So i encountered an issue today where Forward Facing Weapons were not Firing regardless of Ammo State or powered State

HV - Limit 20 Drill / Harvest / Detector devices ( doesnt matter what you have if it will go on the hot bar you have a total of 24 devices that will work , i tested this with several combinations once you have more than 24 the game will randomly choose to turn off or just not activate a random selection above that number )

CV - Same as above, during my tests the Detector was disabled once it was the 25th device,

this was tested in Creative and on a Dedicated Server , the server is setup with no limits

So i would love to know if this is intended or a Bug

It's intentional. The devs like to implement features that give us control over a number, but cap it arbitrarily anyways. It's been the way since the beginning, and it's my biggest gripe with Eleon. They seem to apply all fixes as if they effect large multiplayer servers. Every change they have made recently has ONLY had performance in mind, not gameplay. It's made the game ALOT more stale.

    How are you defining "Recently"?

Do you consider bug fixes to be Performance work?

While i am not entirely sure how long the Tutorial (the one from triggered from the Start Menu not the Robinson Protocol that used to be a option for Most Survival Game Starts) has been in the game.

I do not think it has been around for long and it is not what i would consider a Performance Focused Change.

well when it comes to settings like my post above, I really think that the performance aspect of servers or gameplay should be up to those that control the server, if I want to allow 5 or 500 guns on ships that should be my choice and the outcome also be on me

It's not a limit like a block limit, it's a limit of how many AI processes can run on a single BP in the code. I wouldn't expect a rework anytime soon

The developers allowed a reasonable amount of customization by players/ server owners, but they have to impose some limits to avoid "false positive" bug reports - they do not support "game modding" means they will not "fix" a bug that is related to modified games.

How id anything i posted "Game Modding" the issue is that if i place 50 guns on a ship only 20ish will work that is a game-breaking bug, or a purposeful restriction placed on the players that should be optional in server/game config

performance-based settings should not be hard coded into the game , they should be options the Server owner can choose from as every Server is different

The default configuration for servers has a hard limit. It is quite possible to remove this limit, but that changes the default settings. The same thing applies to changing item properties. Example: I used to change item values for the T2 drill so it would not have the same drilling speed as the T1 drill. Any unintended issues that resulted from my changes would not be supported, as said changes make it difficult at best to find what is really causing the problem. This is common in IT, the field in which I work.
