Steam calls it "Mixed", but I think it might be more accurate to call it Neutral, because when the numbers are that close, the Positives and Negatives almost cancel each other out.
I think Steam chose "mixed" on purpose, because "neutral" suggests they are even, while "mixed" can veer a good amount to either side. 60/40 would hardly be truly neutral, but I think it still counts as mixed on Steam. I think it's more accurate/less prone to be misunderstood to do it this way.
Things can’t be braindead. Only beings with a brain can be. So stating that someone performs braindead actions implies that this someone is braindead.
I looked at the overall numbers of reviews - 20.000 - than at the numbers of "positive" reviews - 16.000 - and to the number of "negative" reviews - 4.000. That resembles to me a overall "positive" picture of the game. A few Days does not count and only show the unhappiness of the reviewers with recent events. Lets look at it again on September 1st, 2020.(if we are still alive to view it)

It is only IMO that a decision if I buy a product should be a result of the Overall Views and not on recently posted ones.
I'd say that depends. In this case, an argument can be made that the game is pretty much still in roughly the same shape as before August 5th. Which is true. The game, overall, didn't suddenly get much worse, which can happen with patches or expansions that break things "bigly". Another argument can be made around the difference of expectations between an Early Access title, and a release title. I've said my piece on that discussion and don't really want to get dragged back into this one. We've already danced that dance right here in this thread. I see where you're coming from, and in some points I agree with you, in others I disagree. I don't think buyers will take either of our opinions into account, but I find it far from stupid to consider *why* reviews have suddenly gotten much worse, and to make an informed choice on whether that reason should influence one's purchase decision. Anybody expecting a finished, polished game is certainly not well served by buying it at this time. Anybody who sees the reviews and chooses to be fine with a game that is very much still in an alpha state, can buy without too much remorse.
I can do things that are considered "braindead", i.e. without giving any thought at all. That does not make me braindead. It means I had a stupid moment, severely misunderstood something, or did not understand the topic matter. That does not mean that I am without a brain, nor that I am always acting in such a way. It just means this particular way in which I behaved was on par with the mental capacity of a body in a morgue. All of us do braindead things occasionally. tl;dr: strongly disagree with this assessment.

I'm on the other end of that reasoning. I generally read more of the recent reviews to get a better picture of the current state of a game, from reading between the lines of the recent reviews this is a game I would pass up. (which I think is the real reason people are bitching about it, I got plenty of hours in the game so far, but I'd want to play the game when it gets to completion too, which I worry it will never be if sales start falling due to bad reviews. (It does not clearly state that it is a work-in-progress game at the store either, further 'luring' new people to believe this is a final product))
I love this game...and have vastly enjoyed my learning curve, the challenges, the headaches, and the triumphs I have had in the game. That said, one primary reason I even log on is to escape a bit into another world where I do not have to contend with the societal ills of this real world.
No wonder the Zirax can shoot us through walls if they can see us from inside POIs while we're deep in a hole behind a butte at 5 km from them...
And also a blatantly unrealistic part of the game. I've always found the reputation system confusing. Is every faction and the player omniscient? How else do you know that the zirax are sending an attack wave the instant they decide to do so? Attack a drone, get a loud klaxon and "TROOP TRANSPORT APPROACHING". How the hell does the player know that, and/or why is the game programmed to tell the player that? what's also annoying is how when the player gets cold, there's this annoying BEEP and a hud message that also says so. why can't that stuff be disabled.
