@WarMachine Wow that thing looks epic! Sheesh 3 to 4 huge ships all posted within a week's timespan. I can imagine CV battles with your ship WarMachine and Serevanth and you too Etha - wow that would be colossal and would probably make a great video to watch and kill some time!
Thanks for the compliment. I prefer to build small things even when making cap ships, so those small planet sized things would prolly decimate everything I've built in seconds. Not much to watch in there, but I'm currently in progress of making pure combat cap ship, so expect something even smaller
Thanks for the nice comments. Most ships I ran across have filler or block off the excess areas, I just put doors to them and let people build in them if they want and to keep it light for those that just want a shipyard of epic ships to fly around. But yea, the nacelles are too far away from any gravity generator and huge. Oddly enough I prefer smaller CVs, and apparently have a reputation on PvP servers for building "little balls of death". This is the "Dhul-Qarnayn" AKA Alexander the Great. She is my PvP gunship. It is epic seeing a SV or CV struck with all 4 rockets.
Now that I am in the right forum - WE HAVE FROGS!!! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=632868036 And even a Garden!
Looks great I was trying and will hav eto start over... I was building big and did not look at the cockpit and realized too late it was reverse.. let me know how your build goes
My Capital Ship in progress... Thick hull.... even thinker around things that could go boom 2 outer hangers, 1 inner hanger Power room Backup power room Core room RCS room 2 Fuel rooms 2 Oxygen storage 2 working control rooms (cockpits) 1 ammo room cargo hold Farm and medical deck..... 8 fridges Maintenance shaft to get to all vertical and yaw thrusters for inner repairs
As promised something even smaller than my original Cap ships, continued on same color theme though. Personally I think this looks even better on full gray so you can stay in ambush position inside asteroid belts. Contains bare necessities for combat + 4 pulse lasers if you want to engage outside of turret range and 4 rocket launchers for proper assaults. Also if you're fast on cycling weapons you can get all 8 weapons to fire simultaneously, which makes for quite nice alpha strikes So ladies and gents, may I present you Mini-Corvette: Ambush colors and ambush positions. Original coloration 8 gun alpha strike! Blueprint link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=633940596
Working on a dedicated Warp Drive Light Vessel for long range travel.I was inspired to do this ship by another workshop user ( http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=631949988 ) The BI-Stingray is a light capital vessel dedicated for Warp Drive travel.Has all the basics installed. No mounted weapons included. Blueprint coming soon.
Regus Station - work in progress Current Size : 249*249*30 Current Weight 79kt Current Weapons: 176 Minigun Turret 264 Plasma Turret Shell is complete, top half still to be done, plus insides. *Hanger completed
Star Wars Vigil Class Heavy Corvette inspired by fan made 3D-art, created by Ansel Hsiao from Fractalsponge.net Special Thanks to EGS dev team for adding the new blocks and to Jona (steamname "darthvader") who was helping me to finish the ship, especially the bridge and the ship movement. Length: 262 m Hangar room for 16 Tie-fighters * 72 fuel tanks * 20 Oxygen tanks * Supply and Ammo boxes * Warp Drive * constructor and food processing room * medical support * engineering / alternte bridge * crew and officers rooms * garden / food production Weapons: * 3 x artilery turrets * 2 x cannon turrets * 6 x minigun turrets * 10 x plasma turrets * 2 x rocket turrets * 1 x pulse laser Entering a planet should be possible, but dont try to land. This ship was not created for planetary landing. You probably will crash. It's not tested yet. I may create a planetary landing version in the future. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=635267384
The flying box of potatoes! Enough space on top to land on with a small fleet of Mini-line vessels and contains everything essential inside. I was actually asked what is my load-out on the survival games and I'm afraid the answer is not really elegant or even interesting. This thing eats roughly the same amount of raw materials as the original starter small vessel (+ tiny bits of sathium and neodymium, which you generally get from asteroids and looting enemy bases) I've tried strapping a turret or a few on top of it too, not even once used any of those, so they're not included in the blueprint. Aside from that I just make one Mini-Advanced and one Mini-Raid and stick those on roof. Then just leave the box hanging on the orbit while you clear the planets drone base and find a suitable landing spot. After two first planets I'll usually hang one of my "pocket-cruiser"s on top of it too, just to chew down those buildings even faster, since there's nothing meaningful to loot after you've cleared the two first worlds. Posting an image of this thing is like posting a picture of a cardboard box, but nevertheless here's my best one! Found a nice minor bug in there as well, when you "warp" through planets atmosphere you get this sassy looking effect everywhere in space! Edit: Added image of the whole setup I use for "late-game" survival. Picture is taken from an experimental ship, which turned out to be useless due to rockets bugging and exploding in the tubes instead of launching when you strafe. So not going to publish that That aside, My current clean-up fleet is one Lada, one Mini-Raid (with double miniguns) and one Mini-Advanced with one railgun. Build from the start is: Just mine until you get to the level 3, then make Mini-Hover to explore if the seed has any proper mineral deposits (at least you need copper and iron under 1km distance from each other) personally I prefer to use power stations on Akua and Xenu temples on Omicron, depending where you start. As soon as you find proper location make base there or invade Power station or Xenu temple depending where you did start. Power stations are considerably easier since there's no troops inside, but as a downside they lack plant pots, which are already installed in temples. From level 7 you can make Mini-Me small vessel to explore more and mine asteroids for sathium. From level 10 I usually start building one Mini-Bomber or Mini-Advanced and this cap ship o'course. Then you're all set actually Blueprint link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=635857713
Star Wars Venator Class Jedi Cruiser This ship is a cooperation work with Jona ( Steam and EGS forums name "darthvader" ). It started as Jona's idea several months ago. He also created the first draft of this monster. One day he asked me to help him working on this ship. We was working several weeks together in a private multiplayer session on this ship. We had to rework the whole ship few times, because of block limits and ireaparable design mistakes. Once we also had to do a complete fresh restart. Our saved world was looking something like a space ship graveyard We used original Star Wars art images as basis template for the shape. We worked with layer overlay techniques to compare the screenshots from our ship with the original reference pictures. Facts: * Length: 610 m * Scale 1:2 * Build time: hunderts of hours * Built time period: about 3 months * Hangar space has room for dozens of fighters. Even small Capital ships can be landed there * 56 large generators * 80 fuel tanks splited in 4 different rooms * countless RCS'es * countless lights * crew rooms * officer rooms * captain quarters * garden / food production * enginerring / alternate bridge * medical support * Warp Drive * kitchen / food processing * officers kitchen * leisure rooms * constructor room * cargo and ammo rooms * train trail at top of the ship (over the hangar) * plenty empty space for your imagination This is not only a space ship, this is a flying city with the firepower of a battleship. Planetary landing is possible, if you can handle the ship controls and find enough free space for landing. There are special landing gears at bottom of the ship. We don't think it's possible to build bigger ships in EGS, at least in the near future and if you want to build more than just an empty hull. We was already hitting the game engine limits for single Capital Vehicle. If you press the P key for control panel, this can take several seconds to apear. If you have a low end PC, we suggest to not spawn this ship, this can kill your graphic card and explode your computer Workshop link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=636017267
How did you guys handle the gravity generator over-lapping? I stopped working on the interior of the large Fury for this reason, hoping it will change later.
Well, it's just to calculate the range of the generators. But in a big complex ship, you will never fully avoid overlapping. The point is, to keep it as small as possible.
* QUEUE THE THEME MUSIC FROM JAWS * Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Hammerhead. Was going for three things when making this, 1) Something stylish 2) Functional 3) Efficient and I am quite pleased with how she works after several days of taking her out. Built to resemble a hammerhead shark, the mouth serves as the interior hangar, there are two large spots on her back as well to land upon, in space her belly can hold a small fleet of SVs. From the hangar, going in on the lowest floor contains engineering where all the vitals are kept, every single thruster is along the walls or in the back of the room, two large generators, three large ammo boxes, five 02 tanks and dispenser between two advanced constructors. Gravity generator and warp drive of course plus five fuel tanks. Directly above engineering is the living quarters area, sleeping and dining on either side, a small lounging area, two complete bathrooms, and the best part, the movie theater in the back that has a passage in the back along to the tail where you can man the plasma turrets. Also a medbay and 02 dispenser in this area. The entire floor is hardwood for the living quarters. Top floor is the farm and storage plus a lounging area with a great view. The farm also has extra fuel tanks, four of them along the upper walls, six fridges in this room as well to store what you grow. 9x9 farming area minus two spaces for the elevator shafts. Also two redundant large generators on this floor. Back above the mouth is the bridge or flight deck, cockpit is located here plus a medbay and 02 dispenser. Awesome observation area at the front of the bridge in what is the eyes of the shark. The floor here is a white hardwood flooring. She has an artillery turret mounted directly on the roof above the cockpit, easily accessed from the bridge. There are two plasma turrets that are easily accessed as well on the back of the ship, and the side fins each hold a minigun turret that are not accessable unless you jetpack to them. The ship also has two rocket launchers and plasma cannons for dogfighting should the need arise. I built this entire thing in survival mode on Omicron, hope you have some plastic aside as this ship is essentially a luxury model CV capable of very comfortably sustaining a crew of a dozen or so while looking damn good exploring the stars. 480 plastic required. Otherwise 60 of the two rare ores, 4k or so iron ingots, with the rest scaling accordingly. There are 4 RCS placed in a line directly down the middle of the ship. The core is located directly beneath the 02 dispenser in the living quarters. She flies well and holds her fuel well and has several access points throughout, only exception being the belly. Had a lot of fun with this one so far, hope you guys enjoy it too. Just a note I posted an older photo of the bridge, before I redid the floor Same applies to the movie theater now that I think of it lol. "When you can survive like this, why go home?"
