfaces, and if one were used on a CV and the other one a base (or another CV), then we could have a simple extending access way between them. The extensions could even be proximity sensitive like landing gear. As a quick and dirty version could probably even use the existing elevator block models, maybe with some small adjustment (adding force fields, animating the extension etc).
Organic material blocks, like zerg, at StarCraft2 changing (programming) the DNA of a cell, we can get different matter. for example organic doors. Organic costructor. Organic blocks of various kinds. (xeno/alien block for small ship) The ability to colorize xeno/alien block Organic ship (organic cockpit, etc) Organics bio generator fuel on meat and plant. Organic Engine. / RCS Organic weapon / turret Organic Armor What does it look like Growing Plot / Plant Grow / All Plant for small ship Solar Panel for small / big ship Bed for small ship
Terrain Blocks. So we have concrete, wood, carbon fiber, and steel blocks, etc, with all the block shapes and their own pallet of textures and we have filler blocks which adopt the texture of the terrain they're placed in once the game spawns the structure but they only come in one shape. What about a terrain block? It would have all the block shapes but texture wise it would be dirt, grass, stone, lava, snow, sand, water, slime, etc. They could be used on structures you don't plan to turn into a POI for example. More importantly they can be used on interiors or other parts of a structure and the variety of shapes and textures would allow you to do some interesting things with them.
3. Which devices do you think are ripe for an optical rework? Smart (Programmable) LCD screens This absolutely touches on optical rework (functionality).. how about allowing LCD screens to reflect global variables? An example use case would be have an LCD in a base reflect the run time remaining on current fuel.
types of lights you can attached to the CV/HV that are more industrial in nature kind of like the Deco items
LCD Projector blocks.. a full block, with multiple LCD projectors in it. especially on CV and BA you run out of room for LCDs quickly.. I like HUD LCDs! you place the block and get say 4 or 6 LCD projectors all facing the same way, but individually modifiable. could be just the same we have.. with scroll down on the side if we want more LCDs in a block (BA or CV).
Please consider variant of existing spotlights in 'Cylinder' block shapes. Maybe a cut version for the angled variant. Maybe full length and half length variants?
I'd be really happy with addition of just one block. Heavy Window to fill this shape (the white triangles): https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd....136/2318391FC697F71E5D0EEED43E5368ABEE440840/ https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd....173/620AA1A535E9B54A10B05230808A4683CEEE3EF0/ It's this block shape out of the armored window blocks ("Corner 1x1"): https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd....968/1B52FD0160512D5E1C994AA82F7A3DCA773CBE0F/ Which looks like this: https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd....248/6B717DE9D47103A206690129EFD29305055C94EE/ I'm looking for just the window, with no edging at this point. But if you look at what I'm doing, I *should* be asking for edging on one point and one side, as well as another block that needs edging on the side it currently doesn't have it. I could get the info on those, if anyone else might find them useful, but I'd be able to complete my ship's window upgrade with just that one block... ... don't know if anyone else would use it, but thanks for considering.
Handrail for ladders 1x2 There are only 1x1 stairs, but forgot about the 1x2 stairs =) On the screenshots below the staircase and actually an attempt to install a railing on it
I'm working with the Corner C block and there's a particular block which would be awesome to have. I've put together three screenshots to help illustrate, the red outlines show the slanted slopes. I'm hoping together the three screenshots show the desired shape
Love the new heavy windows, but there are a number of shapes I think are missing. A X and T shape for the windows would be great. I would also like to see shapes that we have for the Armoured windows added to the new heavy windows. I'm attaching some screenshots here to show what I'm thinking of. First two images shows a missing X and T connector . The third image shows examples of the shapes from the Armoured(T2?) windows I would like to see for the New Heavy(T3?) windows.
1) Ladders for HV/SV. 2) Default Angled blocks-thin 3) More, bigger, wider, forefields... --> Had to place lamps to hide the forcefield thingies.... 1x4 , 1x5, 1x6 3x3, 3x8, 3x9 4x4, 4x7x 4x9, 4x11 5x7, 5x9, 5x11 7x11, 7x14
