    Add furnace, deconstructor to CVs. It seems pointless to me to have a planetary base since the galaxy was added to the game. I just can't see myself teleporting or warping from one system to another just to get back to a stationary base, just to use a deconstructor or furnace. I would rather spend my time warping to a new system and attacking hostile factions.
    Add more ship classes. Keep CV, but add classes like destroyer, cruiser, dreadnought maybe? Each class of ship would have its own limits to the amount of weapons that could be mounted. More/bigger ship, more weapons. You could make the ships max speed different. i.e. bigger ships are slower.
    Crew! The general idea being this...
    "Not everyone escaped, some where captured by the Zirax. They are being held in various/random POIs. Rescue any that can be found!"
    These crew could decide to "help" you run your base or CV. Gunnery officer would give a slight increase to rate of fire, and accuracy of your weapons. Engineer would give a slight increase to shields, generators, engine performance/durability, a slight decrease in repair time/resources needed for repairs after a battle. Agriculture officer would tend to your grow plots, giving a slightly better yield to your crops, maybe even harvest for you? As well as any other type of crew that could be found in a human fleet. If the above idea of different ship classes was added, there could be a set amount of crew allowed per ship. Based on class size maybe? If this was added, i would suggest the "Human" crew be removed from merchants.

    Hey welcome to the forum.
    Well first of all your post belongs here.
    Now, the limitation of some devices to a Base are there to motivate a player building also bases. If you would cancel these limitation there would be barely no reason anmore to built a base.
    About thedifferent Ship classes. The idea behind CPU was to force you building this way but it just does half of its job. The CPU is ... well that's another topic.
    Crew members: The idea is old. I like your version. Maybe we will get this one day.

    i think you must also increase the difficulty of the AI... i suggest a custom setting.. it can be simple like the size of wave.. also it would be awsome if you can equip a planatery destroyer on your CV... it must be **** expensive and take a long time to use . once activated all the AI factions on that plannet will attack you.. just a suggestion

    The story messages are removed a bit too fast and if you hit pause, you loose teh whole convo. Need a space to continue before clearing for the next thing said. Checking PDA, I also didn't see a way to re-read any of it there.
