Thanks for the "clarification" - I will just have to repeat myself: Good luck Eleon, you are going to need it ...
This statement gives me no confidence. But then nothing the team says gives me confidence since the introduction of volumetric lighting. The promise of a switch to turn it off, no switch has ever come, but they did claim they "fixed" it. Volumetric lighting is still there and still diminishing my enjoyment of the game.
Thanks for the clarification, but I still can't see any reason not to call the next version beta 1; from every reasonable perspective that's what it will be
Thanks for the info - so no paid DLC's neither money traps in the near future, that's cool. This is a good and fun game so far, but still have a lot of potential to realize. What about using this featured picture to create a new warp animation? And some sort of blueprint puzzle, instead of magically appearing out of air, the blueprint would be a holographic template to actually build your vehicle or base over it. More immersion, you know… ;-) Edited: So the hyperspace animation was already in place under experimental, that's cool. Too bad my 4GB VGA can't perform it well, or it is bugged, but still it is nice. Next step for Empyrion- it's a suggestion:
Excellent post and exactly what the players needed to clarify some things! This shows that you guys are definitely listening to your players and making carefully thought out responses. I bought this game for $7.99 which is a damn steal for how much hours I already put in, but now I'm wondering if there's more I can do to help fund this game? You said no DLC for a the foreseeable future (I can hear players cheering), but what about some kind of supporter pack or something? Here's what Natural Selection did - people who helped fund the game earned a special title of "Constellation Member" who gained access to a private forum and had a special symbol by their name in all servers. Nothing that gives them an unfair advantage, but something to show for the support. I recommend something like this. I feel like I cheated you guys out of money by getting this for $7.99, it totally blew away my expectations. (I would be happy to buy copies of the game for people but I have already brought all my friends on board, we are running a public dedicated MP server and having a blast, looking forward to more fixes, improved systems, and 1.0)
i've been play this game since de pre-alpha, you know, when you start in omicron without oxigen and i1m feeling very happy to this move <3 This game is incredible and you The Team awesome! And if you need tips for roadmap just talk to me. I'm writer (non of english language but can express some ideas) and im my mind is full os narratievs. Maybe we can help each other <3
Static warp screen was one of my top 3 dislikes. Immersion killer for sure. Now hopefully a dynamic warp screen won't just be an animated loading screen. Warping should still take some time like 5-10 sec, maybe a big warm up animation and sound effect, and could possibly even drop your shields making you vulnerable during warm up. Think I saw something like this in the 2020 survey anyhow
Honestly, I've had so much value for money and playtime on this game that anything else you do to it is a nice bonus.
As I already commented in the steam forums, thank you for responding. This sure points a finger at who is trolling misinformation to rile the players. For those of us worried about the reaction of new players getting upset because it's not a finished product, I see now that the developers are obviously aware of this. I have to laugh, already negative reviews being dropped on this game and it hasn't even changed yet; kind of points a finger at those posters credibility. I'm impressed, just you all no founders or investors etc. (thumbs up)
I may have missed that in the exp period, but I'm playing an updated version (A12.2.3 2980), running Project Eden A12 scenario, and the usual static warp drive is here. I could not find a single video of the new animation in Youtube either. Would mind sharing one? Is my Empyrion install missing something?
No, you don't miss anything. You are currently on PUBLIC To participate in the Current EXPERIMENTAL A12.3 Phase you have to open STEAM Right click on Empyrion/ Properties/Betas/ experimental - unstable Test Branch This will download the EXP branch
Thanks @Germanicus, I was not aware there is a currently EXP branch. I disabled that when A12 Public came out and devs told players to. There has been no announcement in Steam News since July 15th (when A12 Public came online), I came here today because of the Facebook Post. I guess the usual rules are in order: start a new game to see the modifications. And now the conspiracy theories about Steam not posting Empyrion News to favour sales of lesser games can begin. There is also the theory of Valve buying Eleon for an obscene amount of money and promoting the news blackout to prevent players' rage.
