I know but you need to make sure it is playable. Other wise will end be just for decoration purposes. This is a game after all.
If its not going to be offered no one will try it. And since the Dark Rogue Planet was available it was several times tried and enjoyed. You can read all the time that people think that even the hard setting on the vanilla game is not a real challenge - therefore GO ROGUE!
I definitely agree with you that it needs to be doable. The rogue planets suffered from the armor durability problem that made them much harder than they should have been. Now that's fixed and snipers no longer one shot people so it can actually be completed. But you will still die a few times due to mistakes or bad luck. There's only so far my personal testing can go since difficulty is very subjective and what someone finds easy another finds hard. I definitely appreciate feedback and I watch let's play videos to see how other people experience it.
Deffinitely. Sure, I ultimately decided to abandon it, but not for a lack of knowladge on how to beat it, but because It's a bit different kind of challenge than I enjoy.
I should clarify; when I say "definitely beatable" I mean that by the end of it I was damn near shaking - it is very, very hard. But I did it without dying after... um, I dunno, 4 - 6 hours? Time kinda blurred together there for a bit. Just remember to take everything that Ravien gives you and them some. Check out visual clues that seem out of place or might actually be functional via clever building. And ALWAYS keep thinking and moving. The darkness and cold are not your friends. Give it a second go! Do not give up!
I just started Playing again i started up a server for my friends and me. I noticed that when i build and underground base. And i come back the next day its filled back in. Is there a setting i need to changes to stop this? If there is please let me know thanks.
No it's a game bug, usually if you restart your game and reconnect it will fix itself. Sometimes it requires a server restart.
Is there any Reason/Explanation behind the Planet Numbering in the Epsilon System? I - VI and VIII...no VII? Has it been destroyed? Or should this lonely Asteroid Field be its remnant? Eventually to be renamed as "Remnants of Epsilon VII" ...destroyed by a Zirax Super Weapon...or a Meteor Collision..
Just tried an ultra hard rogue start... YOU FREAKING GENIUS! Good god this game hasn't challenged me like that in a while. Or ever. Died so many times. If only I had known, I would've started this Saturday and taken the weekend to get gud.
Regarding the changes of A12. I want to prepare your scenario with altered planet size probability before I start to play. How can I achieve that in order to have it without issues ? One issue is the updates of the original content from WS. Other issue is that if I put the edited one under the scenario folder, when I try to select it to start a new game, it gives CoQ messages and it never starts.
Planning to try the Dark Rogue start next chance I get, however I do have a concern. I really LOVE tough starts - the prior Dead Planet being one of my favourites - but my concern with the Dark Rogue is more of a vanilla problem. The vanilla game still has enough issues to frustrate at times, and when a scenario or a specific POI ramps up the difficulty this can often make bugs seem more prevalent. My single biggest issue is Zirax and some Turrets firing through solid blocks. Zirax Commanders are a MAJOR problem in this regard, but plenty of the other Zirax manage it too. I've noticed too that, quite often, when the player is behind cover, a clear visual LoS on a target will still the the player "hitting" the block they're taking partial cover behind. Bad hit box. However, when this occurs a Zirax or Turret is still often fully able to hit the player, we just cannot shoot back reliably. The same is true with some of the Melee Critters, being able to hit the player through blocks that should provide perfect cover. From my own experiences in the past, and from watching Spanj's Dark Rogue experience thus far, these issues are really really blatant. I think Spanj is a more skilled player than me in some ways, but I temper that with additional caution - plus I'm always making sure my weapons are loaded lol. However, even seeing him take a more cautious approach, he's regularly taking damage he simply should not. Going in guns blazing while in heavy armour you expect to get shot up a bit, that's fine. Sneaking around though - not that we can really sneak currently of course - and using cover etc. yet still getting hit - through blocks - gets old fast when the challenge is already high. Seeing Spanj smartly taking cover, as I do, step out of cover and pop off a couple of shots, as I do, before then diving back into cover...and then being hit is a worry. This is in no way a black mark on this Scenario, it's amazing, but it does show the Alpha state of the game and some of the less-polished areas. I really hope Eleon can work on all things hit-box, as it'll make tougher Scenarios and POI encounters MUCH more enjoyable. How are others finding things? Like I said, I love challenging scenarios, but get exceedingly frustrated when I still take damage while under cover. This is likely in-part due to my really working hard not to die - I role-play that it has proper consequences, so it's important to me to avoid deaths at all costs. I hope, with crouching potentially coming in A13, a review of hit boxes / LoS will also take place as this will make POI raids in particular MUCH more fun. Scoob.
Funnily enough, after my whinge about various vanilla issues, I didn't really experience many problems with badly behaving Zirax. I didn't get shot through a block even once inside the crashed ship. Quite enjoyed this start. Going outside, I shot as many Zirax and Ripper Dogs as I could to clear the area, then started moving East - just a random direction choice, nothing on the scanner - looting the odd box (I was very full) and shooting more Zirax. I got ambushed by one of those wooden dude - LOADS of really valuable loot, sprouts and wood, so useful - but I had to store it all in a nearby box as I was full. I eventually found a single Iron Ore rock so I could craft a Constructor and, after a lot of rock mining, I had a small HV. I went back to my loot box - got ambushed by another wooden dude, more loot - killed a few Zirax and was just about to leave when two (possibly three) Drone started attacking. At least one was Plasma Drone, but luckily it was aiming at me, not my HV....it missed both. I jumped in the HV and fled. I've since been camping out in random places, harvesting Ore rocks and normal rocks and gradually building up. Just in the process of replacing the ground repulser engines with "proper" hover engines and thruster...should make the HV more wieldy, though I worry about fuel consumption. One minor issue though. Sound effect. I repeatedly hear low growling noises while in the middle of no where, really, nothing is about. It happened so often that one time I missed an actual Ripper Dog that spawned very close to me. I'd been at my "camp" for a couple of nights, no critters, good all-around visibility (it ain't that dark), when the Ripper Dog appeared right on top of me. Sound cue are important to me - hence why I hate that positional sound is broken in Empyrion - but I've spent a lot of time looking for critters that just aren't there. So far though, great fun and no deaths - though I am being my usual super cautious self. Scoob.
