As of about 10 minutes ago, the following statistics were true:

14 likes (0.8%) of 1716 views for CPU
6 likes (1%) of 592 views for crafting, minerals and balancing
11 likes (2.3%) of 487 views for teleporters
13 likes (3.5%) of 375 views for detection and scanning
15 likes (1%) of 1592 views for story and missions
12 likes (5%) of 230 views for station services
8 likes (2.7%) of 301 views for token and locks
6 likes (3.4%) of 175 views for registry and proximity log
26 likes (4.5%) of 576 views for the galaxy
4 likes (2%) of 193 views for multiplayer leaderboard etc
4 likes (1.2%) of 344 views for space / base attacks
10 likes (4.7%) of 215 views for interactive dialogues

So less than 1% of viewers liked the CPU; similar for crafting+minerals, story and missions, and space and base attacks.
A whopping 5% liked the services, 4.5% the galaxy, and 3.5% detection and scanning.

There are 12 Alpha 12 threads that have poll options of 'thumbs up / many thumbs up' voting options. The percentages are the number of thumbs ups voted compared to the total viewers, for each thread.

and this many total thumbs ups

Yes, I've seen that thread. I haven't voted as it has stupid options and non that are negative.
How can you get accurate feedback if the options are biased one way..

Seeing that 99.2% of viewers didn't vote seems like at least one metric of feedback.

It is a poor one, though.

The polls would look different if the players were given more options to vote.
And that's the only way to get Feedback
I would also not vote if there are no difference answers.

Just basing this on views doesnt really tell us anything worthwhile, other than people look at something a lot and dont do anything. Which is a pretty universal truth to begin with.

    ^ exactly

A far more accurate measurement would be to count the number of unique users posting negative feedback in each thread, and deriving a percentage vs upvotes. "Views" can mean people who didn't care either way, weren't motivated to give feedback, or repeat posters/readers

I think the percentage would still weigh as negative, just not with the ridiculous ratio

Yes, the views cannot be counted, but if I don't like it I have no way of voting. Also, not everyone likes to write a contribution, so it is difficult to get results from it. It is better if you only have to press a button with sufficient points, but there is only one choice, so you do nothing.

Go look at YouTube videos and count the likes versus views. It's meaningless. Even on the best videos only a few percent click the like button.

So unless you're trying to imply that 99% of people who view a cat video on YouTube don't like it, the views don't mean much. What matters is like versus dislike ratio, or even better actual feedback in comments.

Of course those polls were made as a joke it seems, so you can't even analyse the poll results.

You'll have to go off of the survey data which I don't believe has been released yet.

just makes my statistical heart bleed.
it's just not representative. not even close. no point in even looking at it. don't think they were being serious. I hope not :p no point trying to make "sense" out it based on number of views..

I think I looked at these pages at least once a day since the topics has been created. Surely I'm not alone, and all these "views" just for myself may be counted in the sum...

And I didn't vote, of course. Maybe once in the odd case but I usually don't vote on these.

... I thought post view count was only incremented once per member who viewed it.

In fact, I'm pretty sure this is already the case. I just opened an already viewed thread 5 times in a row and checked the view count and it did not change.

I do think that a percentage of viewers bothering to vote seems slightly relevant. Less than 1% giving a thumbs up for CPU, but 5% voting for services.. <shrug>

I'm sorry but it truely has no relevance at all. It's pretty much established at this point that the majority of people who play a game do not use forums or discord. They might know it exists...but they simply have no interest.

Those figures you've quoted have no meaning whatsoever.
