That's what I don't like about the Empyrion Community, if you disagree, you're gonna get beat up by others.
Empyrion forums in recent days: Eleon: "The game isnt finished, we arent done, we are changing the title as we feel the backbone of the game is how we envisioned." Players: "I cant believe yall are saying the game is finished!" Eleon: "The game isnt finished" Players: "But you just said its finished!" Eleon: "No, we didnt, we will still be doing updates." Players: "I cant believe yall will just let it die now." Eleon: "We literally didnt say that." Players: "But you said its done!" Eleon: "We are saying it isnt done, and we will keep working on it." Players: "But thats not what you just said!" Eleon: "Where?" Players: "When you said it was done!" Eleon: "Ok, since it isnt clear...We are not done, we are just changing the title as we feel the building blocks are complete as we wanted them." Players: "I cant believe they think this game is finished...I want to speak to the manager!"
Because for many People 1.0 stands for a game that is done. We "Players" are neither super intelligent game developers, nor managers. They say that the game isn't done: okay, great! They will continue development: great, too! But maybe it's the fact that other players, also me, payed money for games in the past, that were in development, then just within a short time changed their tag to 1.0 and then we got nearly nothing more. If Eleon isn't doing that, its great! But we are burned children who have only just got to know it differently. But we are also happy to be taught a better lesson. Since we have had no or few positive experiences with something like this, it meets with incomprehension. Keep that in mind, please.
Kerbal Space Program released as 1.0 on April 27, 2015. Since then, it has progressed through 10 major updates and is now on 1.10.1. I suppose there's no reason why Empyrion could not do likewise.
All the CORE tech is in game now with A12. Thus we feel since thats done that we can call this 1.0 The core tech wont get hugh changes anymore. All the other stuff are additions to this core tech
Happy Birthday Eleon! I'm looking forward to many, many more hours in this game and continuing to watch it grow.
Okay I'll stop criticizing here, I don't want to be dragged into the next alley by the concentrated power of an Empyrion community and beaten up there
It's good to hear, and I hope the list of changes, improvements, and additions is substantial enough to calm the fears and doubts And Happy Anniversary
Happy Birthday Eleon ! , I hope that the next phase will be new blocks of windows to make circular shapes, just as it is in the general structure. In this way we will leave the same building blocks with the same look of windows. It will be a breakthrough. Congratulations
Honest question though...which games do? I am not a hard core gamer who plays hundreds of titles, but from my experience nearly all games I have played have a version. Its pretty common sense that updates and stuff happen to all games. Can't recall one that states "Our game is 100% complete and we will never be making any changes or alterations" except for, perhaps, games that are being abandoned.
